- MR. JONES brings to the screen the extraordinary and powerful story of the real-life Welsh journalist who uncovered Stalin’s genocidal famine in Ukraine, which killed almost 10 million.
1933. Gareth Jones (James Norton, Happy Valley, McMafia) is an ambitious Welsh journalist who gained fame after his report on being the first foreign journalist to fly with Hitler. On leaving a government role, Jones decides to travel to Moscow in an attempt to get an interview with Stalin himself.
Hearing murmurs of government-induced famine, Jones travels clandestinely to Ukraine, where he witnesses the atrocities of man-made starvation. Deported back to London, Jones publishes an article revealing the horrors he witnessed but is accused of being a liar by those who have an interest in silencing him. As the death count mounts, Jones has to fight for the truth…
MR. JONES also stars Vanessa Kirby (The Crown) and Golden Globe® Nominee Peter Sarsgaard (Jarhead).

Everybody must watch this film! Europe was blind at that time, and it's blind now! Ukraine hasn't got war jets and rockets to fight this evil, thousands innocent die and the world sees nothing!

This movie should play in some theaters worldwide beacuse this movie looks good.. This a Oscars worthy film or Oscars bait film
the production set was phenominal, the costume looks good and wearable, great cast of actors and etc..

I sometimes see people complain that there are no films about Communist atrocities. Those people would be intrigued to learn about Satan Never Sleeps, One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, The Killing Fields, China Cry, Archangel, The Lives of Others, The Way Back, Child 44, Bitter Harvest, The Death of Stalin, and Mr. Jones.
In your opinion, which is better? Mr. Jones or Bitter Harvest?
@@SharonJackson13 Haven't seen Bitter Harvest (the local library has it, I just haven't got much desire to watch it). Mr. Jones is quite good.

I think that I called him North instead of Jones. This is a very eye opening film, because shows how much the same behind involved in Britain and Stalin's Russia. CLEARLY proves that it just depended on what side and political ideologies being used for the deception on either side of the fence. What countries citizenship had.
Should I just not share all that I have the ability to SEE? Certainly not doing anything good for me.
It's an excellent film, also includes George Orwell as a character in the film, and it's being shown again right now, and I'm just watching it again.
