Not when pressure cooking. I accidentally did it the first time and the pressure built up inside the pot and created a vacuum so I couldn’t open the lid 🙈 I always lead the lid off now, even when steaming ❤️
I recently bought a silicon sling from Amazon, a great help when lifting a roast chicken out of the pot, and a set of wire trays to stack different foods
Rice seems to work best when you steam it. You use the steam function. Leave your button to vent not seal. Again I would refer you to the salted pepper. She makes some super great rice that you can serve as a meal. Also I know you’re in another country but here in my state, there’s only two that I am feeding however I discovered this really cool trick. I make a big pot of food say lasagna or enchiladas in the Foodi, then I use plastic pans similar to the aluminum ones you showed, and I freeze a two person portion. Then I pull it out of the freezer and vacuum pack It. You can pull out the frozen meal, throw it in your food for about 13 minutes on pressure cook and Voila dinner is served. So I cook ahead of time most of the time. We eat the meal once then I vacuum pack the rest and when I’m in a hurry or I don’t feel like cooking I throw it in the ninja and we have enchiladas or lasagna or whatever I have packed.
This is a really useful video - thank you so much. (My ninja doesn't come until tomorrow and it's all a bit daunting😯😂). You have a wonderful presenting style and I can only see you becoming more and more popular with your ninja posts!
So happy to have found your UA-cam channel, I'm a new owner and it is so much easier to relate to you than the American sites. Your hacks for pot in pot on a budget are really useful. Thank you
Thank you, that's really nice to hear! I struggled finding UK equivalents for the things Americans mention in videos so did a little research and some trial and error 😊
the same as mine. But I am looking for a cast iron casserole that will fit into the pot, Sounds crazy but like you we are only two, although I often cook enough for four and then freeze half. I love what I call my home made ready meals - saves on electricity.
I didn’t know how to put those racks together until I watched this video. Only in America I had to put the top on upside down from how you put it on! Thank you
ok the rack u need is at walmart about 12 dollars but the clue is finding them in uk i am in california so check under bakers round multiple size cooling racks were u live you will find it under baking, canning air frying just keep searching when u find u will see that it is almost perfect it has little legs but the only way to get it out of the crisp pot is to use a fork but you food wont fall through the grid holes u have helped with my rice problem i think i have found the tins.
Immediately after cooking use pot holders remove the inner pot, fill with soapy water and soak your basket for about 20 minutes. Then clean them all. It’s a breeze. Also you owe it to yourself since you have a ninja to watch the American show called “the salted pepper” on UA-cam. Not only will you get cooking ideas step-by-step, but she also gives a ton of other handy information. I highly recommend Her UA-cam videos. She is also on Facebook although I’m not on Facebook. Also be cautious about using so much aluminum. You’re young but someday you might end up with Alzheimer’s. I use parchment paper. And avoid aluminum foil. Just some little comments from sunny Southern California. Have a wonderful day.
I noticed that it's all from over the pond doing reviews! I think they get different stuff in their boxes!! Thank you for this info as I'm going to buy a smart lid model.
I don’t have the small rack with the 6 litre ninja. I think the rack you’re referring to is a canning rack and they’re very expensive! Your tips for getting around the American “hacks” are excellent. Thank you.
No, I didn't get it either, but didn't realise until I'd used it a few times. Could really do with that extra rack. I did buy one (not a ninja one), but it was too short. I'm trying to find one, but can't.
The rack was doing my head in as well 😂 Cheers. Agree with you 100% about how stupid it is not having the rack sit inside the basket. Thanks for uploading this. I think the Ninja is fast becoming a movement! Regarding the steam I just place a chef spoon or big stainless serving spoon over the vent to disperse it.
By the way I want those stainless steel pots! I purchased a stainless steel inner pot for my ninja foodie. I got it on Amazon for $29. Like I said I try to stay away from aluminum and that inner pot is aluminum. It also doesn’t hold up very well when you’re banging all those metal trivets in and out. I actually bought two ninja foodie sometimes I use them both for dinner..
Excellent & informative video done with humor (always a plus). I haven't checked as yet but full names and any links to those assessories would be extremely helpful if not already noted. Thanks for your time and talent. Be safe out there.
Hi. Thanks for making this video it was great. Genius method of lifting the basket out using the rack 😁. The link to the steam diverter isn't working... Any chance you could send the info if you read this? Thanks again.
I took delivery of my 9 in 1 foodi this week but it came with only one wire rack which as you will know allows you to have it fitted high or low in the pot. It didn’t come with the small rack so it’s a little difficult to layer foods. Did your foodi come with two wire racks or have you bought the small one separately?
I think the rack must be slightly different on the 14 in 1 as the leg bits don't seem to bend the way you're did to get the air fryer basket out 😭. Thanks for the hacks though 😊
Do you leave the lid on the Indian stainless steel containers when steaming rice etc?
Not when pressure cooking. I accidentally did it the first time and the pressure built up inside the pot and created a vacuum so I couldn’t open the lid 🙈 I always lead the lid off now, even when steaming ❤️
Have you attempted dhokla in the Steele dabba in the Ninja?
@@sujatajobanputra4772 No, I’ve never made dhokla before but I have seen people making them in these containers
Great tips, just purchased a Ninja Foodi and I'm reading all I can to learn the best way to use it.
I recently bought a silicon sling from Amazon, a great help when lifting a roast chicken out of the pot, and a set of wire trays to stack different foods
I love to see when people share their great experiences with others. Your 'HACKS' are beautiful and useful. Thanks
Thanks so much
I like that last hack. Thank you. For the steam release, I put a bunched up tea towel over the valve and it dissipates the steam.
Good idea, thanks! 😊
I love the way you lifted the basket out at the end using the rack!!
Are you still using this a year later?
Thanks. Yes, two years on, I still use it almost every day - often twice a day. My most used kitchen appliance by far! 😊
What an amazing video
. Great hacks. It's good to get a decent UK channel thank you so much.
You're very welcome. Thanks so much! :)

Thank you so much, that's so kind of you. Start by air frying some frozen chips or something easy, and you'll soon get the hang of how it works ❤️

I’m from the US and I found this video helpful!!😊
I'm so glad 🤗
I didn’t know how to put those racks together until I watched this video. Only in America I had to put the top on upside down from how you put it on! Thank you
Wow such useful tips! Been looking for a video like this from someone here rather than America. Thank you!!!
Ah thanks! I was the same, so I did a bit of research and found some alternatives. Glad you found it helpful!
This has been so helpful, regarding the steam diverted, I have heard they are not very successful. Thank you x
Thank you - that’s good to know x
Great video, thanks for sharing.
Thank you, thank you for showing how to use the double rack
Gonna be making a trip to Poundland. Thank you Nishi
You’re welcome!
Great video so happy to have found you on here, I’m going to use my stainless steel dabas from now on.

I don’t have the small rack with the 6 litre ninja.

Thanks so much! I think you may get fewer accessories with the 6L, but I'm not completely sure

Good video. Just bought one today

The rack is really fiddly, isn't it? 😂 Great idea about the spoon over the vent, I'll have to try it. Thanks!
I have spent ages trying to get the rack in the basket, at last I know it isn’t me. Must have been designed by a man!
Nice one Nisha thanks for the tips 👍
the top of the rack that comes off, goes on to the top of the crisping basket ( with a twist) to help lift it out of the ninja
Great video! I have been trying to figure out the rack for 1 week 😄
They don’t make it easy, do they? 😂
Can u please point me to the sliver tins please thanks
Thank you, you are a genius to us newbies! Thank you for all the tips!!

I got the new one and am not happy it has a tray and not the basket. Also the wire rack is different and the the rungs are really far apart.
the rack u r refering to is a canning rack
Thank you!
cooking liner is parchment paper
