WARNING metal tyre valve caps galvanic oxidation/corrosion
Переглядів 20Місяць тому
Galvanic corrosion (also commonly termed bimetallic corrosion) is an electrochemical process. That is to say, it occurs as a result of the flow of very small electric currents usually between two dissimilar metals which causes the more anodic of the two metals to corrode, the noble or cathodic metal being unaffected.

I will try again, I am on my third Dekco DC5L camera and this latest camera has the same fault as the other two which I have returned. They all fail at the start, as the camera is plugged into the power adaptor all that happens is a flashing green light. No movement of the camera or white light, just a flashing green light, push reset and again only a bleep and nothing else. I believe Amazon may have a duff batch of cameras, have any other persons experience the same problem ?
I didn't have that problem. You're right, it might be a bad batch. I hope you'll get it sorted 👍
i had this on one of my windows. and a double glazing repair man come out and said it would cost me £500 to replace!! what a con. i left it as it was.. it was only a small casement window.
😲£500?!? That's shocking!
start again
rubber seal
Yep, I know 😅
Can you help please the lights where is shows the numbers aren't on but the plug is on with a red light what does that mean ? Is it the battery or is it broken ?
Sorry, I don't know
Thanks so much was looking everywhere for it.
I'm happy it helped 👍🙂 All the best
Very informative video. Thank you.
Thanks 👍
Angles above door 🫣😱
It's not as bad as it looks, camera has made it distorted fair bit
If you close a hand around possible leak sites ,washing up liquid and water ,,will blow bubbles out between your fingers too
Use a blowtorch, that’s what most plumbers do lol they go running from joint to joint
😂
@ it’s true lol it can’t explode, gas is only dangerous if a room is filled with it and then it’s lit
@@rbxrockettrio8650 true, for kaboom you'll have to have 70-80% of air and 20-30% gas in closed space. Gas will not explode in the pipe
I imagine you can smell the odour they put in just ask the guy of friends
You better not be calling plumbers back to fix your gas leak lad 😅
Even they are supposed to be gas safe registered engineers, I referred them as plumbers,.. For obvious reasons 😉
How to make your washing up liquid bubble...add gas
😁
If you just use a match to burn it off it'll be fine and dandy 👍
😂
Dorris pass me the lighter so i can work out where this hissing is coming from 😂😂
🤣😂🤣
You've created bubbles when applying which can hamper your detection. Keep it liquid and gently apply and youll get better results.
👍🙂
If you drive in a straight line your tyres last longer.
Lighter will do as well
😁 definitely
It will eat into the copper, so wash it all off and use ldf, leak detection fluid😮
Do you sell ldf for a living?
I am slightly turned on now.
😂
Fun fact. You can use gas to find washing up liquid leaks
😃😉
I enjoyed that too much
Just buy a bottle of leak detector, it’s non corrosive, detergent is very corrosive btw 👍
Hi thanks for the tip I’ve just piped up my whole house in copper first time ever doing plumbing, what else can corrode copper?
Clearly didn’t do a tightness test did he .. what a fool.
Yep 👍 he didn't
@ riddor reportable 💀
Or use gas leak detector spray
Good job
Thanks 👍
Judt use match 😂
🤣😂 next time
@mrfxr1695 😂
Im a gas safe engineer . We do not ever use washing up liquid . If you smell gas turn the gas tap off at the metre and call a gas safe engineer not a plumber because plumbers are like gas men without brains. Bit like this simple git
I asked plumber once how does the solder go up into the seal. It kinda sucks it in. A bit extra care is evidentally required.
Heat is the answer the solder follows the heat .. I'm a gas safe engineer.
Flux, heat and capillary action combined cause solder to be "pulled" in the joint. Definitely care should be taken on gas lines and adequate leak test after installation
Speay bottle with soap does the same thing
Definitely true👍
I always use a naked flame seems to work fine and deffo finds the leak
I used this on a girl it work who said it wasn’t her that kept farting. Loosing gas wasn’t the only thing that happened 😂
🤣😂
My name is Michael pain. And I’m a nosey neighbor 😂
😂
I bought a Ridgid gas detector which works a treat but is about 80 quid more expensive than a bottle of washing up liquid.
Well, that is very much correct 😉, washing up liquid is much cheaper
Work's on anything that has air/gas. We do this at work for finding punctures/leaks on tyres and wheels
True, that is efficient, quick and safe way 👍
"Beat the devil out of it"
😂🤣👍
Nice now find my ass leak
Excellent and easy way of detection
Thanks 👍
‘That’s the way the wife liked it. Last night’
Hmmm...😏
I prefer using an open flame from a lighter . ❤
Professional way 😉
Sounds like Mr. Beean.
😂
I've seen a Indian guy find it with a lighter
That way is done only by professionals 😂
Since when do you use copper for a gas line? Did you use inert gas to pressurize it to find a leak? I have questions!
I didn't. Plumber did. I've called him back to rectify the fault. This is in the UK. Cooper is the most common pipe for the gas here All the best 👍
Most gas lines in UK are copper after the gas meter. They're tested by using the meter to carry out a drop test which clearly wasn't done on this job
@@SuperSlightofhand absolutely correct. I think he rushed pressure drop test. I've got him back to rectify same day
Works on tires too
True, easy way 😉
Dude not a bad idea. I ussually just use soapy bubbles inna bottle. Which can kinda be inaccurate
Thanks, it's so simple and effective All the best 👍
Its a very bad idea. We gas safe engineers do not ever use washing up liquid.. if you smell gas turn the gas mains tap off at the metre and call out a gas engineer. Not a plumber..
Mine was doing the exact same thing. It would not flush solids. So I turned the water valve down about half way and now the was shoots like jets and flushes everything!
I've heard about it, we have tried it and it didn't work here unfortunately.
When that washing up liquid eats into the copper pipe you will be calling them back out. Use proper LDF
?!? Since when is washing up liquid aggressive to copper?
@@mrfxr1695since forever. You’re obviously not a gas engineer 🤦♂️
@@01mrgingetrue, I'm not gas engineer, that's why I'll have to call them back to repair their leaky pipe connection 😉
@mrfxr1695 I'm a gas safe engineer . Are you telling us you know better ? .we dont use washing up liquid Ever as it is corrosive the ph levels in the liquid you've just spead all over the pipes has not created an electrolytic action because of the catholic reaction. Now you have just caused the weakest metal to corrode I suggest you either leave it to experts or educate yourself. And this is from me a gas safe engineer . It people like you that cause issues because they think they are clever. And this just shows us how clever you really are.
@tristancraven3685 many thanks for the insight. I can't say that I know better than you or not . I don't know you. The issue here is that connection was done by gas safe engineer week before me detecting the leak. A gas safe engineer must know that after installation adequate leak test must be completed before leaving the property. In this case, if the test has been concluded properly, leak wouldn't be there, and I would have to look for it to prove the leak to engineer to get him back. Leak is not acceptable, it is not good a enough. All the best buddy 👍
RIDDOR that ain’t it?
Is it? It was done by gas safe plumber
Joints should be brazed when using copper for gas. Sweat soldering is not allowed for gas distribution .
Yes they are, you must be an American 🤡
US? This was filmed in the UK, copper with soldered joints is right way in the UK
Copper gas lines?! Wow, I rarely see that nowadays. Propane using copper yeah, but not Nat Gas.
What do you use?
What else instead of copper?
@@mrfxr1695here in chicago code is black iron, never seen copper used for gas, copper is code for water
Black iron if the gas is coming from the city. Might use copper if you have your own tank on your property
My gas pipes are copper too in england
