Gooe on ta jon congrats on fish o know you will be up there with the best of em!!. Katie still looks a sweetheart.who could resist that cheeky grin.vest of luck jon.
Well done JA! Thank you for the content, as always. Every wind in I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see if the stamp would improve. You can only catch what’s in the peg, looks like all in that stretch fished consistently and hard. 👏🫵👏
Great video again Jon, I noticed just how accurate your casting was on the day. Good luck for Saturday I can't think of anyone who deserves to win more than you
Thoroughly enjoyed that. You always manage to make it feel relaxing despite the stresses and demands of the match. Also well done for proving that men can multitask…if only when fishing.
Great video as always Jon. Hope your feeling better now, congratulations for your fisho qualification and good luck for Saturday I’ll be watching from home cheering you on
I have to say you have a great attitude to your fishing Jon lad. Always giving an honest opinion about yourself and your fishing. Here's hoping for a better draw for Fish O' smash it mate.
Really enjoyed that, Jon. Shame about the weather but that seems to be our lot this summer. Hope your Fisho draw is a good one because I’m going to have money on you, lol 🤞😁😁😁
Great to see back on it mate,my god how time flies, doesn't seem like 6 yrs ago that you were doin recon with baby Katie strapped to you! Good luck for Saturday mate🎣🎣🥇
All the best at Fish O Mania Jon. Enjoy your content and used to play a fair bit of golf at Patshull when I lived in the U.K. Thought the main lake was mainly for trout and a bit of piking in the winter so was surprised to see a coarse match there. Fished the smaller pool there as a kid once and caught a few roach and surprisingly eels.
Great video Jon, sorry you didn't do better but hope you do better at fisho. Hope you are feeling better now as you sound better.will be going through all your videos again soon during my stay in hospital having a second op on a broken femur bone
Hi Jon couldn't help but notice that you close the bail arm immediately after casting, would this cause the feeder to drop back towards yourself in deep water. Good luck in the final 🤞🎣
He's casting to the reel clip which means no extra line will come off the reel so that's why he closes the bail arm straight away , when feeder hits bottom 1or 2 turns on the reel to tighten the tip and give you some line on top of the clip to give you a bit of protection in case of a savage bite. Hope that helps you.
@@jaycfc6955 Hi Jay, thanks for your reply, ok so it makes sense then to pack the feeder tight in order to keep the feed in one area. Have fished Patshull Park a few times in the past and enjoyed just for the challenge. I think it's probably the one of a few places to master the slider, I know some of the regulars who are or were good using this method.
@@carphead2009 your welcome mate, the slider method is something I'd like to master 👍 I don't use a pole prefer using the old skool float and feeder rods 🎣
John do you like the covered bait trays for feeder fishing? What do you do when it rains etc.... I,m just using a towel at present. Don't know what too buy.
I recon you could have won your section if you hadn't dropped those "30 odd fish" in the wrong side of the net, ( I noticed you only showed us 3 fish dropping off) !!! Seriously though, when that rainstorm struck I had to put a jumper on, because I could feel that temperature drop the same as you !! that's how realistic your video's are. Cheers.
@@JonArthur I had several closed face reels back in my "trotting" days but have since sold them all except for a Ryobi CF1 that I use for waggler fishing as it has a slightly wider spool than the ABU's.
How are you feeling now any better l hope. Saw you fishing at a match where David Woods was as l follow him on his bag up videos. No idea where it was but he said you had well over 100lb .
Could you explain why the margins were lest out? Or is that really only any good with the pole or float? Can't believe Katy is 6 already. Only seems like a few weeks ago we saw her in a walker at White acres. No 2 ways about it, she's really sweet, and no doubt a little madam too... LOL Our baby girl is in her mid 30s now, and has made us very proud grandparents. Take care Jon. TTFN
@@JonArthur Patshull park mix was an old carp boilie mix John, from memory, one of the original carp boilie mixes made by the lads who either fished the place or ran it. not sure which tbh
This is what I found on Carpology, from Shaun Harrison: The bait that changed everything was the boilie recipe I came up with to fish Patshull Park’s Church Pool syndicate over 30 years ago. Patshull was riddled with eels at the time, and fishing boilies during the summer months was just about impossible. I came up with a combination that they didn’t like but the carp loved. When Nashbait started, the base mix became known as Amber Attract, and the blend of essential oils I used in it became known as Sting Oil. Not only did it allow me to fish boilies in the warmer months, it also taught me the very important lesson that winter baits don’t need to have lots of artificial flavours leaching out. That bait was a superb winter catcher.
Very "peggy" Patsull but lovely fishing. Thanks for sharing your match fishing Jon much appreciate and good luck at fish'o 👍
Thanks Paul

Yep such a shame but i think the three day festival on the middle pegs ending the day before didn't help
Love the new soundtrack too my friend 👍Good luck for the Fisho Final 💪💪💪

Always great videos John was buzzing when you got that 20 pound carp. I think you are one of the best anglers about all the best john

Very enjoyable watching you catch the little ones for a change. Shame the bigger skimmers didnt turn up. Good luck for the big one on Saturday. Cheers
Yep it was nice getting lots of small fish, just needed some bonuses amongst them
Great video as always Jon,think you are under rating yourself as a top feederman.
Good luck in the final at fish o mania.

Fishing to a clip and hitting the clip with the rod up so it takes that into account.

Don't know what too buy.
I hate covering up but i have the new Matrix bait brolly which I should be using more often.Flip top lids and towels are fine for a lot of baits
37:14 any chance you could explain this corn hooking method as I've not seen it before?
Hair-rigged corn, using a quickstop or super stop 👍

I hope you have a good draw once they can do it properly. Good luck for the final.

i reckon that pond needs part filling, job its too deep to catch good fish do you think
The end we were is the 'deeps' and I imagine its great in winter and still plenty of small fish

Busy busy day Jon. I guesstimated you'd have 10lbs plus but well done. Is that an ABU on top of the drawers behind you ??
Yep it needs repairing

That was the Barston Feeder Masters. I was 4th overall and missed out on winning the 20-peg qualifying zone by one fish. Ouch!
Thank god for that ? I was thinking it was only me that had broken rod tips when I took them from my bag
Yes not ideal!

I 'plumbed' the margins but they were too weedy for the feeder and I felt a 9m swim was short enough
@@JonArthur OK, Thanks Jon.
6 years old. How that time has flown. Is she still into her fishing 🎣 ?

Home of the infamous boilie mix.
I had to look that up and assume you mean Amber Attract?

Just before you dropped thst fish hitting the rest I was thinking that rest is bigger than I'd like it.
Those long rests are ideal for small fish work but can get in the way too for sure

Bananarama
For a pole at these prices I expect a side puller
Wrong thread I think!? My pole has a side puller... but this was a feeder-only vid haha
To bright and to warm patshull fishes better with wind on it .....I fish it regular .
Cheers Stuart, yes it was a bit warm and muggy for feeder. I would've had 20lb up in the water or on a whip with slop and casters/maggots I reckon!
@@JonArthur yes you would ......the draw didn't help you though .......
You still sound a bit rough
I've been much rougher!
I know you are a genius chap but stop giving the opposition help by letting fish dropping off the hook!
Ha ha. Catch n release!
looks a rubbish feeder venue there
It's a nice feeder venue, but our end was just too deep in the conditions/time of year.
