- The biggest reasons for Optimism for South Carolina heading into the 2024 season. Andrew was the man but look forward to a new perspective of our beloved Gamecocks.
This team will be solid , experienced, and deep defensively. The offensive is young and inexperienced. The oline needs a year or two to develop from a strength and continuity standpoint. However, the oline probably has 4 guys that will hear their names called in the first two rounds. I'm really big on Jawarn Howell. He is the back who has not been injured. I look for him to carry a massive share of the workload. The offense has got to be physical and able to grind that clock when needed. I am tired of looking at the schedule and saying how tough it is. I want the other teams to start seeing us on the schedule and saying , i don't know how we're gonna beat the Gamecocks. We should embrace going to Lexington Kentucky and collecting rent. We get to 4-0 , and perception will change in a hurry.

my bold take is that we're going into that ole miss game 4-0. Hopefully going into it as a night game at Willy B!!!
If Sellars balls out with a solid run game & what I think is going to be a very improved & good defense then 9 wins isn’t out of the question & yes maybe 10
Correct! A solid performance from the offensive line will open all options up, along with more solid running back options.
Giving the quarterback reasonable options instead of being rushed and tucking the ball in and running every few plays, should actually throw off defenses, and help keep a quarterback healthier, and happier. As goes the offensive line, so goes the Gamecocks season. Hard to change what a defense is going to focus on when they are constantly getting penetration and a rushed or in a protective position quarterback. Rattler did the best with what he had to work with, considering. Hope he gets to start sometime this season with the Saints.
Your right Chris this schedule is not as daunting as ppl try to make it seems to be. I think we're gonna surprise ppl and have some upsets
My biggest reason for optimism is Shawn Elliot hopefully being able to teach them to block.
I agree Martin , I think Elliot is gonna have his hands all over that offensive line. If we can keep that play book skinny and execute at a high level, I think this offense can do some really good things.
Welcome to the show Chris. I think I agree. Nyck Harbor showed some really good flashes last year and I think he can take the next step this year.
I think Jared Brown is going to surprise shine this season in a pretty big way

What happened to Andrew?
LSU is replacing their best QB since Burrow, no way they are better. Ole Miss on the road will need more than 27 to win. If T Rob is the secondary coach, Bama wont cover the spread, I pick USC straight up. Barring catastrophic injuries like last year, we will be in every game. I see this as a tune up year, 2025 the team will be mostly 3-4 year players and better equipped for this tough schedule.
