Some of these steam locos are extremely rare British classics I Hope the Pak government has ensured these masterpieces are preserved. I enjoyed and love this video thanks so much for posting this video.
I recall M-class meter gauge 4-4-0 locomotives in service in Southern Railway as far back as 1963. It is amazing to see them in action in 1988.
It's miraculous to have been able to see in such a late decade classic inside cylinder 4-4-0 locos in true British style still at work as if nothing had happened! The BESA 4-4-0 Standard Passenger engines built for the Indian Railways are amongst the most elegant engines ever made to my mind. Luckily, at least one survives.
My father the late C.E. Wilson from Rohri was a Railway Engineer on the XC Engines and drove the big XC engines for the Mail and Passenger trains until the Diesel Engines arrived in the 50's and also trained on the new Diesel Engines. But during my last visit to Rohri I found the Railway and buldings in a dilapitated state and also the Raiway Institute. When the Anglo-Indians ran the Railway before partition Rohri was a great city to live. Now all the charm has gone forever!!!

5 years old, i remember my trip from Islamabad to Karachi on a train with steam locomotive. Miss that so much.

In India they repair all steam engines and now they are on tracks.in Pakistan I don't think so single one is available ?
Most have been preserved and planted installed outside railway stations as landmarks, some have been revived for steam safari tourism.
Mostly European countries n American are still running these locomotives... Why not we !!!!!!!!

I think u didnt hear properly .....he said its was in operation in 80s...that time it was using in other countries as well.....i accept it we r far behind but in limited resourses trains are still in operation....be an encourager...world has plenty of critics already..respect👍
