    Having one person providing audio and another demonstrating is an excellent presentation method. The GSD looks like a beast although I still prefer the HSD options.

    Great info vid. Just purchased a new R14 and my dealer fell short in many aspects of putting in the order, and finally getting the bike to me. I had to ask them about anything that I should know about operating the bike. Their response was far too basic and short. luckily you and the Tern team made this great video! I will save it, and revisit if I have any concerns about starting my new experience with this great machine. Thank you so much.

    I'm about to order the GSD R14 here in the UK. Long waiting times everywhere as not in stock. My main question is, why is the R14 only available in grey?

    • @ternbicycles

      Our more premium models are typically only available in one color. You'll love the bike!

    Any advice on using and charging dual batteries when they are off the bike, please? Do I need a second charger? Is there a dual battery indoor pocket enabling charging both with one charger? What is the application of the 6 amp charger?

    • @ternbicycles
      @ternbicycles  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Charles, thanks for the great questions:
      1. The only way to charge two batteries at the same time would either be to a) charge them both on your bike with the batteries plugged into the seating (it will charge them simultaneously). or b) using two chargers separately off the bike.
      2. In regards to the 6A Bosch Fast Chargers, you'll need to contact your dealer about those specifically, and about their current availability (they are not available in all markets). The GSD comes with the Standard 4A Bosch Charger.

    Hey guys, when will the GSD S00 LX be shipping to REI again? No one I have called has it is in stock, but REI is providing 2 years of free maintenance for REI members... I WANT IT, I WANT IT!!!

      REI does not carry the LX version. It would need to be a special order and not something all shops know how to do. Please email dale.aguas@ternbicycles.com to help.

      Hi Charles! The new GSD's are migrating around the world as we speak and will be landing in local bike shops at different times. The best thing you can do is to keep in contact with your dealer for the most up to date information (they know better than us). But, send us pics when you get yours!

  • @Tismar10

    I am not happy with the fame lock. If I need to take out the batterie at home I need to lock the bike first because it wont release the key otherwise. Also I would want to lock my bike only with an extern chain. But then the framelock key stays in place, allowing for stealing my batterie.

    • @ternbicycles
      @ternbicycles  3 роки тому +3

      Hi Phillip! Unfortunately, due to insurance regulations in Europe, we had to opt for locks that require the key to be left in the lock while it is in the open/unlocked position. While not the most convenient at the beginning to get used to, it becomes second nature after a while. If it is something you eventually would like to change, check-in with your Tern dealer to help you acquire and install a new alternate Abus lock. (Make sure to take into account of getting it "keyed-alike" to your current battery key!)

      @@ternbicycles thank you. That is what I did. I will have it installed next week and looking forward to it. Great bike!!

      Hi Phillip,..
      It's interesting what you said about the lock on the GSD. I'm about to buy one (GSD R14), here in the UK and I'm wondering if the issue you describe affects all the GSD range? If so, I'll do what you did regarding the lock. Just to be clear, are you saying that the batteries can get stolen because the key is left in?

    • @Tismar10
      @Tismar10 3 роки тому +1

      @@Stringbean421 if I left my bike NOT locking the front lock (but maybe a U-Lock), the key stays put in the front lock. Not possible to take out if not locked. But a thief could then lock zhe front lock, take the key and take the battery. I changed the front lock and now have a common key for front lock and extra lock and a second dofferent key for battery

      oh ok,.I'm just trying to understand why you feel it's too much trouble just locking the front lock so that you can take the key out.

    I don't understant why in the hell for any normal wear (break pads, chain, sporcket,...) you expect users to turn to their dealers ? Why don't you give the parts number and the procedures to empower your clients instead of infantilizing them ? If you got time to make this kind of videos, you surely have it as well to show procedures for normal maintenance.

      Hey Olivier!
      Arleigh from Tern North America here. We are working on a ton of maintenance videos to start rolling out soon. One of the most difficult parts of being a global company, each territory can have different parts and some of the pieces really do need a trained mechanic to work on. I'm a pretty skilled bicycle and motorcycle mechanic but I would never change the brake pads on our family car and that is how sophisticated some of these bikes are getting.

      I agree your sentiment. However, if you know this particular market, you would found out TERN GSD courier bike is amongst the less expensively priced in courier bike market. In term of build quality, TERN GSD is considered to be one of the sturdiest bike out there, and handling of the bike is smooth. The only problem is the price, but again, it’s the economy that is to blame, not the manufacturer.

      can you get a $5000 Ducati? or a $5000 Harley? the GSD is expensive, and I agree...maybe should be priced a few grand lower, but it's at the top level for cargo bikes...so it's all relative... it's not apples to apples.
