🚄 INFORMATION KEY
Train Numbers - e.g. 43032 or 800110 - These are train numbers which are specific to that train. No trains can be numbered the same. Locos are 5 digit numbers where the first two numbers are the class of train e.g. 67010 would be a class 67. Multiple Units are 6 digit numbers where the first three numbers are the class of train e.g. 390154 would be a class 390. Click Here to learn more

Headcodes - e.g. 1F32 or 5M00 - These are used by the railway signallers to determine where trains are on the network. Every train within a region has a specific four code ID. Click Here to learn more
➤ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Train_r...
Set Number - e.g. WB64 or NL04 - These are semi-permanent loco hauled coach formations which are kept together for formalities. The first two letters usually indicate the maintenance depot responsible e.g. OC is Old Oak Common, LA is Laira. The number indicates the rake number.

Salisbury, the home to the 158’s at it’s finest 😃
Both 158s and 159s! Some of the 158s are a little worse for wear but there was even more in the depot next door 🤣 Thanks Duaine, this one has been suggested to me a few times and I’m glad to have finally addressed it, it’s a great station too especially if you like some Express Sprinter action 👍🏻
Especially that one tunnel!
Here's a small joke, imagine having this in a restaurant:
Waiter/Waitress: 'For the main courses, we can suggest for you a Sprinterlodgy Supreme' Which has the mixed flavours of a choice of either Perkins or Cummins seasoning. The choice is up to you sir/madam. Ah, for desert, we can suggest for you a selection of High Speed flavouring with a hint of blueberries and to finish, some strawberry and cream sauce.'
Salisbury is for sure the home of the best of the Cummins Class 158/159's.
Fully enjoyed watching it :-)
Haha love it! I’d definitely like my Sprinter Supreme Medium Rare with a High Speed Sundae. Thanks Ricky 🤣
I'll just take the dessert thanks 👍 🤣
Excellent video!
Thanks Max, this one has a lot of 158/159s in it! 🤣👍🏻
NOW THATS A LOTTA 158s
It certainly is! 👍🏻

A fantastic video from a very interesting station. Those SWR sprinters are still 👌
Absolutely, despite all of the change in the network over the last 20 years, this station has actually remained almost the exact same since the late 1990s. It’s certainly a great place to get your Express Sprinter fix anyway and there are even more in the depot next door!
Great video, nice to see the NR HST too!
Excellent video Ross.
Thank you kindly 😃
Amazing video as always Ross! 👍
A great video as always!
Sick video
Nice video Ross, nice to see some 43’s after commuter retirement.
Thanks Boleem, this test train is usually the New Measurement Train so it was nice to see 43274 here as well 😃
Amazing video Ross!! You got a great mix there of DMUs I like that GWR are using more 158s on Cardiff - Portsmouth instead of turbos! Nice you got to see the NMT twice suprised they havent repainted the powercars yet and nice catch of the aggregates train as well! You got some good tones in the mix and some excellent 158 noises
Always love the 158 engines, some of the best on the network. GWR seem to mix the 165/166 and 158s on these services but I’m not sure what is more common! Thanks Jacob as always 🙂
@@StarlifeStudios Probably about a 60:40 split but they should be using a 90:10 split of 158s to turbos instead of 60:40 turbo to 158 split if that makes sense haha
Very nice
Man ..... THAT WAS GGRRRREEEEEEAAAAAATTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been to Salisbury before and it’s quite a nice city in Wiltshire.
As someone who lives near Salisbury and uses this station every time I need to catch a train anywhere, seeing the Sprinters all the time can be a bit mondain and boring at times (only seeing 1 verity of train).
However, I never understood how unique the station was being one of the very few large stations in the country that still has 95% of its trains as Sprinters.
So I can appreciate that someone from outside of the area coming to the station, it can be quite interesting seeing all the sprinters
Great video as always!
Absolutely. That’s interesting because I live in an area where sprinters have become less and less common (midlands) so for me this was fresh and reminiscent. The 159s are solid units and the interiors are pretty good for modern standards too. You aren’t going to see the back of them anytime soon though, there are no plans to get rid of them. Thanks for your thoughts and kind comments, I really appreciate the time you take to type it out 🙂
Sprinters my DMU of choice. I personally think they are one of the most comfortable units built 😊
The power of those engines! 😤😤😤
No electric wires in sight!! ⚠️⚠️
Good video !
My local! Great video
I really enjoyed it here! You have an awesome local 😃👍🏻
Great video
Never knew GWR 158s went to Cardiff! Great video Ross!
Nice video!
Thank you very much! I’m glad you liked this weeks video 😃
@@StarlifeStudios Sure! You are welcome! 🙂😊
please could you perhaps plan to film at Horley (HOR) (BML) please
I can certainly look into it for you. I need to go back to the BML soon so that could be a good opportunity to 👍🏻
Nice
As always.👍👍
Looks like a great place to tick off loads of super sprinters!
Also how did you find out where the NR HST goes?
masterpeice

@@BonnieBlue94 Thank you! 😃👍🏻
@@StarlifeStudios np :)
I miss the SWT 159/158's to Plymouth
So we know if there will be any new trains coming to the Salisbury route? Or if there will be any electrification schemes?
Bro I told you
Worcester UK
Bro that's crazy
We are nearly hitting 20k
Nearly there! 😃🤞🏻
Really enjoyable video as always! I’m assuming you use a mic on your camera? Can I ask which one please?
Thank you! I either use the built in Mic or a Rode VideoMic. It depends on the weather, the Rode doesn't cope with wind too well.
@@StarlifeStudios thank you for the reply
100 metres, i just put nine gyal in a sprinter
Please can you do a video at stoke on Trent railway station please 🙏
