2019 Nissan 370Z Nismo I did an evening session at Donington on 07/08/21. A GR Yaris like yours came up behind me and completely humiliated me, just like you did to that M4 haha. I just couldn't compete with the braking performance and the way it's able to go around corners. They're an amazing little car! Nice driving mate
Amazing vid and driving!! I have a GR Circuit pack too, at the moment is still new and stock. But with a Milltek exhaust and air intake waiting to be installed!! Cant wait to try my first Track day with it. Congratulations and keep on like this!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
No way to over power it on the straights. That M4 has much power for that. But for cornering, the Yaris GR is almost second to none. If the tracks was shorter and the corners more sharper, that M4 is toast.
You looked to be going well fella, I was there in the red GR, not long had it and that was my first trackday, the guy in the M4 was there in our group but I don't know him.
Nice... you showed us exactly how the Yaris handles.. and it's far better than I thought it might be.. what a capable car, thanks for uploading. I'm really tempted by the GR but I'll probably never do track days and its probably too capable and stable for the road if that makes sense. I guess I'm wondering if I could have as much if not more fun in a Fiesta ST on country roads. Have a less expensive, averagely fast and less stable but fun car... or this quicker weapon that would have you having to drive at licence losing speeds to be able to have the same fun?... and its not an easy decision to make.
GRY is in a different league compared to Fiesta ST. You can’t really compare them as the similarities are limited to similar weight, size and 3 cyl engine. Remember, Toyota is losing money on GRY, it’s a rally homologation special and it has 4wd. I honestly can’t understand why one would go for Fiesta ST - it’s just a pumped up Fiesta, nothing special about it. And the price is somewhat similar yet the cars are not. Don’t think too much and get the GRY if you have a chance. You won’t regret it
Looks a capable car even though i didn't like it on short test drive. I think they just look a bit weird and tall when you were following that black one.
This!! The gr is being driven smoothly but the bimmer is being bullied terribly!! I had my First shot in a yaris last week and I was Impressed ! Not many factory cars perform on track. My Friends gr just about keeps up with my race prepped clio !!
I went for this: www.deadweightindustries.co.uk/products/touge-500 it's direct replacement in Euro spec and I've had zero issues since fitting it. Bet it sounds awesome with the intake! That's definately on the list for me
Fortunately, the M4 driver has no idea about proper lines etc. Approx. flying laps: 1:25.7, 1:25.4, 1:25.7, 1:23.5, 1:23.8. Approximately GT86 on semislicks territory.

Really nice peddling there! Lovely and smooth and nice calm gearshifts! very good driving. nice catch at 7:55 too!

Everting I love (and hate) about trackdays! Top job, well driven🤟

That "pop and bang" map really helping the M4 here 🥴
Hahah that save was quality. Nice laps there!
Great video. Loved it. Good to see GR Yaris' capabilities when well driven !
Need a bumper sticker "Eats M4's for breakfast".
what set up are you using? sport or track

Ahh yeah with the Gold wheels, it looks great! He was going well in the M4, makes a hell of a noise too!
@@StottyZrCheers, yes it was noisy🙄🙄🤣🤣

Do you use sport or track mode?
Great driving
Thanks! I always use track mode at the moment
Good driving Scott, would love to see how that compares to my MK4 Trophy R, what power is your Yaris

Mate the yaris looks amazing easily to drive, the bmw looks more on edge.
Money buys a M4 Comp but doesn’t buy driving talent.

brilliant, taking my GR on 28th for the 3rd time this year. How you set the car up transmission wise?
Brilliant circuit isn't it! I always have the car in track mode with all assists off, may bump into to at some point if you go so often!
@@StottyZr 👍🏼😎 long press or quick press on the traction button?
Always long press!
Great driving man. What mods do you have on your GR?
Camber bolts, removed rear seats & lightweight battery saving ~45kg. It's very good out of the box!
@@StottyZr awesome thank man. Going to look into the lightweight battery. Just fitted an MST intake. Great bit of kit 👍

it really sounds like you have an intake in the video have you changed the panel filter or anything just seems louder inside than mine 😆
@@StottyZr Nice, please and what tires and dimension? No problem with rear dif overhaeting while track so hard?

M4 driver not using good lines or full width of track. I have both cars. And the m4 driven well would leave gr standing.
Of course. The power differential is too much. But the Yaris should have the advantage in corners and braking due to being so much lighter.
100 percent correct 👍
Could you please let us know the difference between those two capabilities? Thanks
Mallory Park would suit the gr
Done that a couple of times, GR Yaris is mega there
That's on my list. I'm doing Bedford for the first time on Monday too.
Might take the gr next year it's only 10mins from me used to go Rockingham with my old gt4 & Bruntingthorpe
