THANK YOU, so much. I'm disabled and have a serious lung problem (and another disability) from 2nd hand smoke. I'm on oxygen 24/7. I've been using a paper mask. I'm stopping until I buy a proper Respirator, and gloves are so important! I live in a HIGH altitude state and it's cold in the winter, so maybe that is why my first Resin mix got so hot and I almost had a mini volcano! I've learned a lot in the last few months. The silicone tools are awesome and help save the environment. I almost got a Resin burn the first time, because I did something wrong and it got HOT fast, even though I had gloves on. I got some on my skin. Beginners MUST KNOW what your teaching. I didn't find many resin "Beginner" tutorials even though I asked other crafters on you tube what I should get first. Don't get lung problems ladies. It's not fun. I'm 63 this summer and I'm tethered to a oxygen machine. (I've never smoked but I was a Porcelain doll maker for yrs and breathed in the dust in the winter. That is all I can think of.) Your LUNGS are your life line. Thank you Claire! Stay Safe and HEALTHY! Blessings~ PS. this is going on my Pinterest page. I have A LOT of followers, over 12,000 on Pinterest..I think that's a lot. I'm not boasting, I'm just saying maybe I can help someone else by putting YOUR video on my site and you'll help them. It takes a village, and helping one another is the key to life~thanks Claire. Sorry, no more NOVELS!
Heyyyy my lovely … I love novels ! haaaaaa don't ever apologise I will always read and reply xx thank you so much ! x I am so sorry to hear about your lung problems I cannot imagine how tough that is :( As a resin user you need to take extra precautions for sure it might impact you way more than others xxx A good respirator is essential .. You can get whole face respirators that circulate air inside .. xx That is a huge amount of followers on Pinterest thank you so so much seriously kind xxx :) xx I am typing on my laptop so I cannot send emojis .. but I would fill this up with hearts if I could xxx I really appreciate how much time you took to comment and a huge thankyou for sharing my videos xx I am proper happy that they have helped you xxx
Hi Claire, I also love working with Resin. I have however developed an allergy to resin, so I have had to go into it to find out how I can continue to work with Resin. I have my respirator and latex gloves. Guess what, Resin can get through all gloves but nitrile. I have to double glove even with the nitrile gloves. Get Nitrile Gloves and please let your viewers know.
Heyyyy Bernie... thankyou so much for sharing this ... I honestly had no idea Resin could get through Latex ... I only use Nitrile gloves now .. but I did used to wear latex .. xx apparantly it is only a matter of time before people start to react bad to resin .. and once you have a reaction .. its hard not to x I would definitely say . Layer up the arms .. and double glove ... I also wear goggles now too ... xxx
Shein also has a bunch of really affordable molds. The clear type and the opaque ones. I’ve never had a problem with any of them. I have been using uv resin, and I will be trying epoxy resin soon. Also Temu, I think it’s spelled that way, has a ton of options for resin crafting at great prices.
Man, are super efficient, VERY thorough and i would SWEAR that you live out here in the US since this video is DISCLAIMERED OUT!! But, of course, somebody somewhere will find SOMETHING to nit pick at, i can tell you've had your fair share of that, I am BRAND NEW to the epoxy world, i super appreciate your video, you sharing your thoughts and experiences with the rest of us and, MOST importantly, informing us of ALL of the property precautions to take when messing with toxic chemicals like epoxy resin
Heyyyy Talena, thank you so much ! xx I am definitely still finding people point blank refusing to wear a mask and gloves ... It is not about being told what to do (some people are defiant and feel like I am telling them what to do) but it really is as simple as protecting their own lungs ... they refuse ! It makes no sense to me when a respirator is cheaper than the actual resin. I am so happy and appreciate you for listening and actually caring about your own health xxxx
I came across your channel earlier today and subscribed after just one video! Your energy and “go with the flow” style is fantastic! So glad I found this video too as I want to move on from UV to epoxy resin and you gave all the starter info I was looking for. Thank you!
Hi there! I'm just starting out using resin, found your video in a search. So much great advice from one newbie to another. Look forward to seeing all the other stuff you can show me. Thank you! Your enthusiasm is infectious :-)
I just love listening to you. It's hard to find people who are so enthusiastic but honest and concerned enough to make sure you share what's really important to keep everyone safe. So glad I found you, you just make me smile.
I understand the ratio part. That’s me too. So the one to one will work best for me too. I’m just getting started. Been wanting to do it do over a year now
Great job as usual! 🖒 Lots of good info. 1 thing i have to do is cover my project with an upside down plastic storage container while curing. Ive realized all my resin is like a magnet to all the stuff floating in the air including pet hair!
Thanks so much hunee .. Ahhhh yess I have seen people cover their resin .. never done that either and it's more to do with me being too lazy than anything else haaa but if I had pets I would 100% cover it xx
Heyyyy lovely ... thanks so much for popping over xx I'm not a wood turner (yet) the lathe is still in its box lol .. bad timing with everything going on now .. shed only arrived yesterday ! Xxx hope you find content that you enjoy xxxx
Lots of great tips! As for heating the resin, I use a heated coffee mug coaster. Works like a charm! Don't heat the hardener - that's where the dangerous chemicals are.
@@annabarry1193 I've learned that it is better to have the container in water. I burned the bottoms several silicone cups, having left them on the warmer for 5 minutes. A cup of water hot from the tap or shortly microwaved actually works best. Thank you for asking.
was just about to start a resin project - never used it before but bought a pack from a craft store to resin my fondant cake toppers from my wedding cake to save them - before starting I watched your video and I am so glad - nothing on the kit mentions masks or ventilation, just to use gloves. As an asthmatic this could have been dangerous or even fatal - thank you for your safety advice.
I really liked your video! It was very informative. I was going to try resin but I'm going to wait...I didn't know any of that intill now. Thank you so much for sharing! Now I can truly prepare 😌 🙌...
Have you heard if that resin gets foggy. It keeps getting foggy on me. Is it the brand it self? Or why does it get that way? Thanks again for your help.
Hi Claire, thanks for this video, so helpful. As a paper crafter I use both a heat gun for embossing powder but also use the Tim Holtz heat tool which operates the same temperature as a heat gun but doesn’t blow anywhere near like a heat gun. Hope this helps you and anyone else. 😊
Great tips for first-timers 👍 Your flame is perfectly fine for killing those surface bubbles. It won't be in contact with the mould for long enough to damage it. 😎♠
Thanks so much ♠️♠️ hoping I've helped a few .. at least I can direct any future questions to this video. I've certainly never had an issue with the lighter ... I learned that from you so i was ready to blame ! 🤣🤣
Can't thank you enough Claire ❤️ You have become a resin and jesmonite reference, like literally whenever I need to know what to do I come straight to your channel. Thank you for being here for us beginners ☺️☺️🌷🌷
Heyyyy so sorry to hear about your hands 😢😢 I hope they heal quicker ... you're absolutely right ... gloves and mask are the top 2 most important things ! I wish everyone understood xxx ❤❤
Yeah then there is me without “protection” lol yes .. I kno .. 😝😘 i AM GETTING! Bcuz of the resin printer .. I promise to wear gloves .. and a respirator.. Cold w UV setting u can set outside if sunlight 💜
@Claire'sCraftyCorner Hi Claire I know this video was a while back but I have recently started to watch resin videos and wanted to have a go. This has been really helpful on what you need and how to start. Another lady gave some good advice as well Resin Nut don't know if you've ever watched her vids but she was very helpful too. Thanks again, love watching your vids and seeing your creations. Take care 🙂
Great advise Claire. I use glasscast 50 in a 4" . 100mm cube mold, i also got from wish ( £3.95 ). I have one on the lathe at the moment. I use a proper blow lamp to remove bubbles ( only a quick blast ) , but it works. Im like you i hate gloves. Keep up the good work.x Geoff.
Ahhhhh yess Glass Cast 50 ... I knew they had different numbered resins for different pours ... good to know that turns well and I shall get some in future xx xx
Hi Claire, just to let you know I have bought the same mask you have. A GVS Elipse Respirator A1-P3, from Screwfix, £33.99, Screwfix order number 8084G. It has good reviews and users say it filters out fumes.
I haven’t started yet, but I have started gathering everything I need, respirator mask, nitrile gloves, scales, molds, resin…now I just need the courage to start mixing and pouring. I even got a small curing machine, next is bubble removal machine. 🫶🏼
Lea .. haaaa you're amazing !! Seriously?? .. yeh I have a 100% reply rate .. I cannot stand it when you tubers dont respond... like ... I am only here because of you guys !!!
I want to start working with resin and I am so glad I watched this video. It was so helpful !!! I have done so much research and I thought that would be enough but this video covered everything and I learnt some new things too ! Thank u so much !
Thank you again and also I have a question - I have a resin which is to be measured by mass and not volume so is there a conversion or should I use a weighing scale only
@@anwesharajaram1514 hey lovely .... so most resins are measurable by weight or volume. If yours says MASS .... then yes that is weight x use a digital weighing scales as they are more accurate xxx
W a mold WAIT AND ALLOW THE BUBBLES SURFACE .. in ur cup b4 pouring .. hit w a quick torch pops the bubbles pour slow in in ur molds and if u see bubbles take a toothpick and pop if they get finicky let them surface pop on and off quick w a lighter or torch as they surface usually the 1st few min For wood resin use ProMarine or MAS
I'm not reading through all of the comments so someone else may have already said this... but the respirator can come with different types of filters, you have to make sure that your filters are for Chemical fumes. And after using wipe it down with 91% Alcohol to clean it. Then store it in an airtight container that is just big enough to fit your respirator in to. If you keep it out in the open it will continue to "clean" the air while you aren't using it & saturate your filters... as soon as you start smelling chemicals while using your respirator your filters are too saturated to protected you and need to be replaced! Filters on a good respirator are replaceable. My father has a great deal of experience working with highly toxic chemicals at work... and he is always checking my respirator for safty due to my being exposed to a trash fire as a teen, my lungs don't function as well as they should due to the damage caused by burning plastics in the trash fire. I can literally passout from lack of Oxygen by walking by a group of smokers standing outside a store on their break smoking cigarettes. 🚬 I know many will have comments about how I should probably not be playing with resins... but I am as safe as I can be! I take care of my PPE & never use any chemicals (even household cleaners) without someone at home with me.
Thank you for the advice(s)… I’m sure you probably worked this out that if you record Selfie 🤳 mode everything looks back to front to us. Depending on the application you use for editing, perhaps flip the video so all back to normal. Just my input, although this video is over a year old. Love your video. My wife wants to do some Resin work for our girls and for herself too. So, thanks for the videos you do, will help her to learn & do what she would like to do. I bought her the same resins you showed,so I guess she will happy 😊 to follow your videos. I’ll let her know the Code you given in one of your videos for using when she will need to get her next batch… I believe, “Our World is a Shared Experience”… Remember, *_Life_* is *_Short_* so *_Live Long_* and *_Prosper_* 🖖… Take care…
Great video, very informative. I thank you. I am looking to start a resin business soon. I made my first few purchases based on your recommendations in this video.
thanks for this, cant wait to get started. im sure ill get bashed for this part, im glad that resin does not bother my skin, so least if i need the gloves off. it does not bother me at all. never thought about id with all the fiberglass resin i did when i worked on cars. i know that stuff is more nasty then craft resin.
Heyyyy thanks so much x glad this helped ... I think first and foremost the respirator will save your life! I know a few resin artists who do not like gloves x and a few who have started getting skin conditions .... so I guess it really is at the risk of the creator xx but mask is 100%%%%%% needed x
OK... I'll be using this one as well..... :) :). I just love your enthusiasm. I think I have remembered where I picked your channel up from. I think it was a live stream from The Beard x 16. Thank goodness I have the respirator and gloves. Just need the rest now... My fingers are getting itchy... better go out first thing and turn some wood.. :) take my mind off the resin for a few weeks. Take care.

Thank you so much for uploading this video, I've recently discovered your channel and your resin jewelry for beginners video made me want to try resin work, I really need to invest in a mask and a silicone matt to work on as I'm a bit messy 😂
Heyyyy Dean thanks so much .. hope this helps you .. definitely invest in a mask ... xx I'd love a silicone mat .. I've just bought a roll of polyurethane painters drop sheet ... resin doesnt stick to polyurethane.. but still it is plastics and silicone matt is better xxxx
You've been doing resin for a while now and I'm really enjoying watching you. Can you recommend any UK resins for coasters with reasonable titting around times, preferably with HALS (stuff that prolongs uv resistance), preferably not expensive? So many recommendations for resins you can't seem to get here!
Heyyyyyy Lovely ... yes ... Just 4 you online do a heat proof reain for hot drink coastera xxx I made coasters last Christmas with Craft Resin and my tea did just fine on those xxx also Glass Cast ... 3 UK companies ... xxx Glass Cast is cheapest .... 2:1 Craft Resin is 1:1 ratio so easy. Xx
Ooh good on you Claire! Resin, to me, is like uncharted territory, even as I watch your beautiful creations...it still felt like Chinese to me, bc I didn’t know/understand any of THIS info. Thank you-so appreciate the hard work you’ve put in to helping us understand exactly what this amazing craft medium has to offer, the ups the downs the all arounds. I would definitely go for the one to one ration esp as a beginner...no math for me please. Ha ha ❤️
I like seeing you the entire video...uh oh we are gonna get spoiled. So much CLAIRE in this crafty corner yassssssss! Oooh the molds we can use. The geode coaster molds are amazing. I would totally make resin geode pizza slices bwahahahahha with ruby pepperoni🍕
I can’t wait for ocean season!! “Resin doesn’t go where Resin hasn’t been!” I love that. Good quote. Oh man you’re gonna get me into Resin....I feel it coming. Ha ha
🤣🤣🤣 babe thankyooooo xx really felt like I needed to do this .. had so many questions lately ... feel like this covers it all mostly x except costs ... I forgot to mention costs .. 🙈🙈 Yeh the 1:1 works for me ! I'm soooo not ready for the maths haaa Yay so glad you enjoyed and found the info helpful xxx 😘😘😘
@@ClairesCraftyCorner I will! :) I have a few really nice silicone moulds that I have only used with air dry clay and polymer clay. I'm so curious how they would turn out using resin! Like you said, though, I'm so intimidated because I don't know what the fudge I'm doing! lol.
@@Trishwish loool Trish .. honestly that is me most days haaaaa great idea to use air dry clay though .. I have air dry and polymer so might have to give that a go in the future xxx
How... I've been hinestvfrom the start I'm utterly clueless 🤣🤣🤣🤣 my camera films in reverse haaaa I have no idea how to sort it out lol Do t even know how I'm allowed on here
Lots of good advice! I started using resin in October last year. My main issue with it is heat resistance. I've tried several different resins and it's still very hit and miss. I think it's mainly due to environmental conditions in my house. I'm hoping it will improve once the weather warms up - although weather forecast says snow next week 😱 so might not be soon. I haven't tried the GlassCast resins. Do you find them to be heat resistant?
Yeh it's so hard in cold temperatures.. I wouldnt even try doing resin if the heating was not on xxx lol and yes Glass Cast is fantastic! Totally heat resistant and also craft resin is too xxx
Heyyy lovely thanks so much xx Yeh fully think it's the most important thing ! Xx And yesssssa ... @jpwoodwork got me a lathe and filmed the surprise just have nowhere for it to go yet xx
good info thanks. i havent tried resin yet, but love the look of those river resin tables.. and i want one :) not sure if you have done one of those as the only ones i have seen so far are American. seems to be harder as you need to make a large mould rather than using set moulds.
Heyyyy Chris .. Oh gosh no I have not yet tried one they are incredible arent they ! I would say check out Nick Zametti .. He is is the UK and has done some very deep resin pours .. x
I use the same resin. I didn't know if it was 1:1 ratio for volume or weight, so I contacted the brand, and they said it's either. So I do it by weight.
Hello my beautiful Claire great tips my beautiful friend I’ve never used resin but you have definitely inspired me to give it a try I hope your having a wonderful day my beautiful friend xoxo 💖💖💖
Hi Claire, loving your videos so thank you very much 😍 you mentioned layering your resin I two use both Craft Resin and Glass Cast, please could I sad how you do this process as in do you need to sand each layer, how long in between each layer and so on. I’d be much much much appreciated if you could help me. Many thanks Mel x
Heyyyy lovely ... I have only done one layering project .. which was the Rae Dunn Inspired fridge magnets .. and honestly I left the resin to fully dry 24 hours before adding the white background x you dont need to though .. you can layer much sooner than that ... I think if you are layering a deep pour ... you risk seeing the layers and you are better off buying a deep pour resin .. like Glass Cast 50 or 30 ? They do a resin suitable for deep pours .. but I feel like with really deep pours cubes or spheres you may need a vacuum pot ? Not sure xx thin layers are fine without xxxx

I hope your feeling better!! I have a huge problem..I absolutely love working with resin but I have bought 3 different kinds of respirators and unbeknownst to me I think I'm allergic to the silicone inside the resporator. Do you have any suggestions that I can try? I've been asking around but don't get any responses. 😢 I have so much $$ invested plus I really love it.
Do you ever use detailed moulds. I need to find a good way to release the resin when it's set. I've used a spray but it's difficult to get in there with it and I'm wondering whether to pour it in and then wipe it out as much as I can. Any ideas?
Hey lovely ... I havent used detailed mould really .. I know the ones you mean though they are beautiful and I would love to try them xx I am not very helpful here i'm afraid xxx
Hi Claire, 1st time commenting. You have certainly inspired me to 'give it a go' ...could you please drop a link to the 2 resins you recommend..Craft resin and Glass Cast I can't seem to find them :( thank you again so much for your fab tutorials ♥

I live in an apt with my kids and mom. I was interested in making resin jewelry as a hobby and potential profit. Recently seeing vids about the smell and respirator masks got me wondering again if this was a good idea? 🤔 I got UV resin and a lamp. I don't plan on using the epoxy mix because I need the mask due to the toxic smell and also my kids. What should I do?
Hey lovely ... if you do not have a spare well ventilated room away from everyone then Epoxy will pose a problem .. I would still recommend a mask for UV ... but it cures quickly .. so easy to use x
@@ClairesCraftyCorner Thank you so much for the insight hun. I have the dining room in the apartment. Can I use the masks we're using currently for Covid? I understand with chemicals like these ventilation is a big must. Which do you prefer if I was to do like coasters and trays, etc? Is UV just as good? (epoxy scares me because I'm afraid I'll pour too much of the other)
heyyy I hope you enjoy it ... yes I can recommend Toonpish Crafts and also Sharon Lindley designs ... and also Sue Findley .. she is in Australia but she is British :)
Not latex gloves. It may melt/react with resin. Nitrile gloves are Only. Do you wear your respirator around the house while your resin is curing..? Do your resin work outside.
Heyyy Jay ... yeh that's what I've heard but I've not had a problem.. also ... I dont run the resin around with my hands so I guess that's why I havnt had a problem .. lol I always have the window open as well as the door to the craft room closed ... but I dint resin for long periods ... like 20 mins max xxxx
I’m new to resin and want to a special project. And I want to try it out. Right now it’s snow and cold and I know cold air isn’t good when using resin, but I don’t have enough to get a respirator. What do you suggest?
Heyyyyy lovely ... do not start without a respirator ! ... respirators cost less than Resin ... so wait until you have one x Resin does not like the cold x so use a heat mat or a room heater x
Alumilite Slow is best and clear as glass, but it is measured by weight. a bit pricey in price market But well wourth it.. You also need a pressure pot from HARBOR freight, $100.00 us dollors.
Thanks Gerald xx I havnt yet ventured in to the hardcore resins .. I'm very much a resin crafter at the moment .. I'm sure when I get into deep pours.. or turning resin on the lathe I will need to invest more xx
Hi Claire! I purchased ksresin brand, an 8oz bottle. Info on it states “low odor, no VOC’s”. I plan on starting with an 8 x 10 canvas to resin. So I can stick within the guidelines for how long you should be in the room with it at one time is 20 minutes enough time resin an 8 x 10 piece? I don’t know if I can afford resin too often and I really don’t want to invest in a respirator mask! Ya know lungs, theyre a dime a dozen... ha ha
Heyyyyy lovely ... honestly ... I would buy the mask before the resin x my mask cost £30.00. It was cheaper than the resin ... and I promise you lungs are way more important :) xxxx Most Epoxy Resins are low odour ... but thats the worry ... they have invisible fumes when you get rid of bubbles and whilst curing also .... xxx
Claire’s Crafty Corner ahhhh hmmm. Ok. And yes your right -lungs r kinda important lol. So I live in Florida where the humidity has been between 80 and 95% the majority of days. Even at night! That being said I have three kitties and I’m wondering even if I’m in like a separate room from them but still in the house that could be dangerous to them?
Good video Clair! But i was wondering if you can use resin indoors and if it’s safe I have a Respirator but I’m not sure if it’s safe to use indoors also I live in a cold climate but inside it’s warm I do have a balcony perfect for doing resin outside but we have a lot Rainy days so it’s not possible for me to so resin outside my work space is also not ventilated I habe a small tiny window wich is where my desk is is it still safe to use my resin there with a respirator ? even if my work space is not good ventilated?
Heyyyy lovely ... I use resin indoors. Some people say it is not safe indoors so this is at the creators own risk. I have a spare room .. large windows ... door is closed. I wear a respirator and gloves and now eye goggles. I also have no pets or children ... I would definitely say at your own risk ... as I truly believe we do not know enough about EPOXY to say either way ... I just make sure I am as safe as I can be .... but I have seen so many people do Epoxy in their kitchen ... no mask .. no gloves... surrounded by kids and animals ... I always try to share advice when I see this x I cannot Epoxy outside .. too much weather. Xxx

I agree 100% with you ... companies need to do more. I did a lot of research back in January and actually spoke to at least 10 brands who all recommend PPE and respirators are worn ... my plan was to do a safety video at some stage. It is hard when so many people think you are over reacting when you talk about full safety wear.

hello Claire ,i'm starting to work with resin and make small accessories, to help my parents with household expenses, my mother is very concerned with my health, and i am fifteen (almost sixteen), would there be any danger to my health working with resin at that age?, even with all the precautions, gloves, ventilated place, mask etc?
Hi Helena, my advice would be to contact the Resin manufacturer and ask them . My Nieces do Resin art at school and they are 16 and 14. I cannot however, tell you that its safe for you.
I also wear goggles now too ... xxx
I've had to double glove a few times.
Thanks Bernie, I too have developed a skin rash, and use latex gloves! I'll be swapping them out now.
Thank you for sharing this info. I will be starting with Resin projects
What respirator do U use? Thank U
Heyyyy Darcy .. I am so glad you found this helpful .. I hope you like my other contect .. I have a whole playlist on resin x
This has been a great informative video. Thanks for all your good advice. ❤❤
I just love listening to you. It's hard to find people who are so enthusiastic but honest and concerned enough to make sure you share what's really important to keep everyone safe. So glad I found you, you just make me smile.
Awwwww Anita thanks sooo much that's proper lovely ❤❤❤❤ I'm glad you found me toooooo xxxxxx
Thank you so much, this has been a great tutorial, sooooooooo helpful x
I understand the ratio part. That’s me too. So the one to one will work best for me too. I’m just getting started. Been wanting to do it do over a year now
Claire is the reigning queen of resin... in training.
Awww ha ha thanks lovely xxx 🤣
Great job as usual! 🖒 Lots of good info. 1 thing i have to do is cover my project with an upside down plastic storage container while curing. Ive realized all my resin is like a magnet to all the stuff floating in the air including pet hair!
Thanks so much hunee .. Ahhhh yess I have seen people cover their resin .. never done that either and it's more to do with me being too lazy than anything else haaa but if I had pets I would 100% cover it xx
Hello! Pohl Barn told us about you! We can’t wait to wade through your content and it’s lovely to find sources in the UK!
Don't heat the hardener - that's where the dangerous chemicals are.
ahhhh thank you x I always heated both … I will just do one from now on x
@@ClairesCraftyCorner The hardener is usually runny, anyway.
Do you put the container straight on the warmer?
Little did she know when she said 'mask up' that everyone would soon be doing it
ha ha so true right ?
She can see the future!!! Lol
@@brandyives9739 🤣🤣🤣🤣 the similarities are totally similar too ... there are so many who don't want to wear a respirator also 🤣😢
I really liked your video!

Thank you so much xxx that means so much to me xxx
I love UV resin! I’ve tried many brands and some don’t have an odor some are horrible! lol. But I only use it when I’m making small stuff.
Heyyyy so sorry to hear about your hands 😢😢 I hope they heal quicker ... you're absolutely right ... gloves and mask are the top 2 most important things ! I wish everyone understood xxx ❤❤

It has good reviews and users say it filters out fumes.
heyyyy lovely glad you got one xxxx they are great
I haven’t started yet, but I have started gathering everything I need, respirator mask, nitrile gloves, scales, molds, resin…now I just need the courage to start mixing and pouring. I even got a small curing machine, next is bubble removal machine. 🫶🏼

@@ClairesCraftyCorner thank you so so much 💖
@@anwesharajaram1514 you're very welcome lovely xxx let me know how you get on
W a mold WAIT AND ALLOW THE BUBBLES SURFACE .. in ur cup b4 pouring .. hit w a quick torch pops the bubbles pour slow in in ur molds and if u see bubbles take a toothpick and pop if they get finicky let them surface pop on and off quick w a lighter or torch as they surface usually the 1st few min
For wood resin use ProMarine or MAS
Thanks so much Sheryl .. I usually wait a minute or 2 but not much longer as the resin thickens quite fast xxx
I know many will have comments about how I should probably not be playing with resins... but I am as safe as I can be! I take care of my PPE & never use any chemicals (even household cleaners) without someone at home with me.
Thanks for the tips. I plan some on using resin in the future.
Ahh amazing ! I'm currently obsessed .. trying to wean myself off of it lol

thanks for this, cant wait to get started. im sure ill get bashed for this part, im glad that resin does not bother my skin, so least if i need the gloves off. it does not bother me at all. never thought about id with all the fiberglass resin i did when i worked on cars. i know that stuff is more nasty then craft resin.
Heyyyy thanks so much x glad this helped ... I think first and foremost the respirator will save your life! I know a few resin artists who do not like gloves x and a few who have started getting skin conditions .... so I guess it really is at the risk of the creator xx but mask is 100%%%%%% needed x

You've been doing resin for a while now and I'm really enjoying watching you. Can you recommend any UK resins for coasters with reasonable titting around times, preferably with HALS (stuff that prolongs uv resistance), preferably not expensive?

@@ClairesCraftyCorner Well good luck and best wishes. Above all stat safe.
@@geraldshultz4271 thanks Gerald xx same to you lovely xx
But i was wondering if you can use resin indoors and if it’s safe I have a Respirator but I’m not sure if it’s safe to use indoors also I live in a cold climate but inside it’s warm I do have a balcony perfect for doing resin outside but we have a lot Rainy days so it’s not possible for me to so resin outside my work space is also not ventilated
I habe a small tiny window wich is where my desk is is it still safe to use my resin there with a respirator ? even if my work space is not good ventilated?
Heyyyy lovely ... I use resin indoors. Some people say it is not safe indoors so this is at the creators own risk. I have a spare room .. large windows ... door is closed. I wear a respirator and gloves and now eye goggles. I also have no pets or children ... I would definitely say at your own risk ... as I truly believe we do not know enough about EPOXY to say either way ... I just make sure I am as safe as I can be .... but I have seen so many people do Epoxy in their kitchen ... no mask .. no gloves... surrounded by kids and animals ... I always try to share advice when I see this x
I cannot Epoxy outside .. too much weather. Xxx
@@ClairesCraftyCorner thank you so much for answering! Yes it’s kinda ,,dump“ that we acutely have do our own research on an product that is very toxic I’ve seen a lot of people with out wearing a mask too and i just thought ,,whyyy?”
It’s acutely also sad that their is not enough information about a product that is very toxic and people don’t talk about it much in their videos
i was Searching the question,,if it’s safe to use Resin inside” and did it a lot of digging
Mostly it will say ,,now days resin safe to use indoors” when it’s acutely not
There wasn’t even one video where i got the full answer to if Epoxy is fully safe to use indoors
I think they should’ve done a better job at putting a product out that is that toxic
acutely in every resin box their must be fully a safety paper sheets everything we need to know about resin and how to protect or self some resin has Safety paper sheets but for some of us it’s just not enough especially kids that are watching this thinking it’s a good hobby and don’t know that is is very toxic to them
I agree 100% with you ... companies need to do more. I did a lot of research back in January and actually spoke to at least 10 brands who all recommend PPE and respirators are worn ... my plan was to do a safety video at some stage. It is hard when so many people think you are over reacting when you talk about full safety wear.
Hey Claire's blessings!!
❤❤ xx
I wore a new respirator yesterday and have broken out in a rash along my nose and by chin. I think I may be allergic to the part that is against my skin.....latex?? now what
Oooooh no Latex allergies are not fun i'm so sorry .. if you know its the latex I guess finding a latex free mask would help x
Gurl yur video iz so damn ass HELPFUL! THANK YOU!!! :’0 💖💖💖
so glad you found it helpful xxx
Thank you so much! When you want to do a resin art and not coaster, what do you pour it on? a canvas? If you answered that I apologize.
Heyyyyy hunee . .. yes I would pour on a canvas or a board x you can coat wood as well xxx
Are there boards for resins or just any board? Thanks for replying 😊
@@tippetsm ahhh no not that I know of .. I made a video where I just used art boards .. basically really stiff cardboard .. they worked out well xx hold up I'll send you the link .. you don't have to watch the whole thing lol but just so you can see what I mean xxx

Hey Duck .... Ivuse silicone cups from Amazon ... and I use Calibrated cups for resin from Glass Cast website. However you can buy Calibrated cups from Amazon too x
@@ClairesCraftyCorner thanks sm ☺️
you mention using a resin for the doming to fill in dip, have you a link for this please? :)
Heyyy Dawn .. ohh I will have to watch the video again to understand what I said lol ... if it is top coating then I have just done this quick one ... ua-cam.com/video/5QsumcEVUqk/v-deo.html
Do I still need a respirator if I'm doing my resin art outdoors?
If you are outside I would say not really .... but definitely check with the manufacturer.. Also outside there is a huge risk of debris getting in to your resin so make sure it is covered with a box after the pour xxxx
Hi, what kind of respirator is the one that you use for resin?
Hi Mile ... Any respirator designed for fumes and gases will be fine .. Screwfix had a few I just got this one with no reason ither than that lol .. I saw loads on ebay ... but felt like I needed to talk to a person when buying xx
hello Claire ,i'm starting to work with resin and make small accessories, to help my parents with household expenses, my mother is very concerned with my health, and i am fifteen (almost sixteen), would there be any danger to my health working with resin at that age?, even with all the precautions, gloves, ventilated place, mask etc?
Hi Helena, my advice would be to contact the Resin manufacturer and ask them . My Nieces do Resin art at school and they are 16 and 14. I cannot however, tell you that its safe for you. Find your resin of choice and speak to the companies. Very cool that you wish to help your parents with expenses! VERY COOL indeed 🙌🙌🙌🙌 they must be so proud xxxxx
@@ClairesCraftyCorner Oh okay thank you very much, i will try to contact them, as i wait for response i will study more about resin in your channel i really liked all the tips, and thanks again my parents say i don't need to but i think is the least i can do for them 😊
@@Heldorah-ey8gc ahhhh thats incredible ... I have just e mailed the top 6 resin companies that I know ... and I will let you know what they say also xxxx (if they reply)
@@ClairesCraftyCorner Thank you very much i appreciate 😊
@@Heldorah-ey8gc no worries at all ... so far two companies have said they don't put ages on. They recommend parental permission and supervision. And of course full safety wear. So based on this it sounds OK. Still check with the brand you buy xxxx
Hi, I wondered if you could recommend a uk supplier for the jewelry starter kit?
heyyyy lovely, I got a starter kit from BeeBeeCraft I think they are UK based x
