Do you have MCAS?!?
@@toby-jeanne_almy yes!
@@TamsCreativeCorner ohhhhhh!!!! Samesies!!! It's really nice to hear another person's perspective on best practices for working with possibly toxic chemicals, I still want to do projects but it's tough when some days even WATER causes reactions LOL!
@@TamsCreativeCorner that would actually make a REALLY good video! DIY best practices with MCAS!
@@toby-jeanne_almy I totally get it! Nice to meet another unicorn 😂 my doctor would not be happy if she knew I was using resin! I have not done much in awhile as we are on a new adventure over @til further notice! Love to have you join us there too! So nice to connect. I don’t even bother trying to explain all of my ailments anymore! Hugs hugs and hope you are doing good!
You need to use a respirator that can use Organic Filters. Also... Full face, to cover your eyes. Vapors can be absorbed thru eyes much more than one's skin. (Professional Firefighter here). Also ask your vendor for the current MSD, Material Safety Data sheet for the epoxy/resin you are planning to use. Read it!
Thank you for your input! Yes, I always get the mds safety sheet and a full face is definitely the better way to go!

THIS IS VERY INFORMATIVE. MOST PEOPLE ARE NOT INFORMATIVE ENOUGH. I'M APPRECIATIVE. THANK YOU.
Thank you! I’m happy to hear it was helpful. Thanks for watching and your kind comment!
I've bought molds, pigment, beads, etc. This is the video I needed most. I want to be safe when I start this craft so although you may not think it's exciting, it is to me. Thank you.
Thank you! I’m glad it was helpful. Happy creating!
Thabks for doing this video, its really useful to me as a beginner. I realise you said you were uncomfortable doing a video this long with this much focus on you, it was only the outtakes and your comment in the title that told me that. You really did a great job, and you will have helped so many people with this!
Thank you so much. You are very kind!
Tip I got from elsewhere, instead of wooden sticks try silicon spatulas. They wipe clean.
Yes! Good tip. They even have little mini ones now for resin. Thanks for watching!
All this info was exactly what I needed! I haven’t even done one project yet and this helped me feel more comfortable to start. I don’t know why I’m so afraid to start. But you did make me feel better. Thank you!
Thank you Yvonne! I was super nervous to start as well. Just be safe and enjoy!
My feelings exactly
Wow your Amazon store has literally everything. Such a big help.
Hello! So happy it was helpful. Thanks for watching and your comment!
the smell of curing epoxy makes me feel good, not for any physical reaction just reminds me of finishing projects which has a great feeling.
Oh gosh, be safe! I love the finish too but am careful not to sniff 😉
Thank you for posting this video. It is very helpful!
It’s great that you mention respirators. It is only half the info they need though. Some will no doubt end up with a respirator and a dust filter which does not protect from resin off gasses. A respirator is only effective with the right filter!
I got tired of resin and paint damage to my clothes, so, I use canvas full sized aprons, which Amazon sells. :) Thank you for the list, I made a list from yours and before I work I check off my list and I'm having so much fun learning!
Hi Kat! It’s a messy medium! I’m so happy to hear you are having fun! Thank you for watching and the kind comment!
I've just purchased some items to start resin art "again" after years of not doing it, I happened upon your video only to realize I never had all the information to do this craft, I mixed, poured, and worked unprotected ! What pops bubbles using torch is the carbon dioxide from combustion. Your exhaled breath will also work.

I like silicone stirring sticks and measuring cups. I got a set for 12 on Amazon. Absolutely love them and amazing clean up.
Yes! I’ve started using them also for my uv resin!
I just started today and I am so thankful i stumbled across your video!! I’m going to be working outside on my patio because I do live in a apartment so I don’t want to chance it. 😇 I ordered a outside table just for my projects !
Thank you! I’m glad you found my channel! Just make sure the temperature outside is what your resin recommends for curing and cover it when done 😉. I’d love to get to a climate where I could work outside. Have so much fun 🤗
Make a climate controlled box
Thank you for this video
Thank you. The measuring cup is a great find. As is the turntable. Actually, everything was great
Thank you so much Gail!!! Happy it was helpful and your feedback means a lot!
Just one thing I noticed. (2 different colours for the letters on your silicone mat.) It's Love Life. ❤️
Hello! Actually, they pronounce it the way I stated in video although you are correct it is spelled love life 😉. I thought the same until the company corrected me
Oh really? Well colour me embarrassed. Never heard of the brand before. Thought I was smart for a second there. 🤣
@@jlcouto85 🤣. I felt the same way! I’m sure most people think it too 😉
I’m just starting with Resin; this is exactly what I needed to see!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you!
I finally bought one. I hope it isn’t too cumbersome to breathe while working.
Creative solder! 👍😂
Haha! Yes!
I like your work 🌸🌸🌸
Semideus Art TV thank you so much!
"hey there cool cats and kittens"
How I wanted this to start
Hi Tammy! Your video is so helpful to me. I need to restore a table that my mom uses as an island in the kitchen and as an artist myself I was just planning on using my art resin. I think I'll use the Epoxy Resin by MAS (on Amazon). I've never imagined covering a large surface before as I only would use only a small amount of resin for setting the eyes on my sculptures. Naturally, I didn't even think about bubbles forming so I added a torch to my amazon cart per your suggestion. And I'm glad I watched your full video because I was going to move this project to my room and I do have quite a bit of alcohol-based art products that I should probably keep out of reach. Even though I know alcohol is very flammable, sometimes we get carried away with our projects and simply forget. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. It was very nice to listen to you and you are so informative
You are so kind. Thank you! Sorry for the delay. We are on the road and I hadn’t been getting notifications! Yes, you’ll want to use a countertop epoxy for a surface like that. Art resin us to soft for countertops. I’m glad the video helped. Always a learning experience!
This video was GREAT! Thank you... I currently have Swollen eyes and face because I did not make safety a priority. I really like seeing the silly outtakes! Your personality comes through :)
Aww thank you!!! Glad you enjoyed it and it was helpful! Yes, you have to be careful with resin.
Also, glad you appreciated the outtakes lol. Have fun creating!
Thank you so much.
Perfect video Tam !! I totally forgot to mention tying hair up haaaaa that's up there as the most important with the mask xxx
Claire’s Crafty Corner thank you! One trip to the salon with cured resin in your hair will certainly remind you 😂
@@TamsCreativeCorner 🤣🤣🤣 oh my goodness haaaa
Very useful video. Especially for the beginners. 👍🏻 One thing missed out might be a covering or a lid used to protect the project..rest all is covered. Thank you so much👍🏻
Thank you!!! Yes, good idea, although I don’t use any one thing for that! Appreciate you watching and your comment!
Great video Tam! I agree with all of your top 10!
One item I also always have in my studio when working with resin is a can of acetone! I soak tools and brushes in it after using them in any resin project.
Thank you! Thats a great idea! Thanks for sharing that with me! Also, I Appreciate your watching and commenting!
@@TamsCreativeCorner oh yeah, dont forget shop towels too!
ABSTRACT IMPRESSIONS Karen yes!!!!
Thank you for this video. It is the best/ most informative video that I have watched on this subject and I watch every one that I come across. I am now a subscriber.! You are also a great instructor - you include your reasoning behind decisions and share so much information.
My contribution to this is: Unicone Art makes a gel cleanser for hands. It’s a pump. Labeled as a ‘magical resin remover’ And It Is! I highly recommend it. It’s great. If you get resin on your hands at all, this is the best way to get it off. It is not harsh like alcohol. Really. Try it. (I have no stake in this whatsoever) but please try it and tell us what you think. Thanks again.
Super helpful! Thank you.. :)
So glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much ma'am 🙏☺
Thank you for watching 🤗
Thanks for the info Tammy. Your blooper at the end is the way I would be all of the way through haha
You are most welcome and I was bloopering my way all the way through, trust me haha!
P.S. You made it to the end?! HAHA
