Thanks you, i have been searching for this fix, i attached a rubber pad to that lever and the roof now works perfectly, mine didnt have a rubber stop at all but now it does :-)
Can you please tell us exactly how and where we can check all switches? Untill now happened two times, roof did't worked ( Error:Roof mechanism faulty) but after few hours or days it worked again. Last week we got the same message and since then it doesn't work. We closed it manually but now we can't open it. We checked the pump, the oil level is high enough. Our visual inspection of all visible wires and pipes showed us that everything is ok. No oil leakage. We would like to check all microswitches but we don't know how we can find all of them. Note: when we press the same switch from the video doesn't makes on/off sound. Can this microswitch be the reason why we can't open the roof? We are struggling whole week with this problem. If you know please give us any tip or advice . We are in love with our car, but as we are living in Germany, any garage repair would cost more than our car :(
I don't know position of all the switches, but the ones I know are one in the roof to react to locking mechanism of the roof to windscreen frame, one in the middle as shown in the video and one in the back of the tailgate. Switches have to make distinctive clicking sound when depressed, if it doesn't there is a chance that switch is faulty. Fault-finding is hard and slow process on them roofs. It took me two days(whole weekend) to sort our roof
I encountered the same problem. Open Roof, the trunk could not be closed and the action could not be completed. I also tried your method, but it didn't work. What other methods can I try?thanks
I spent about five hours to get it working, it is hard guess. Mechanism has few sensors and actuators. Please carefully trace them and check them. One of them is not completing operation. Don't use the force because something can get damaged
Hello, my roof got stuck folded, i was cleaning it and left it half open, from the weight it folded itself and now the close-open button does nothing, when i press it i hear a little "tick" sound from back of the backseats and thats it, the last plastick cover has not came out too so its stuck in the process of folding, anyone had anything similar maybe?
I had that once. First thing, don't force the roof.i can't remember 100% what I did but being it was as following, access main pump in the boot and release the hydraulic pressure , then carefully lift the roof up to closed position. Check the actuator in the boot( one showed in the video) and start operation by button. There was a video on internet showing same thing on older 206. And it worked I hope it helps
If I understand the roof is open and not closing, fuses ok Please don't force the mechanism, it is sensitive The reasons could be *Electrical, fuses, control switches in the cab, sensors and microswitches or hydraulic pump motor *Hydraulic, leak on the system or not enough of fluid Please check them all patiently To manually close the roof usually following should work( if mechanical linkage is not damaged). In the boot by side of sister tire is the main hydraulic pump. There is a bypass valve (Allen key) that when is open it releases hydraulic pressure. Then your can gently close the roof manually. All the best👍
It appears it has got stuck in mid process, one of the actuators (or micro switches) has not been activated. Entire process is split into 3 or 4 operations and on completion of each operation dedicated micro switch will be pressed by one of the linkages to confirm that previous step is completed, so it can engage following step. Please don't force the roof up or down, you might bend some of the linkages and cause further damage. There is a way of releasing the pressure on hydraulic pump(located on the boot, right hand side of spare wheel) and then manually assist roof down to closed position.
It is worth checking for sure. Opening and closing are consisting of few independent steps, each step has a micro switch that tells control unit that certain step of operation is completed, only then control unit wool activate next step of operation in with opening or closing the roof. It is very important to patiently examine each step of operation to determine which after of operation of not completing. It might sound confusing a bit, but there are only three or four steps in either opening or closing of the roof. It also depends at what point roof gets stuck. Usually gets stuck on the end of the step operation. It is very important never to force roof, it might result in bending or deforming arms
Have you made padding to thick perhaps, try to remove it or replace with something thinner. Usually only needs little bit to compensate for loss in reach of the switch
@@mrfxr1695 Yes I believe that could be the problem as well so I removed it from the lever already, however it is still stucked 😭 Maybe I am taking it to the service centre tmr
@@mrfxr1695 and also when I was closing it the speed was very very slow, so I suspect maybe it is broken? Please reply if you have any solutions I could try, thanks in advance !

Grazie!!!

thanks for the tip. But didn't you really notice that the rubber is made to turn? No need for cardboard repairs.

Come posso chiudere manualmente la capotta. È rimasta bloccata aperta e non si chiude. I fusibili sono ok

E se invece durante l’apertura del tetto si alza la parte dietro cioè il baule e poi si blocca il sistema e non ritorna neanche giù?

Hello there, Would you think this might be the same sort of issue for the roof not completing it's close rather than it's open please?

Yes, you have to remove door card and lubricate window mechanism, also make sure to clean window rubber gasket

Tuve el mismo problema ahora funciona bien
My roof is not opening
Check the fuse or switches
Also check hydraulic pump in the boot next to the spare wheel
