just like to mention that there is a Subaru recall for the backing plates which you should also do when replacing the rear wheel hubs as Subaru determined that the issue was caused by the backing plate mounting pad the hub bolts through and the hub bearing assembly sits on. Thanks for the video though!

overall great video with good tips, love the post edits! Warning for anyone in the rust belt, the assembly is likely rusted to the knuckle. Can be impossible to remove without breaking the bearing, leaving the back half in the knuckle. If you live in the rust belt, be ready to deal with that kind of fall out either with tools or some other backup plan. I tried hitting the screws from behind like he showed, with the vehicle on jacks, couldn't quite get 'solid' swings in, hub didn't budge. I'm taking it to a shop. Again, well laid out video! I subscribed!

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm in the rust belt, so I'll have to decide whether to try this or not.

Very informative video. Love how you fast forwarded all those unneccessary wait time for the screw installations. Plus you were able to insert Ms Rachel haha

Very good DIY video. I have a 2014 Forester that needs both sides done. Im not in the rust belt but the car is 10 years old. I could see the wheel speed sensor removal being an issue.

Is that the new design of the backing plate? One video said that if you don't update the backing plate it will do the same thing again?

I just watched this and this is very helpful thank you for that. And I have a question for you ? Should I purchase Genuine OEM parts for my Subaru or does it really matter? And plus me and a family member will be doing this for the first time as well.

Thank you. It’s really your call. I try to use either oem or an oem manufacturer like koyo, ac delco, Delphi, etc.
