Yep, all they see is the $ signs, and will do whatever it takes to get whatever money they can. They typically have many victims on the hook at once, so I'm sure he would gladly type "sorry" in a text message to get that $25 while he's probably scamming someone else for hundreds of dollars at the same time.
My friend Mike Rafone had exactly the same experience as you. The scammer appreciated the $25 gift card and used to change his life. He is no longer scamming.
You giving this scammer a small reward for being “honest” reminds me of how I used to view apologies from the felons I supervised as a correctional officer in Alaska’s only maximum security men’s prison (my husband was also a CO there). If I had to talk to an inmate about behavior that I found to be unacceptable, and they were willing to apologize, the slate was wiped clean. I didn’t care so much whether or not their apology was sincere, what was most important to me was the apology itself. Thankfully, no bad behavior, that was ever apologized for, was repeated. After I left my job as a CO I was blessed to become a full-time artist. Being an artist is not only more relaxing it’s also more fulfilling. 😄

Its very irresponsible giving these people any money. This scammer simply gave a fake apology for his $25 (I'm sure hes done worse for less).
That $25, might seem insignificant to you and me but is a lot of money in Nigeria. ($1,671 to be exact.) That's probably 2 months rent in his scam shack. PG just bought this guy more time to scam another victim.
Finally, he didnt convert these people out of goodness and sheer will...he *paid* each and every one of them. Who is to say they didnt go back to their old ways. Back to scamming? Something to think about dave

5 people you say? They're still doing the right thing today? Wow. That's great. You know hes been doing this for 25 years right? (At least that's what Google says).
That's not a good turn over dave. Scambaiting is about wasting scammers time and resources on the baiter rather than an actual victim. *Not rehabilitation*.
Certainly not actually GIVING scammers any money. He's break the #1 Scambaiting rule.

Proven? He's been doing this for almost 25 years. He converted 5 people? (maybe, who knows if they went back). Scambaiting is about wasting scammers time and resources so they aren't using it on actual victims. You're not supposed to give them *anything* .
You know what $25 USD can do in Nigeria? Thats like a months rent for them. It's weeks of food and supplies to keep them scamming. PG's actions were irresponsible knowing the abysmal odds of making this guy good.
5:00 my favourite reference. classic book, classic movies
7:47 My wife (Borat)
Bro is having a field day with these AI images lmao
Gosh these scammers are so stupid 😂
I like the idea of sending a one time blank photo - thats a great way to frustrate them
absoluty love your work man
Man, when the word "Kindly" shows up, you know for sure that it's a scam. 😂
I get the message you're trying to give but all you're doing is rewarding a scammer and making him continue what they're doing since the amount you gave him they'd have to work for at least one week so why would they get a job?
I feel like using puns on a scammer should be a series. 😂
YOO BEN DOVER PLEASE HEART MY COMMENT
Smh 😒
They wouldnt get one cent from me.
"I'd rather that worm come in here and eat you all alive!"
No need for the AI generated images at the end :/ Do better
Not everyone hates computers. A1 is cool.
With that money you can easily buy two tickets to Paradise!!
Please stop using AI-generated images to illustrate your point.
fr omg☠️
"How do you like them apples?" also appears in Rebel without a Cause
10:29 come on man, don't use AI slop in your videos. you're better than that.
womp womp new traveler, he's been using ai for a while!
@@VerifiedWompWomp ok? doesn't change my opinion.
LMAO .."word salad" Awesome description!!
I really enjoy how you have hope in these folks when many, myself included, would not. I know you're Mormon and I tend to disagree with your beliefs and organized religion in general, but there's no doubt that you're good people. You demonstrate that in a way that is informative, entertaining, and compassionate. Keep up the good work.
....eleven pop culture references, most of them about money, and no Shane McMahon 'Here comes da monaaaaayyyy'?
Thank you for taking the time. I appreciate the explanation and share it with all my stupid friends.
As if "Ned Flanders" wasn't funny enough... He came back with "Ben Dover" 😂
We got ta move these refrigerators......we got ta move these color TVeeeeeeeeees
Thank you Mr. Ben for providing us with a video that showcases on what scams we need to look for.
Oh my gosh, I loved this! I hope the scammer learned something from this. I love the lessen you taught him, and how you kept your word. I hope spring is eternal. You’re a good man! And this was brilliantly funny! 😂❤
Man, those arm robbers are scary..... I wonder what they use the arms for 🤔
The arms they steal are handy.
I sometimes feel that scammers are just behind on any pop culture related things so they don’t burst out laughing with the stuff they hear. Great job Ben!
Do you really expect him to understand? Different cultures bro
Even if the scammer doesn't do the right thing, I like that your left the possibility open for them to do so. If they reach out afterward, please share
Love your videos but snoop definitely delivered the “mind on my money and my money on my mind” line a little smoother… 😂
You. missed an opportunity. When you said "I'm just excited" you could have said "I'm so excited and I just can't hide it"
I just read a newspaper article about scams where it mentioned if you see the word “kindly” used in a message, it is likely a scam as Americans don’t use that word. It said generally it is a word used in former British colonies. Just as you said in an earlier video.
Agree. They often use overly-formal, old-fashioned phraseology from the days of empire that NO ONE uses today.🇬🇧
Fun, fun, fun. That is the 12th reference 😂😂😂
You should've reminded him that he'd already said your cousin Ben Dover was also a winner. So you could just mooch off his winnings.
"I'm on my way" from misery to happiness to glee... 🎵
Thanks to your videos, those "Microsoft" scammers is such a meme. One of them called me the other day and I couldn't say anything when I picked up. I just thought it was so funny. I just laughed and then hung up. They did not call back.
Awesome well done here! I always tell people in other scam forums about your channel. Nice that you gave this guy a chance. Will he change? Most likely not but you never know.
It's so sad to know someone out there has or going to fall for this scam. Unbelievable

I'm planning on a software that'll help prevent such scams. What do you think it should be like.
I love that part and the story behind where Wolverine was given the candle sticks.
Charles Woodley ... Chuck Wood... WoodChuck ... VERMIN. 😂😂😂
I got 20 pop culture references in! Where are my flowers?
I NEVER watch ads.. whether they are inserted by YT or they are sponsored in the video. But that was THE BEST SEGWAY I EVER SAW.... so for that.. I'm watching the ad!
