The man's good at it.
What happened to the swivel breech rifle? I wanted to see it shoot!
Oh that is still on hold because the main spring broke. So it needs a litle repair..... 😥 but I have the official shooting for the jäger rifle and did the first test. soon I will make a shooting video for that when not so many peaple are on the shooting range😁
Great work! Thanks for taking the time to video the process!
How did it turn out?
Ive been trying to build a case and i ran into so many problems, this helped alot
سلبني الفيديو عمل متقن وجذاب

انت حرفي ماهر ماهو نوع اللحام
the ends of the barrels were brazed with brass and the ripps are soldered with tin solder. That worked rather well but the process is tricky and it is very need to take care of the positioning and fixation of the barrels before the soldering. I do this just for relaxing. my job is on building steel mills.....😁

Why not thin down the spring and grind off part of "bend"? The spring strength is personal preference, but the bend will dig into the shoulder when shooting.
For the last one I made the sping out of one block, that was way more easy.... maybe on a later point I will make a new sping that sits more close to the butplate. That will make a more lower profile posible 😁
The amount of parts you make from scratch is pretty amazing. I think I finally caught back up, so I am looking forward to the next build.
Isn't that the East German Army flag?
I can’t get enough of this! Here I am, five years late. I hope you’re still doing fine work. Are there blueprints of this piece somewhere? I’ve got to try this!
i like your rifle machine how you cher the way your made tanks
How did you shape the chape? You videoed your soldering but not the forming
Oh sometimes the camera try to upset me.... 😆 I made a wedge shape paper template and cutted some 1mm brass sheet metal and bend a cone. The decorative top shape was done before bending. that is way easier.... 😁
You’re living my dream, being able to make stuff like this. Just came across your channel today and I’ve watched a lot of your rifle build and plan on watch in more of your videos
Oh that is nice Bob. at the moment I have a lot of work so there are only smal projects on the plan.... but the next one is on the way..... 😆
It looks great! Wonderful craftsmanship. Thank you for sharing.
thank you Anthony😁 it seems you need a litle project😉
That is very very nice
Oh thank you Richard...... next one is on the way..... I bought a mechanical leather sewing machine....😁 time for making a hunting pouch
Very nice!
Thank you Rick 😁
Came out real nice. 👍👏👏👏
Thank you Mark..... and soon there will be more coming up. I hope the traveling for work getting less in winter time😁
Well done, nice design on the top of the blade!
Oh every time I try to make something new😄
Roger, a great finish to a great project, congratulations, looking forward to your next series
during the last weeks I spend some time for work in central sweden and northern germany but soon there will be a new project... how about sewing a hunting pouch 😆
every thing you do👍
thanks a lot John 😁
Great job.
I like that!
Beautiful
thamk you ☺
Cover the lathe bed when using abrasives. It will wear the bed. Will they both shoot to the same point,?
Love your work. All of it.
I had been waiting for the "File Master" to show his talents again on this one. Came out really nice, great work, as always. Love the drawer full of files with all the handles on. I am going to turn a bunch of large handles like you have, I'm tired of swapping my handles around. They never fit tight and loosen up. Any thoughts on your next project? Take care and God Bless.
Roger long awaited video, great work on both knives.
Beautiful work!
Hi, great job and very nice. I would like to know how you perform the overload test. Regards.
I am still waiting on a apointment at the state office😪there was one some weeks ago but I had to work...... and next moth I will take part at the svety training for the bigger bun licence😆
Cow horn if needed chat me privetly
Roger another great video, looking forward to the next one
Thanks a lot Richard, at the moment I am preparing the material for the secondarry knife 😁
Very nice! Good work.
Thanks a lot Bruce 😁
That is looking really nice and the design on the top of the blade is really simple to do yet really effective.
je possede le meme fusil de marque chiappa il est de 1986 je tire en club a 50 metre c est vrai que la detente est assez dur beau travail est bonne chance pour vos concours salutations de france
Looks better than good. You are a Master of the File. Looking forward to the next one. PS, What was the night visitor? A Mink? A Ferret? What?
Oh thanks a lot 😁I try mey best , and it was a stone marten. Its one of the famitie of ferrets. There are currently two of them. One is coming for steeling the food and the other one stay 2m off and shouting, I think that is the woman of the couple 🤣🤣
Wonderful work!
😁 and it will get better when I make the secondary knife and the sheath
Looks great. Good job.
Oh thanks a lot 😁
Are there detailed drawings?
oh I am sorry there are no drawings for the reamer. it was the first try and i did it by try and error😁😁
Another great video as always. I have had the same thing to happen to me when editing videos for my channel. It can get frustrating. I really like the file work on the back of the blade.
Great job, the assembly shows the project in hand and the blade detail is ideal.
Thank you Richard and the next one is on the way. and I am thinking on a secondary kife for the same sheth....😆
That's nice, especially the detail on the top of the blade!
Some filework is nice all the time and it took me a wile to find out how this pettern works 😁
That's looking awesome. Your file work on the spine really shows off your uniqueness, and special details you add to all your projects. The fit up is right on. Bummer you lost the forging video, I was looking forward to that. Still, it's looking really good and the little flaw in the casting of the shell is not noticeable at all once you have it together. Great job master. Looking foreword to the rest of it.
and one more is on the way .... how about a secondery knife and maybe a picker for the top of the sheath. They can have a brass and horn handle as well.... the secondary klifes are tradition for this since the late middle ages.....
Nice job sir.
Oh thanks a lot Nigel and sooon there will be more. The next gun project is still on the drawing bord and try to get some material that is afordable.... but that is a litle difficult for a 3´´ thick walled pipe 😆😈
Hello, you did very good job. I wonder what brass alloy exactelly you melted down. I remember once I also tried to cast some casting out of brass, but when I melted it down it become to smoke very much as the zinc were burning out. Do you have some hint for this? Can you tell the exact competition of the particular metals in the alloy? I mean the percentage of Cu, Zn, and other metals.
Oh I only melt down some brass trash and dont take care of percentage at all- It is usefull to an half a teea spood of borax. this will bind impuritys and cover the melt- Next is that it should not get to hot. Casting take place after fife to ten minutes of liqid stage. Ad a low amount of zink scrap at the end to refill the zink volume that steamed out and last but not least.... ad a smal amount of lead like two 50 cal bullets on one pound or so. that will make the brass a lower viscosity and take the shape of the mold better. At least if it dont work well try and try again and again untill the recipt work well to you...... so good luck for your project 😁
@@homemadehistory7537 OK, thank you very much for your valuable advice. Next time when melting brass I will definetelly try it out. I wish you good luck too and thank you for inspiration.
He makes some of the best looking guns I've seen. Thank you for showing us how you do it
What sort of steel are you using for the breech plug? Is this mild steel or a higher carbon steel? Fantastic work.
For the barrel I use mild steel, seemless hydraulik pipe. That fits well to the preasure and should have at least 7 mm wall thickness at the raw material. Cos with the oktagon it will loose some thisckness...... The breech screw is mild steel as well 😁 hope this is helpfull to you 😁
@@homemadehistory7537 Ja vielen dank!
Looking good. You should be able to fill those little inclusions with braze
