Train Numbers - e.g. 43032 or 800110 - These are train numbers which are specific to that train. No trains can be numbered the same. Locos are 5 digit numbers where the first two numbers are the class of train e.g. 67010 would be a class 67. Multiple Units are 6 digit numbers where the first three numbers are the class of train e.g. 390154 would be a class 390. Click Here to learn more

Headcodes - e.g. 1F32 or 5M00 - These are used by the railway signallers to determine where trains are on the network. Every train within a region has a specific four code ID. Click Here to learn more

Set Number - e.g. WB64 or NL04 - These are semi-permanent loco hauled coach formations which are kept together for formalities. The first two letters usually indicate the maintenance depot responsible e.g. OC is Old Oak Common, LA is Laira. The number indicates the rake number.

The acceleration on the Intercity Express Train, even without the patogram/electric, is really impressive! (I see these trains all the time and it never doesn't impress)

Great video, Those HSTs are precious!!! When the XC ones get Axed I believe that one should be preserved in the national railway museum. I’m definitely going to be getting some shots of them before they sadly leave on September 18th.
Thanks Transpennine, I'm not sure if there are any plans for the XC HSTs, since they are fairly modified (unlike the EMR Powercars). I won't say much but I'll be out on the last day and the charter day. 😃

Are CrossCountry getting rid of the Class 43 Mk3 HSTs or are they keeping some of them. And the rest for storage.
Hi I'm from the future all the XC HSTs are gone the only remaining ones are GWR and ScotRail
It'll be sad when XC and GW get rid of their HST sets whilst yes they've been working for some 40+ years and have more than earnt a quiet retirement It'll not be the same with 800s and voyagers
Plymouth railway station serves the city of Plymouth, Devon, England. It is on the northern edge of the city centre, close to the North Cross roundabout. It is the second busiest station in the county of Devon, and the largest of the six surviving stations in Plymouth.
It is on the route from London Paddington to Penzance, 245 miles 75 chains from the zero point at London Paddington via Box and is also the usual terminus for the Tamar Valley Line services from Gunnislake. The station is managed by Great Western Railway. Services are operated by Great Western Railway and CrossCountry.

I use a VX1, I believe there isn’t any difference between the two other than software. If your going to buy one, I recommend shopping around since it’s not the best value now. The Sony AX53 is a good option for today.

Hey Starlife, why is 220018 going to Macclesfield?
This service became delayed en-route to Manchester Piccadilly. It was terminated short at Macclesfield when 30 minutes late and turned back.
A sight that is sadly no longer seen are XC HSTs.
I’m afraid not. Time was up for them and it will soon be fore the GWR HSTs too.

Its a little more complicated than that. GWR's own CEO stated that they will be used until 'at least December 2024' so they could be in service well into 2025 but I'm sure the results will be known closer to the time.
@@StarlifeStudios losing the InterCity125 sets is a disgrace and we now have to travel on the dreadfully uncomfortable 800s and 802s
