Thank you for this long form interview with this legend! Kelly has so much knowledge to share with this world and I love hearing him talk about all kinds of different topics. He's one of the best athletes to ever walk this planet, a multi business owner, and seems to be an incredible human with a genuine heart though I've never met him in person. I hope he continues to give us these interviews as he gets older and hopefully gets a little more free time in his life once off of the WSL tour. What I hope happens now that foiling disciplines are really starting to grow that he gets into foiling and is one of the best foilers in the world until he's like 85 years old since some of the foiling disciplines aren't as demanding on the body. His ability to read the ocean is probably still the best in the world so he would be insane at down wind foiling, etc. He geeks out on anything involving surf technology so he will really geek out on all the technology that's in these foiling designs. This is just my selfish hope since I've turned all my focus and love of surfing over to mostly just obsessing over foiling these days! Now the foiling world wants/needs Kelly for the next 30-plus years!
There's an interview with Mick Fanning speaking about this. He said Seth who lost to him at pipeline said Kelly wasn't out there and Mick mentioned that Kelly talks to waves.

Kelly is just aligned. It's crazy. He just fits into the universe. Look where he's sitting .. Did anyone notice? The plant on the left perfectly follows the curb of all his face and head on the right side.. The poster behind him cuts right to the left side and falls right on his neck then follows the shoulder... He's in a frame. All the time. It's mindblowing. He's what I call "a perfect 2" as well... His name, month of birth, day of birth, the sum of all the letters in hisname, they ALL equal 2. He's phenomenal. Maybe he'll convert to Islam too someday. Inchaallah who knows.
