- Had a great play with a well matched Megane R26 right up until the checkered flag at a Cadwell evening session.

Every track day you go to in the UK, has a Renaultsport of some description, giving the bigger cars something to think about. They are a proper drivers car, regardless if you like them or not.
that video just made the 07 / 08 plate megane look amazing.
Neither driver is really pushing, but just goes to show how good Megane was, and how good a semi homologated rally car can also be at the track. straight out of the box. I also have a GR and love it for B roads

Didn't hear a tyre squeak all through the video. The GR was definitely quicker into a corner and could have been pushed harder thru it.
Was that R26R modded? Either way it's mighty impressive, made your Yaris GR-Four looks like child's play.
The Meganes handling is amazing
100% not standard. I have a yellow one and it has much more bodyroll. This car as a minimum has half cage, coilovers, semi slicks, race seats and minimum 270bhp.

@@davieheartattack sorry but the only mod is that it is stripped out? Pull the other one. Coilovers, better brakes, a cage and stripped out mean it is a track car.

I love my megane r26... bought it hoon around in last year for £2900 and I easily beat a 2022 golf gti the other week on a B road blast . Lol

I have an R26. Great car but it is making way for a Yaris next week. You cant keep them forever. Also that R26 has racing seats, cage , coilovers, peobably semi slick tyres and likely more bhp than standard.

Remove Rear seats & lightweight battery to save 45kg, then just some camber bolts! It's an astonishingly capable car from the factory :)

If you had R888r like the Megane you would of been quite a bit faster, the R888r is a full on semi slick track tyre, whereas your Goodyear supersport is a road tyre. Get a set for GR and you will be lapping another second or two faster per lap.
I intend on putting 255/35 Nankang AR1s on, will be very interesting to see how fast it laps then! At the moment I'm happy with the cheap and robust SS's while I improve my driving skills
@@StottyZr I have Goodyear F1 supersport on my R26 great tyre to just turn up and do a track day. AR1 are brilliant and one of the best. I’ve had cup 2 also had Yokohama A048 which were great.
A competition for the ugliest hot hatch .............should have had a civic type r there as well :)
