I would really appreciate a tutorial on how to change a rear wheel flat on the HSD S+ (belt drive). Please show how to remove and reinstall the rear wheel with the belt drive.
For hsd p9, there is a quick lever for the back tire, pull it then it wil loosen the nut, on the other side, loosen the nut by hand more manually. The tire will come off from within the chains, it's easy to pull it back or put it back in, no tools required.
I would love to see more self repair videos for each bike like this, for people to replace cars they need to be able to know all this since most towns have no bike shops near by or far away for a Tern dealer.
Yes, you can remove BOTH wheels while bike standing vertically! See The Tern GSD Facebook Group facebook.com/groups/ternGSD where lots of useful people (including Tern people!) share pedalled experiences and knowledge. [We know it's Facebook but hey, so is UA-cam!] There are similar pages for other models - such as HSD
Hi. Great Vid! Yes, would love to see a separate vid on portable inflation devices. Would also love to see vids on how to remove wheels from the various Tern models.
you need to make more video on eg how to dismantle and assemble after a clean. how to clean, or take care of tern bike. i am using verge x10. well sti;; have a long way to learn to how to take care of my bike. that's is way i m watching your video. thanks.
Very helpful. Been wrenching on bikes since I was a kid and just replaced both tubes on my Trek hybrid. Now 70 and just bought a Tern. Picked up a couple of nuggets. For example, I will obtain a Tern Tool like the one you used. Reduces the need to carry more wrenches. Thanks!
Hi, I have a Tern HSDS+ and I would really appreciate a video on removing a wheel as I have just had to take mine back to the dealership as I had a rear puncture and I will be without the bike for a few days due to staffing problems. I would like to say though that I am very happy with the bike and it’s a joyful experience riding to work instead of driving the car. My daily commute is six miles each way.
Great video. Instead of alining the tire label to the valve hole, I always align the recommended pressure markings on the tire to the valve hole. It's a quick way to remind myself of the correct pressure to pump without having to go through the entire tyre looking for it
Thank you Ardleigh. Great video and also looking forward to the video on how to remove the wheel on an HSD, especially the rear one which looks more complicated. 😊
Would be super grateful for a video about how to remove wheels on the tern orox. Live in sweden with snow in winters so I need to change tires every 6 months.
Hey Arleigh! Loved the video. Need to know how to remove/reinstall the BYB S11 rear tire for flat repair. Trying to trouble shoot the caliper brakes. I'm really a novice at bike repair. When I was cruising the ATT, it sounded like a blowout, so I'm stalled until I get the wheel back into cruising condition. Thanks for all the support!
Great video thanks a mil! I have two follow up questions after watching: 1. How do you pull out the back wheel of Tern GSD S00 to change a flat tire? 2. Is it possible to lift up the bike vertically with child seat and storm box on?
Hi Nelson, this is Arleigh responding. It is not possible to pull the bike into the vertical position with the Clubhouse+ extension bar or a Yepp Seat in the rear position. My recommendation would be to put something under the lockstand to LIFT up from there. I will work on a video with these suggestions!
Hi. I would love a vid on removing the rear wheel and fixing a flat on a Vektron S-10. I've changed many flats on many bikes, but never on a bike like the Vektron with panniers.
I think it would be very helpful to see a video for how to remove the rear wheel on a gen 2 S00 such that it addresses removing/reinstalling the enviolo shift cable and navigating removing the rear axle bolts when the sidekick wide decks are installed.
Thanks for a great video Arleigh, I have not ridden a bike much in years so when I got a flat I made a bit of a pigs ear of it. It was around the valve stem so your comment re: being careful with the stems is valid :) Dealing with a full laden bike at the side of the road as you point out was no fun, are there any run-flat / airless options for Tern?
I have a question. I have a Tern D8 link, one of the first generations, with 20x1.60 wheels, with schwalbe citizen tires. Will it be possible to change the original tire for a fat one? I was thinking of swapping it out for a schwalbe big apple 20x2.00, but I'm not sure if the bike frame or the bike rim will support it. Great video!. I hope you continue with this content.
Desperately seeking instructions or demonstration of removing the rear wheel (GSD R14 with gates drive) for a flat tire change on the side of the road.
Hi Kevin, I'm so sorry to hear about your flat! We rely on our local dealers to provide hands on training for work like this as the R14 requires a lot of specific training from Rohloff and Gates to ensure everything is done properly. - Arleigh
@@ternbicycles What happens when your local dealer doesn't seem prepared to provide that training? I just upgraded to a GSD S00 LR after a theft and when I asked to see how the rear wheel was removed, the bike shop mechanic said he'd never worked on one of these before so I was basically on my own. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE provide a video on how to change a flat for those bikes. I loved my gen 1 GSD but the support from Tern when I needed help directly was appalling.
Great video, Arleigh 👍🏻 A separate video on how to remove the front/rear wheel on GSD would be really useful.
They are on our list!
+1 on how to remove front and rears wheel please!
@@kumatankthetank Which bike and model do you have?
@@ternbicycles Please for GSD and HSD!
Here I am sitting on the side of the road unable to remove the wheel from my GSD and I have a screw in the tire. I’ll wait here for that video. Haha

Same, but on the GSD with Enviolo
wait, there is one!

If you're not confident checking for what caused the puncture with your fingers, a ball of cotton will do it!
