If you think it's bad in the UK, you should see things in the US. Thousands of children die every year in public housing due to various health/safety/maintenance issues.

Disgraceful if that’s the case in US.Our so called Liberal Democracy means little when everything is getting worse in regulation of the things that should be a starting point in our rights.

Yeah… those aren’t correct numbers re: public housing. MAGA lies and fear mongering never end.

I have to say that I’ve home visited near Seattle for 20 years and our public housing is very nice. But we’re a blue state and care about people, so…

The sad thing is that the current UK government is following the same model as the worst practice in the US, things will only get worse unless there is a change in attitude or a change in government

I went through living hell helping my niece in temporary accomodation. The stories I could tell!!! I was in an impossible situation to have her and her three children, all with special needs, and she was in an impossible situation for two whole years. I don't know how either of us, or my poor little precious nieces and nephew survived the horrid two years!!!! She moved seven times in two years, from one horror place to another. At last, they were given a nice large council home, which should have been given to her from the get go! You can at least start by looking after your own first.

Something needs to be done about the amount of mould there are in these housing facilities. :O :O

Totally. And even suburban homes in the UK are problematic. Houses were built without much insulation, and climate change is making the weather damper and more messed up. In climates like Canada, homes are (mostly) well insulated, or at least they have to be to cope with the weather. The UK has a real disaster on its hands.

In Japan, which is routinely much, much hotter than the UK in the summer and often colder in the winter, with more annual rainfall and much higher humidity throughout the year, and where hardly anybody has either double-glazing or central heating, this problem of household mould is all but non-existant. Some in the UK may be down to structural defects (failing damp proof course, leaky roof...etc) but much of it is down to modern lifestyle and a reluctance to ventilate properly. Even cold, flimsy tents sacrifice heat for ventilation to prevent condensation, and homes are no different.

The rich get richer, the vunerable and poor are abandoned by their own society. This is happening globally, homelessness, insufficient income to afford rent, food, health. So much for paying taxes. Governments need to answer for their dereliction of duty towards their citizens.

Do we really need ACTORS & a production to tell us what state the globe is in right now.. WAKE UP! Celebrities., are you serious. Just go to any part of the world where there’s CRISIS & you’ll see the TRUTH. These actors got paid . Real sufferers of atrocities don’t get anything but pain & hurt.

No one would've clicked if 2 stars weren't pretending to promote a series. The question is how many that were ready to watch the show are ready to support the reality?

Mold in homes is caused by too much moisture and not enough ventilation. Peoples' use of their homes has changed over the decades in ways that increase the moisture in the home while reducing ventilation. People no longer dry their clothes outdoors, they dry them indoors. People take more showers which increases air moisture. People rarely open windows these days. Mold takes a long time to build up. It used to be common knowledge that if you saw mold on walls you would wash it off with a cloth soaked in water with a bit of bleach. 50 years ago most people knew how to look after their homes and themselves. These days a lot of people expect the State to look after them. It's called learned helplessness and is the result of a nanny State, an expanding welfare system and the breakup of the nuclear family.
