Thank you. Great video. I see these arguments on line over whether or not they browned or blued barrels. I know they had "red" (browned) armor and Black (blued) armor as well as gilded armor in the Middle Ages, so I guess either is acceptable. The techniques were well established for either.

That was my second build and I chose cold brown because it is easyer to use. The next build is on the way. it will be a kentucky pistol from used parts. The stock will be cherry or french walnut, Maybe there I will use hor browning. I have to look how it works with that and what will be the result.
That is some kind of final coating. It makes the browning of the barrel more durable and gives a red shine. I dont know if there is anything like that in US. If the browning is finished, you can aply a thin layer of "Dragons blood" , that is realy easy. Here you can find it. www.vorderlader-shop.de/index.php?cat=WG24&product=P001120

In this case it is to create a layer of rust protection and an antik look that will fit to the gun 😁
So ein broncefarbenes braunes Brüniermittel suche ich schon lange, danke für das Vorzeigen!

Hallo- haben Sie die Bräunierung zwischen den Durchgängen 12 Stunden einwirken lassen, oder weniger?

Do you find the cold browning better then hot? Or was it to protect the inlay by the breach?
