Hey there, we've already got a tutorial for using the PodMic USB with RØDE Central here: rode.com/en/user-guides/podmic-usb#section-using-with-rode-connect Let us know if you have any other questions!
I recently got this microphone and I notice even with the +63db the volume on the microphone is very low. Am I doing something wrong or is this mic not normal? I am using USB-c connection to my Mac Studio. I maxed out the output sound on System preference too. Help please.
Hey there, this isn't normal! Usually it might be normal to have PodMic USB's gain as high as +50, but if it's +63 and it's still too quiet, that's an issue. We recommend you get in contact with our support team here: rode.com/en/support/contact
Hi, I just purchased the Rode Podmic USB and have been trying to change the processing settings in Rode Central. I adjust the noise gate, compressor and exciter settings and they work fine. However when I close the Rode Central app or restart my computer all of the settings for noise gate, compressor and exciter return back to factory defaults except the gain. I am using my PC and am using usb C connection only. Is there something I am doing wrong? Is it normal to have to redo my settings every time I open up Rode Central?
Hey there, settings should be saved between uses (even when unplugged), we'd suggest reaching out to our Service Team to help you troubleshoot this! rode.com/contact

@rodemic recently purchased this mic and been using it in usb. It picks up a lot of background noise even with the noise gate on, so my question is if going the XLR route would help eliminate background noice and focus mainly on my voice.
Connecting to XLR > over USB won't make a difference here. It sounds like you may need to bring your mic closer to your mouth when recording, dynamic mics are designed to be right up close to your mouth, this will do two things 1. Improve your voice's signal-to-noise ratio and 2. Mean you don't need to have the gain set as high to come through clearly. Of course the noise gate and high pass are there after the fact to fine tune this if you need them!
Hi , can you do a tutorial for the app after the update?

@@rodemic when i say quiet i have hard time reach -6 to 0. Is it because it’s a dynamic mic?
@@rodemic so if i have it on +50db what should be my outcome recorded volume like? Around -18~-20db?
