Hello Louise, I am 72 and a widower. I have had a Foodi for about a year and didn't use it much except for chicken wings a steak occasionally, then I found you videos and you have changed my life. In the past 2 weeks I have made your beef stew, ham & bean soup, beef stroganoff, a whole chicken (from frozen), chicken & dumplings ( i can't believe I made dumplings from scratch!), pot roast, made my own bone broth, ricotta cheese and will try to make your double stacked lasagna tonight (BTW, the MaxRock pans you have an amazon link to are no longer available). I am planning on trying to make some 360 meals, wish me luck. No more carry out! Since I found you I don't need a wife :-) Thanks Louise
Hey, I just wanted to say thank you for all that you do. Thank you for telling your viewers exactly what the pros and cons are. I recently bought a foodi and I've become addicted to your videos. We made a good call. I ran a test by pouring in the pot 4 cups of water. I set it to sear and 20 minutes later, the water only reached 225 degrees. You were right. You and I together proved that we can't deep fry in the foodi. I have to tell you that you are my "go to" person in this topic. You are great as a teacher. My family is amazed at how good a cook "I HAVE BECOME" and you are the reason for this. Keep coming up with new recipes so I can dazzle my family. PS: think my wife figured out that I was watching your videos so I am soon going to get busted that you are my inspiration. You are my inspiration.
The boiling point of water and oil are different, so you can't really go by how hot the water gets. When water reaches 212F and begins to boil, it turns to steam and never really gets much hotter unless under pressure. The boiling point of oil varies by oil, but is around 300F, so it is possible that the Foodi would heat oil hotter than it did the water. However, I still only recommend shallow frying or pan frying and of course I never recommend pressure cooking oil. I'm so glad that you are making great meals for your family and I'm honored to be your inspiration!
I can not tell you how many times I have watched this video and the other part. The tip on using the rack to lift out the crisper basket....GENIUS!!! I will not forget this one.

I recently purchased a Ninja Foodi and have been watching all the videos, on this site, with great interest and enjoyment. I headed to Amazon and put in an order for a (non-Ninja) rack, 8ins x 2ins, to use for layering, inside the large pot. An hour after placing my order, I happened to open a kitchen cupboard and my eye fell on the circular, metal rack which came. with my microwave oven. I've never used this rack, in the microwave but it turns out, it fits in my Foodi, beautifully! Luckily, I was able to cancel my Amazon order, but the moral of the story is: Have a good look through your cupboards to see how you can utilise what you already have, before spending more money and using up more kitchen storage space. 😉😉

The small silicone lid works for covering a glass if you are having a drink outdoors or for covering a small dish of leftovers or sauce if you don't have a lid.
I spent my weekend trying to decide if I wanted to buy a pressure cooker or an air fryer. I am glad I came across the ninja foodi and then your channel! I don't even have a foodi yet but after watching several of your videos I cannot wait to get mine and try a bunch of your recipes! Thank you!

Thank you for all the info especially on all the different Ninji Foodi I now am back to the 8qt pot after you cooked crispy mushrooms as those were the exact models I was having to decide & I get one lol. I'm addicted to your expertise and your details are great. Your lovely that you.

Thank you Louise - you always have such wonderful ideas everyone can implement to make cooking a true joy! I have a tip for you that I found about pot in pot cooking. I was trying to find a pot big enough to fit in my 8 qt Ninja where I could put a few cups of water on the bottom, then a trivet, and then a big pot where I could make my sauces. I don't like adding all this broth to the spaghetti sauces because that dilutes the flavor of my sauces. So, I found a 3 qt Instant Pot on Amazon (along with a beautiful silicon lid cover) and it fits beautifully in my 8 qt Ninja. I don't know about the 6 1/2 qt Ninja, but this definitely fits my 8 qt. Now I can make my sauces under pressure for that infused flavor without diluting the taste due to water requirements. Then I take the 3 qt pot out, put the lid on it, and store in the refrigerator. It's beautiful! Just go to amazon and search for "Instant Pot 3 quart accessories".
I got my 11/2019 QVC Black Friday sale OP302H Ninja Foodi ($159.95!) yesterday, and I've been squealing with joy ever since. I have an 8 qt Instant Pot with two stainless steel liners, and I moved the IP under my cabinets (good only for slow-cooking unless I pull it out) and put the NF on my open counter cooking area. I discovered I can saute in the IP liner right in the NF, then move it over to the IP, adding ingredients for soup or what-not, to slow cook or keep warm without dragging the pot out from under the cabinet. The large flat lime-green silicone pot lid works great to sit on the counter beside the NF to hold the pressure-cooking lid, and my rimmed IP-branded silicone lid fits the NF inner pot perfectly! I had bought years ago that four-piece Wolfgang Puck Savarin Pan set, and it fits.
Wow Diane, you slow cook from within your cabinet? Sounds good. My kitchen does not allow for this. If I get my hands on the Ninja Foodi I will have to sell my Instant Pot.
Diane, do you use those angel pans, because of the open center? I guess that would ensure the cake to be baked evenly without the center staying soggy? Have not used my Instant Pot for baking yet.
@@nelesonntagodo Not within my cabinet, under it. Up against the wall underneath. Too low to put the big Instant Pot with the cover up in its slot. I have a corner to the right of my stove, to the left of my sink, that I can't really use for working space, so I've got "Papa Bear" (8 qt IP) and "Baby Bear" (3 qt IP) up under the cabinets in that corner. They are stored out of my way that way, but I can still slow cook or keep-warm in the big one. The smaller one, I can store it with the lid up and maneuver to pressure cook in it (my go-to for beans, rice). I just have to have a steam diverter so I don't vent the steam up on the cabinet.
I like your videos because you provide excellent advice based on the actual use of the products shown. Also the audio is very clear and professional, unlike the echoing audio of others. Off to Amazon...
I have loved watching your videos over the last few weeks so much so that I look forward to my Ninja Foodi coming this evening - you make everything look so easy but so well presented and scrumptious - I do have a "Clever Chef" and an Instant Pot and I am sure I will still use them but cannot wait to use some of your recipes in my new Ninja Foodi - I hope I can recreate some of the love and magic you have created!
Thank you so much for doing these videos. I am getting my first ninja food on Friday. I use instant pot and ip air fryer so super excited to get the ninja do it all! Haha but the accessories video is so helpful!
The small silicone lid is good for keeping your tea or coffee hot. You could also just cut slits into the larger silicone lid if you are concerned with trimming it a bit too small.
I ordered a circular 9” silicone pan liner because in a recent venture to barbecue chicken the sauce that dripped into the pan hardened up so hard that 6 hours of soaking didn’t even soften it. I eventually filled it with water and soap and put it under pressure for an hour. I’m hoping the pan liner eliminates that in the future. The metal racks are a dream to clean compared to the fry basket. But the trivet that supports the fry basket is designed to guide the hot air back up towards the food. For air frying, it may be worthwhile to take the trivet off and set it under the metal rack to get the best of both.
Wow! I've never had anything stick like that, I hope the silicone liner works well to prevent that in the future. I'm not sure the trivet would help the metal rack, but it's worth a shot. Let me know if you give it a try. I have seen people use the legs from the basket for other things and they work well.
The Salted Pepper I was thinking the trivet might help guide hot air on the bottom of your baking pans that are having trouble baking in the center. It definitely cooks burgers better in the center than when they are put on the metal rack alone. They cook faster on the bottom than on top where the hot air is blowing down on them directly.
Thank you for all these great videos on the Foodi. You have so many good recipes for real people making food the whole family will love. If I could make a suggestion that would help me a bunch. Is it possible to display a running ingredients list in the upper corner as you say them? My kids love to talk in the middle of it and I always have to rewind to hear what I missed. I know you have them on your web site, but I like to watch the videos on my XBox in the living room, and pulling up the web site is not always easy. Thank you again and keep up the good work. Cheers from Boston.
You are a Godsend full of wonderful information, so much is making so much sense, like when I bake veggie fruit cakes for my birds, yup raw in the middle, ugh, hahahahahaha! Is the Ninja Foodi pressure cooker truly a non-stick pot?
you know that small yellow silicone lid - use it for on top of a cup of coffee. I have another brand i got and thats what i use it for. Like when you are delivering bkfst in bed to your loved one. i make my coffee and dawdle around in kitchen doing other stuff before i sit down and drink it so i use it to cover my coffee immediately and it keeps it hot..
Thank you for the wonderful presentation. It was really great knowing about the accessories. I would like to know if I can use a stainless steel pan for pressure cooking or steaming ? Thank you 😊
I've had a Foodi about 3 weeks now and I just can't stop cooking! So Far almost everything that I've made has come from you! I won't say they came out as good as yours, but I plan to keep on trying. I may never use a stove again....and yes, I bought to0omany accessories. I could not find your egg bite pan recommendation. Watched that tonight and can't wait to make my own. BTW, can the small cast iron frying pan be used with any function or just in the air fryer? Anyway, thank you so much, I just love watching you! Food Network are you watching?

Hi Louise, I recently purchased The 8 qt. Ninja Foodi Deluxe and absolutely love it! I was also lucky enough to come across your website - The Salted Pepper. In a word - fabulous!! I am going to buy some aluminum pans and would like your advice as to size. We are a household of 3, with two very big eaters - I found I had to double the rice and beans in the Mexican Pot Roast recipe! So with that said, should I just buy the 8" x 2" pans? Or should I get the 8"x 3" size? I look forward to your reply, as I do your regular emails.
You might be able to get 1 that is 2" and 1 that is 3", but I'm not sure if they stack. If you only want to use one at a time, then you will be fine with the 3", but you might have to use the rack in low all the time. I do know that 2 of the 2" will fit stacked in the 6.5qt or the 8qt.
yum just did 2 sourdough pizza in Foodi (cooker did not arrive on time) so no longer desperate - raining today so no kettle BBQ option either... very clear
Nice to know information: When baking potatoes outside in or over a campfire, use ALUMINUM nails pushed through the potatoes to conduct the heat to the center of the potato, it cooks more evenly and quicker. Question, how do you determine the heat and time when cooking multiples in the pot?
Louise could you help with accessories for the ninja foodi mini can not get any info about this version of the foodi, and I know I’m not the only one. I’m having doubts about buying the mini foodi now but thought it was right for me as Im on my own now. Thanks for you great recipes I have tried the ones I can do in my mini.
The Salted Pepper Thanks Louise, their are lots of accessories on amazon that are 7” and say they fit from 3.5q I think I might send for one and see if it fits. I’m from Birmingham, England. love your recipes just not 100% sure how to convert from cups. Just an idea but if you could come up recipes for England I’m sure they would be a hit.😃
Has anyone found a cast iron bean pot or small dutch oven that will fit inside the NF for baking cornbread? Southern cornbread cooked in anything but cast iron just isn't the same.
Yes, there is one that fits and I used it in my bacon mac and cheese video. I've seen several that people use, but they cut the handles off. The one I have doesn't need to be altered. Here is my affiliate link: amzn.to/356FoMb
@@TheSaltedPepper The price was right, so I just bought two of these: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00063RX60. I'll let y'all know how they do, but I'm thinking two of them ought to fit in the NF for cooking cornmeal muffins or crusty brownies or portion-controlled cobblers or whatever. I also ordered one of these, and I'll let y'all know how it fits: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XWW1WKX.
What’s the older model # for the 8 qt? I can’t find the video you did? I just bought the 6 1/2 qt & it’s damaged & it does’t have the basket just the little tray/rack
Yes, you can use silicone, but when making certain things, like baked goods, keep in mind that it does not transfer heat as well and you might have to increase your cooking time.
I discovered that the dehydrator rack can be used with my lunch-size Corelle plates for various things, including just reheating. I'll bet it would work with 9" aluminum pie plates, too, although I have not tried that; does anyone know? (The Corelle plates are oven safe, but they cannot be used with the broiler.) My rack is from Goldlion (I have their slings, too, and love them), and one thing people might not know is that sometimes with a Goldlion purchase they'll include a gift card that will allow you to pick up another item once you review the product you bought on Amazon. That's how I got a 3 qt sling for my IP "Baby Bear."
I've been using the dehydrator rack for my new grill grate and love it! I agree Goldlion has some great stuff! I have their brand in my Amazon store. Thanks for the tips! I never thought about using it for a casserole. 9" pans might be a tad too big though, I'll have to try it.
My diffuser broke and now only has 3 legs (because I did not know how it should be taken off and I squeezed it), and I cannot find a replacement. Amazon does not seem to carry them and the Ninja Foodi site is all sold out? Anywhere else?
You can shallow pan fry, but I would be careful about filling the pot too high with oil and some say that the temperature doesn't get hot enough to truly deep fry.
This is a great video! Thankyou how do I find your Amazon store and what you get from where ? I need some of those pans to do your cheesecakes :) also thankyou I had no idea that those leggs came off on my fryer basket (here I was cleaning around that and spinning them to clean omg🤦lol so thankyou) 😁
I just received my Ninja Foodi 6.5L and did not get the Cook & Crisp Basket. Pretty disapointed. I have been searching on Internet for one and could not find any. Will the compagny make more or can I cook a chicken straight in the ceramic pot?
Louise, I haven't seen any recipes for pot on pot cooking. I now have several different pans/grates etc....to do this, but not enough imagination to know what to cook with them. Any thoughts would be welcome. thx so much
Here is one I just did. I'm working on more, but they take a lot of time to perfect. Once perfected though, they are easy to make! ua-cam.com/video/ExgjZM4-eJY/v-deo.html
Have you had a chance to work with the new compact unit? I'm wondering if it's 5 quart size is too small and prevents it from being used for the layered cooking you show in your videos with the rack and also with cake pans. I'm got one for my elderly mom who cooks mostly for one and has a fairly small kitchen.
I haven't yet, but I have seen a lot of people who have gotten them, so I think I'll be ordering one soon. I was hoping the price would drop a bit, but it doesn't look like it will!

@@TheSaltedPepper You'll love it - I can't wait for that creative mind of yours to come up with all kinds of neat things to make in it!
I see several 3 qt. instant pots but none that come with silicone cover. Did you buy the cover separately?
I keep trying to link to it to show it (the Savarin pan set), and the pages keep disappearing. It's not available anymore.
YAY! Congrats on the Foodi! I love the idea of using the silicone lid to sit the pressure lid on!
Awesome, thank you!
Yay! Thank you! I know you will love the Foodi!
I'm finally confident to use my new #ninjafoodie
Louise, the little yellow silicone lid is for using on a coffee or tea cup. I bought a set of cup covers a few years ago. They work great. Artis Gray
That's a great tip! Jeff just used it for covering a little container of bacon grease.
Thank you so much for doing these videos. I am getting my first ninja food on Friday. I use instant pot and ip air fryer so super excited to get the ninja do it all! Haha but the accessories video is so helpful!
Your voice is so lovely! Thanks for the video
Thank you so much!
The tiny silicone pad can be used to cover a cup of tea, hot chocolate or coffee.
The small silicone lid is good for keeping your tea or coffee hot. You could also just cut slits into the larger silicone lid if you are concerned with trimming it a bit too small.
Good idea!
I love your channel and I'm learning from you how to use my ninja foodi . Thanks 😊
Thank you for all the great information.
You bet!
You're videos are so helpful!
Thank you so much!
Brilliant. Thanks a lot for your tips
Glad it was helpful!
Great video and thank you for sharing!
Thank you!
Thanks again for an informative video learn something every time
That’s wonderful!
The small silicone cover is for your coffee/herbal tea mug. Perfect for keeping the heat in when letting tea seep. :-)
Perfect!
I discovered that right away-so cool, right! No more reheating in the microwave!
Thank you for this video! I love using our Foodi !!!
Thank you!
I'm having trouble visualizing this with the trivet. Can you draw me a picture?
Cool. Nicely done Easy to understand. Thanks. Aussie Bob
Thank you!
That small silicone lid is good for coffee cups to keep hot longer
I've heard that!
What an absolutely amazing video. I just went and bought from Amazon because of you
Congratulations! I know you will love the Foodi!
Another great job. Thanks so much !
Thank you!
Thank you for this videos. I've had my ninja foodie for years and afraid to use until now.
Please do a video on hydration i want to make jurky😂
Excellent video. Thank you!
Thank you!
A outlet of large eye hook screws with your curable grips on the non hook end would solve picking up the handles cooking grate. 🥰
Thank you so much! I will pass that request on to my husband (video editor) for sure.
I have the small ones bought especially for wine or any glass cup to stop insects getting into you drink
wow the rack lifts the basket.........who knew.
You are a Godsend full of wonderful information, so much is making so much sense, like when I bake veggie fruit cakes for my birds, yup raw in the middle, ugh, hahahahahaha! Is the Ninja Foodi pressure cooker truly a non-stick pot?
Thank you! Yes, it is non-stick as long as you don't scratch it. It does wear with time and I usually replace it every year.
Have a Foodie on the way. Thanks lots, my husband will not be happy as he hates counter top appls.. Insta Pot on the way out and crock pot too.
I hope you love it!
You could use the little yellow pan cover on a ramekin.
Funny you mentioned that, I just did that last night when making a wing sauce!
you know that small yellow silicone lid - use it for on top of a cup of coffee. I have another brand i got and thats what i use it for. Like when you are delivering bkfst in bed to your loved one. i make my coffee and dawdle around in kitchen doing other stuff before i sit down and drink it so i use it to cover my coffee immediately and it keeps it hot..
Yes, someone else said that. I use a coffee cup with a lid, but I have found some uses for the little cover.
Thank you for the wonderful presentation. It was really great knowing about the accessories. I would like to know if I can use a stainless steel pan for pressure cooking or steaming ? Thank you 😊
sure you can as long as it fits!
I'm so glad you are enjoying the Foodi! I wouldn't use the cast iron with the pressure cooker function. The egg bite molds are in my Amazon store: amazon.com/shop/thesaltedpepper
Hi Louise I have a mini ninja what size round pan would I need thanking you so much 💕💕
How do I link to your store. I have been searching for accessories. Love the videos.
I just bought the newest 8 QT. foodie XL PC with the Probe. do all of these accessories come in the 8qt. size.
How can you replace the ninja foodi Pressure cooker the Little red cap the anti-clog cap cannot find a replacement for it nowhere I even called the company what can I do can I still be used without it I would love to hear from you I love your Channel watched it every day Salted and pepper I get so many great ideas from you thank you so much❤️
I would purchase a new pressure lid, I think they are around $20-25.
Hi Louise,
I recently purchased The 8 qt.
I do know that 2 of the 2" will fit stacked in the 6.5qt or the 8qt.
use grid rack you showed previously?
So beautiful! You made me look great for my husband. I'm cooking with you so much these days. Well done and keep up the great work. #mentorcooker
Thanks so much 😊 I'm so glad that you are finding the videos helpful!
@@TheSaltedPepper you're a blessing
yum just did 2 sourdough pizza in Foodi (cooker did not arrive on time) so no longer desperate - raining today so no kettle BBQ option either... very clear
I love sourdough!
I have the 11 in I would the bamboo steamers fit in my pot
Will the small silicone lid fit a ramekin? Addition: criss cross pans on top of each other on low rack.
Nice to know information: When baking potatoes outside in or over a campfire, use ALUMINUM nails pushed through the potatoes to conduct the heat to the center of the potato, it cooks more evenly and quicker. Question, how do you determine the heat and time when cooking multiples in the pot?
It really depends on what it is, so there isn't one blanket answer.
Use your small ones on a coffee mug! Xx
I just got my ninja foodie before I use it I will like to find those scratch prevention shoes. Can you tell me where I can find them.
I'm trying to get to that! It keeps being pushed back because I have been looking for a rack that will work and haven't found one yet.
@@TheSaltedPepper Ah, thank you!
What is the brand of 5he silicone covers?
Do you know if you can get a splatter screen for this ninja foodie while baking or air fry? Thanks
Not that I have seen.
What’s the older model # for the 8 qt? I can’t find the video you did? I just bought the 6 1/2 qt & it’s damaged & it does’t have the basket just the little tray/rack
Hi , can you use silicone in the ninja foodi please thanks ...ps your videos are very useful to all of us new to ninja
@@TheSaltedPepper I saw your video on the grill grate! It's taking every ounce of my willpower not to go buy it.
Is there a part 2 for PIP? How many pans do you suggest - One 8” and one 6” rounds + loaf pan?
My diffuser broke and now only has 3 legs (because I did not know how it should be taken off and I squeezed it), and I cannot find a replacement. Amazon does not seem to carry them and the Ninja Foodi site is all sold out? Anywhere else?
The only place I know of is the Ninja site, sorry!
Do you have a cookbook available?
I have a digital one with Fall inspired recipes: thesaltedpepper.com/flavorsoffallvip/?swcfpc=1
Can I deep fry with oil in the foodi on the sear setting?
You can shallow pan fry, but I would be careful about filling the pot too high with oil and some say that the temperature doesn't get hot enough to truly deep fry.
I am going to go broke buying all these accessories....lol. Good thing my husband feeds my kitchen appliance/gadget addiction....hehe
You and me both! LOL
Thank you so much! My amazon store is: amazon.com/shop/thesaltedpepper
Big audio upgrade from the earlier videos I have been watching today, great content btw
Thank you! It took us a little while, but we are always looking to improve.
What is your Amazon store link & your other club link I missed it. So sorry Louise x
Very informative video. I will definitely save it for future reference. Thank you.
I’m assuming these accessories are for the 6.5qt Foodi, right?
Bunny C yes, they work with both sizes, but the Foodi in the video is the 6.5 qt
The Salted Pepper thank you. I’ve ordered and now can’t wait for them to arrive.
Does anyone know what the rack is called that has the adjustable handles that she used to lift the pot out with?
Have you made a recipe for boxed, or made from scratch cornbread?
Not yet. I had one all tested and done and can't find the paper I wrote it down on. Looks like I'll be starting over.
@@TheSaltedPepper Awww thats too bad Louise. Sorry that happened to you. I imagine it takes a lot of time and patience testing recipes like you do.
Those accessories did not come with my unit .All I got was a small rack and a trivia.,where can you purchase a basket
Where can we order the basket?
What are your lighter pans made out of?
I’ve been binge watching your wonderful videos and charming personality! What model is yours? 302? Please and thank you 😊.
Thank you so much! I have the 302 which I use in most videos and then I also have the 305 and an 8 qt.
