this makes alot of sense. i have two friends who exclusively eat meats and fats all day. they are so ripped and shredded.
Analog trading they are probably doing keto or atkins diet. I personally do keto, its helped me lose fat and gain muscle quite fast...
I'm vegan and have same results...eating a lot of carbs. Everybody is different so listen to your own body please.

Cool. Yeah, I've been doing fasting and a calorie restricted diet. I learned that my body really wants fat and protein more than carbs. I also learned that bread makes me retain weight while I do a low-calorie diet. I stopped eating bread.
Been 5 months eating less than 5 grams of carbohydrates per day and I feel better. And I don’t feel any of those symptoms. I eat primarily meat, fish, cheese, butter, and cream.

Since cutting carbs I need to drink much more water (the clue in the name carbo-hydrate), every other side effect is positive. Running on fats instead of sugars means I am in control of my emotions, have increased mental clarity and have better performance day to day.

There’s a difference between fasting and starving. Starving is where your body has one out of all the fat so it starts eating. Fasting is just not eating for a certain period of time. Stop saying that cutting carbs is starving yourself when it’s not.

well i cut them out without my doc cause they just want me to continue buying meds and keep me coming for their pay. well i searched and watched a lot of videos here yt and lots of people who did and shared their experiences and boy i made it. no more meds for my diabetes and even felt better

I don’t know what doctor you go to that makes you pay for meds and such but I’m a doctor and when patients tell me they would like to restrict their carb intake I say “ok” and then just tell them a list of common signs to look for if any problems arise and any other questions they may have. Don’t think all doctors are for the money lol. But I hope everything is going well though!! Cheers!

I don't eat carbs (yes, including fruit and carby vegetables) and I experience 100% the opposite. The key is to add plenty of fats. lots of studies to back this up, just do some research. low carb low fat is bad. low carb high fat is good!

Well everything has to be balanced, if you cut carbs and high fat your cholesterol will spike which is not so good , so just maintain a balanced diet and if you want carbs eat the natural carbs potatoes and get carbs from fruits vegetables .

cutting carbs means cutting bread, pasta, rice, baked things in general which is very hard to do because every meal has at least one element of these... like.. you eat fish with rice, you eat meat with pasta, you eat chicken with rice or bread, you eat cheese with bread, everything you eat has to contain carbs in it which is just very hard to get rid off...
You have to enjoy what you eat, and eat till your full, a lot of great athletes just eat and are active which make them great

Its hard but its true you feel less hungry am on a diet i cut carbs complelty rice pasta bread the only carbs i get is from bananas and some sugar from fruits but just cut the bread rice and pasta by the way potatoes are healthier than rice and pasta , pasta is processed and rice has a lot of sugar in it well bread is also processed.
Going on 3 weeks keto and intermittent fasting I’ve never felt better I’ve lost 7 lbs the first ten days while when I was on low carb those 7 lbs took me a month

Coming up on 4 years in February. Down 120 lbs (gonna go out on a limb and say that isn't all water...) reversed prediabetes and fatty liver, got off blood pressure meds and improved my thyroid meds enough to lower my synthroid dose (been on it since I was 15).
There are many non-scale benefits if you stick to it ... and of course the scale victories are good too, if that's your goal.
I also wento on keto for 3 weeks - lost stubborn 3 kg and went back to eating carbs. The weight did not went up again! I will do one more 3 weeks keto. You need to keep in mind that this is a deficient diet and woman should not be on it more that 6 months. It can mess up with your hormones if you are healthy. On the other side, if you have hashimoto or PCOS this is a healing diet for you.
This ad paid for by the grain industry. If you stop eating "grains" of any kind, you are still getting plenty of carbs, plenty of very healthy fibre rich carbs in the form of vegetables and fruit. I stopped eating grains in all their forms and the only thing that happened is I felt better for it, lost weight, had more energy. Vegetables have carbs and if you are filling up on those, you are getting more than enough healthy carbs to fuel the body.
I drastically reduced my carbs, increased my protein not for weight loss but a1c. I had visible abs before from weight training, caulastincts and insanity workouts. I gained a little muscle and little bit of my hair back. I increased the performance during my workouts. I still have my fiber one cereal.

Yes, Gastritis can be a real problem. So, i usually provide my patients with anti acid medications in first week of zero carb diet.

the body will break down protein as well but not as much as fat because protein is highly valuable. If u want to maintain muscle, u have to consume enough protein and work out frequently.

Carbs help build muscle if u use it as energy but if it’s not used as energy it’s stored as fat. Simple.
But cutting carbs is not the answer for weight loss it’s about using carbs wisely.

When u go keto u can get diarrhoea because grains contain soluble fibre that help you excrete waste. You may get ibs like constipation a sn diarrhoea because of the increased caffeine and dairy intake on ketogenic diet
I've also heard that once you re-introduce carbs into your diet after losing the amount of weight you want, the weight comes back plus more. Fad (yoyo) diets are not a good way to lose weight and keep it off for a long amount of time.

From a biochemical perspective eating no carbohydrates simply means your body uses the stored sugar (Glykogen) and than fats (as Keton-Bodies) and Protein (muscels) and makes sugar out of it (Since your body cant survive without sugar and can't turn fat into sugar).

When u don’t eat carbs here is what happens
1. You may feel more restless, excited, anxious and stressed than usual. Because your blood sugar levels drop dramatically, your adrenal hormones rapidly increases which include adrenaline , cortisol (the alertness hormone) and norepinephrine (the fight or flight hormone) to compensate for the lack of glucose in the body.
This can make u hypersensitive to surroundings and increase anxiety
2. You might also feel more depressed because carbohydrates help our body make serotonin (the feel good chemicals) that regulates mood and sleep. You might also get more irritable as wel.
3. You will feel less hungry and your metabolism will slow down.
Because of lower serotonin levels and higher cortisol, digestion may be more sluggish and a person’s appetite will reduce.
Other reasons include dehydration due to glycogen depletion and loss of water and also the decrease in fibre intake which mainly comes from complex carbs.
4. You will be dehydrated.
Because of glycogen depletion especially if you workout and increased salt cravings, you will find that u urinate more frequently and require more water due to Getting less hydration from food. Eating more fruits and vegetables can help.
5. Fatigue.
Obviously without carbs your body won’t have enough glycogen to maintain energy levels and dehydration cna make it worse. Lack of sleep due to producing less tryptophan and more cortisol combined with a higher caffeine dependency can lead to fatigue on ketogenic diets.
Dark chocolate and eating carbs during workouts can help combat this.
6. Poorer muscle recovery and increased risk of injuries.
Your muscles need carbs to recover and a lack of it can slow down recovery. Carbs fuel your muscles so when u don get enough, your body becomes more injury prone.

BTW pizza donuts and cake all have lots of fat in them. Of course people will loose weight when they cut them
Michelle Loomis Cutting carbs is starvation? Not really. I used to be a high carb vegan and then I realized that not only was this diet tasteless, but I was fat on it. Now I'm on a high fat high protein vegan diet and I'm slowly losing weight.
I eat generally hi-carb and vegetarian. I weigh 115 and am on the low end of average BMI for my height. The difference is WHAT carb I eat. I go for as unprocessed and as hardy as I can go. And eat a variety of high-fiber grains. Like wild rice, black rice, amaranth, whole oats, oat bran, whole wheat flour, spelt, real potatoes, beans, fruits, etc. I have some "bad" ones in there too, but I've had the same sugar jar for around 2 years and go through a little bottle of honey every 2 or so months. I'm not vegan, but IMO if your food was "tasteless" you probably weren't doing it right. There is not a single day that I envy my carnivores' diet because my food is tasty, diverse and vibrant.

I'm not Vegan for one. I'm ovo-lacto vegetarian. So I still consume dairy and egg products. My fats include extra virgin olive oil (most of my fats), real butter (not margarine), peanut butter (not usual commercial brands like Jiffy, but a brand that's only ingredient states: Peanuts), whole milk here and there, cheese, and almonds. Whenever I buy my things I go for the whole fat options. I don't believe in low fat anything and I use coconut oil more for my skin the eating it. But even if I did, it shows more mixed results than being terrible for us. If I were vegan, I would probably just be using more olive oil and nuts.
bluedreams517 unfortunately a lot of Olive Oil is bad as well and nuts would actually contain too many carbs for a real Low-Carb diet :(
you only live once, why stop eating delicious food. I would eat more pizzas and hamburger.
