I think the “oomph” you’re waiting for, is who Bob really is. His presence in this trailer was the definition of a tease. Comic fans know who he is, but general audiences more than likely don’t. Maybe they’re waiting for the next trailer to really establish him.
I notice that too. I've watched most of the trailer reaction from this youtubers, but sad to say none of this so experts know who is Bob is. Even the color theme is a traser for Sentry. Like you said only us diehard Marvel comics fans knows most this characters and their stories.

And then we see a close up of someone lifting a badge of sorts, which has the "S" on it. Frankly, I'm fine with that. I think the movie in general is a tough sell considering that outside of Bucky and maybe Yelena, these were characters that you could've considered "throwaway." That being said, I'm super happy to see some of their arcs finally play out and see them all again!

This feels very simpatico with The Winter Soldier and Brave New World. Having said that, Winter Soldier is still my favorite marvel film to date and these 2 have the potential of standing with it. I didn't mind the risks taken in other Marvel films in the past few years, and forgive a lot of them due to the trust they have built over the years. I'm truly looking forward to this film and hope it does not get messy trying to form the group and has a natural flow to the plot.
They've hooked me based on curiosity alone. I don't know what to expect so I'm in. Also, it finally looks like they are tying in plot lines they've been building finally.. Besides that, I have no expectations.

A few things to say about this movie now that this trailer is out: - Hoping this movie’s Rated R, even in the wake of the $1.3B success of Deadpool & Wolverine, or hard PG-13 to do characters like Ghost or Sentry (ESPECIALLY when he becomes The Void) justice. - This is the same 3.5-minute trailer from Comic-Con (NOT D23 because it wasn’t shown there), but with some differences, mainly we don’t see Alexei belt out “ENOUGH TALK,” we don’t see Alexei’s speech in the car at the end where he cheers up the team, and we don’t see Yelena jumping off the Merdeka 118 tower, which was filmed in Malaysia and is practical, per Florence Pugh. - Also it looks like Val is indeed the owner of Avengers Tower, which means we’ll finally get the “who owned Avengers Tower” question answered. - And out of all the characters on the team, I’m curious to see how Ghost fits in on the team, given the team is all characters from Black Widow or Captain America fare, except Ghost because she’s a villain from Ant-Man and the Wasp, an Ant-Man movie villain, and that’s what fascinates me the most about her inclusion in the movie. - Also, I wonder if the Thunderbolts* title has an asterisk there because the team will become The Secret Avengers at the end of the movie, whereas Sam Wilson will form the New Avengers at the end of Captain America: Brave New World (since he won’t wanna follow Ross’s idea to have a government-sponsored team of Avengers) and we’ll see them again (alongside the Fantastic 4 and hopefully Deadpool) in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

I'm really digging it. I've been a little...underwhelmed with Marvel in general, lately, even though they have continued to put out really great stuff here and there. Yelena is a great lead for the movie and they've done a great job making the audience care about her, even if the BW movie left a little to be desired. It does seem like the hook is, basically, just Suicide Squad again but I don't know how much the standard moviegoer will notice or care about that. Really looks like they did a good job with this one, though.
It was somewhat better than recent MCU "teasers" but no where close to the fun vibe of those for James Gunn's Guardians and Suicide Squad. If reviews are good, I *might* see it. To me these MCU films is the cast getting their Disney payday so they can earn the financial freedom to work on better projects they really want to do and that cinephiles actually want to see.
Better than I thought but it all boils down to Sentry. If they make the team fight Sentry then this movie won't work for me. It would take him .000000000000000001 percent of his power to kill them all. Just be better than that. Like they say in fighting, there are weight classes for a reason.

My two fav new marvel characters Teen & Bob, i'm sure they're just two regular dudes! I like this trailer (LOVED beef) but I think we need to take this pixies song away from hollywood (also it's not subtle in what it is alluding to).
If nothing else, I wish for this movie (and any other future projects w/ Yelena) to push the debate of Julia Roberts vs. Florence Pugh. Do it for the people, John lol.
If this was a phase 2 or phase 3 trailer, there would’ve been over 5,000 reaction videos and everyone would be hype for this. I don’t think Marvel has changed, the core audience got older and grew out of comic book films and the new casuals aren’t attached to the brand like day one phase one marvel fans.

So someone who is in the 18 - 24 age bracket, isn't going to care about or appreciate the history. Life in 2011 - 2014 is vastly different than 2024. It's just not the same. When Marvel used to drop trailers on Monday morning, it used to create a frenzy. It was a genius marketing too. Not anymore.
I love the Captain America franchise, but I’m more excited for this than I am Brave New World mainly because so much of this looks like it’s in camera. Not a lot of green screen & CG. Also, it’s dealing with existentialism?! It’s basically speaking to me directly
Generic action movie populated with B list Marvel characters. Not really my thing. I don't go to Marvel for that. Give me magic, give me powers, give me a crazy world shattering events. When Marvel Studios drops the first trailer this early, they’re highly confident in their product. I want Sentry to tear someone in half.
On the contrary, It is much better than I expected, Marvel only showed the tone of the movie, but revealed nothing of the plot

Looks good. BUT can someone please tell the cinematographers at Marvel/Lucasfilm, to stop muting their colours so much.
