Thanks for watching Andy. To be honest it was more awkward to film from than to fish, I've definitely fished from worse although the track round my side of the lake was very rough and could do with a bit of levelling.
Thanks Karl. Braid does make a huge difference spotting shy bites, you just have to be careful bringing fish back, particularly those soft mouthed skimmers as you're relying on the rod to cushion everything. A shock leader gives you a bit of stretch but sometimes if it's only a short chuck I won't use one, that's when the soft rod comes into play, either that or a switch to mono.
Cheers Andy but you know what they say ""a miss is as good as a mile"" and you're only as good as your last match, one day you're close, the next miles off. I'll keep trying though🤞💪🎣🐟
Cheers Dougie. Never quite know where the fish are going to be on the day but the rocky culvert is a good peg. The following day 58lb came of peg 77 in the YDAA summer league, first one in on the length and 15 below me. 7lb was the next best weight!
Unlucky John, close one. We have to keep on trying. Riverfest on Yare for me this weekend after a dismal effort on the Don last week! Better luck next time, good video, enjoyed it and thought you did very well encouraging them bream on.
Thanks John, I felt I fished a decent match, just didn't quite have enough willing fins in front of me😉. I've got the Don next weekend and I love it there, came so close last year missing out by ounces so hope I can go 1 better this time. Ive never fished the Yare, that's a long haul for me (what's the primary target species?), but am heading to Ely Great Ouse in September.
@@HOOKEDFishingChannel Most either target the Bream / skimmers or go all out on the roach which can be caught around the 7m line and can be a very good stamp, I had one of a pound last year on the whip (in the tidal flow that pulled!). In the autumn some cracking roach are caught. Good luck on the Don. If it is anything like last week, sticking on the feeder may be a good plan - which I didn't do 😞
Yes Ian, I thought I made the right decisions on the day, maybe I should have got the float out in hindsight but you can miss out on those late bream. I felt I fished it well and I don't always come away thinking that so maybe just didn't have enough fish in front of me on the day. 🤔
Bloody Hell Muzza, surprised there wasn't any thick smoke coming out the windows of that green barge, the tunes were definitely of a different more liberal era 😁😁
Great effort my mate.Lovely net of fish.Thought you had nicked it.Well filmed you climbing the bank and all.But what a peg your section winner had.Pleased for you after some torrid matches.Things hopefully now going your way.👏
Thanks Clive, just need to take it a couple of steps further, been knocking on the door but it hasn't fully opened for me. As you know, it's not easy to win unless you're on a shed load.
well fished John thought you had made it but not to be, always next time mate. Cracking video with excellent camera positions could see everything ,well done. Cecil B DeMille would be proud of you lol.
Thanks Dennis, not sure I'm quite at Cecile's level of production but I'll take the compliment. Don't really know how I could have improved on my placing on the day, it was close, keep thinking about those missed bites at the start but I was right on top of them so can only imagine they were small fish. I never lost a fish that I hooked, despite the bream trying it's best.
Thanks pal. I thought so but as is the case with most sporting events, somebody has to come 4th and and miss out on the medals 😭 At least it was a nice days fishing, beats working 😉
really good try there john but there was some good bream caught, bit longer on long line and maybe framed eh ,not a good peg though for comfort you did well, good vid.
Brilliant bait, methods and tackle commentary John, so easy to follow. Another stunning venue to fish, awesome tactics switching baits to keep filling up your net with fish . Excellent netting with that reed bed in front of you. Don’t suppose the jimmy Hendrix boat helped the swim.. And for a laugh 😂 watch John Murray he’s so more interesting than Murray mints 😂.
That's all it would have taken, I felt I fished a good match m, maybe should have tried for some perch down the edge but then might have missed out on the late bream, decisions, decisions 🤷♂️
@@HOOKEDFishingChannel I don't think you did owt wrong. If the little perch move in and start playing with the bait there's nowt you can do except hope a bream gets there first.
The second rod was actually setup the same as the first, I thought I was setup on a Heli rig from a previous session but I'd changed it to a feeder bead, 2 float stops, a twizelled boom and a quick change swivel on the end if that. The shock leader was guru shield 8lb and this is joined to the mainline using an Albright knot. Hope this helps.
Another great video John. Nice to see you didn't loose it when that fish snagged you up. Unlucky on the result. How often do we wish for one more fish.
Thanks Mike, patience is a virtue they say. My mum always said I had no patience so I'd be no good at fishing, she watches my vids and can't believe how I can spend so long waiting for a bite (particularly the barbel ones). Fishing brings out the best in us.
Now't you could do about that you fished a tidy match buddy ' better luck next time ' and congratulations to Dom . 👍
Thanks Martin. Pleased for Dom like, he did well, and managed that extra pull I was looking for.
Unlucky mate, fine margins. Well done to Dom and other qualifiers.
Just how it goes mate, you know me, put it behind me and get ready to go again😉🤞
Great video John. What an awkward peg to fish from. Just one more slab would have done it. Thanks for your time and trouble in making this film.
Thanks for watching Andy. To be honest it was more awkward to film from than to fish, I've definitely fished from worse although the track round my side of the lake was very rough and could do with a bit of levelling.
Well done Jon thought you had it there mate, a lot of good bream in that match good video to go with it Thank you 👍
Cheers James, sadly not to be but it was a close run race.
It’s Dom from Adam’s fishing adventures!
Smash’s it everytime!
Guess we should call him the Dominator 🤣
Great watch as always john, unlucky with final weight but getting closer, what a difference braid makes for the tiny knocks 👍👍👍

Unlucky John lad great video highly appreciated mate
Thanks for watching James👍
Hard luck there John. So close. You are getting nearer to qualifying, sure it will come,
Cheers Andy but you know what they say ""a miss is as good as a mile"" and you're only as good as your last match, one day you're close, the next miles off. I'll keep trying though🤞💪🎣🐟
allways a pleasure to watch your ace vids john, looks like you were done for the section by the flier,

Well done John good days fishing I applaud you getting the bream out of the snag unreal.
Thanks Fred, a little bit of patience and a lot of luck but I knew it was a good fish so didn't want to pull for a break.
Some excellent angling skills on display here mate.
Thanks Anthony, hopefully it will help a few lads out.
Unlucky John, i thought you fished well mate, and the video footage was excellent thank you, good luck for next time. Ian in the Borders

I didn't quite catch it on camera but just upstream he was headbanging🤣 He looked a proper character 🎸
Good angling in getting that Bream out of the snags
A bit of patience and a lot of luck Andy 😉
@@HOOKEDFishingChannel Yes indeed , but never the less its still good angling
i felt for you there John. well done on a great video.

Well fished John on what was an awful peg.
Thanks Peter, think I'm going to start packing some earplugs, it's not exactly a peg you'd choose to fish although it always throws a few fish up.
Good try Jon nice fish see you on the next one nice fish thight lines
Thanks David, looking forward to the Don and hopefully the weather will be a bit cooler for us.😎
Well done John 👏 nice bream 😎

I know mate and the post🤣
Great video mate, hopefully you can get there in next one 💪🏻
Cheers Dom, no luck on the Tees on Saturday so next up it's the Don 🤞
@@HOOKEDFishingChannel Good luck just need a good drawing arm on the day
Hard lines John, thought the fish Gods were with you when you landed the stuck fish.
still a great video...next time mate.
Thanks Gaz, it was a close one, gutted at the result to be honest, thought I'd done enough to get a touch but that's match fishing for ya.
Well fished, deserving of a better result 👍👏👏

really good try there john but there was some good bream caught, bit longer on long line and maybe framed eh ,not a good peg though for comfort you did well, good vid.
Yeah, I tried to tempt another bite on it but it just didn't happen, just how it goes John, the fish just weren't there in numbers
Disappointed you didn’t do a bit of head banging for the camera @ 20:00 😃
Great vid good day, pity about the placing tight lines 👍🍺
He was head banging just upstream off camera, too hot for me to start moshing🤣
Hard luck mate but an enjoyable watch as usual.
Thanks Neil 👍

unlucky john but a decent match all the same well done
Thanks Tony, not sure what else I could have done, felt I fished well, tempting those bites with the draw back, one more fish would have done it.🤷♂️
On the second rod you mentioned the feeder but what was the link you used above the feeder pse?
