- This is a video giving more context to my life experience growing up with Autism and not even knowing it. I was diagnosed at 4 years old but never accepted it because I believed that my level of awareness and ability to correct my behavior even though it was stressful at times made me believe “I couldn’t be autistic”. Now I am aware of the Spectrum and have connected to friends and the community and now understand what Autism is. In this video I share how many people with Aspergers and mild autism (not sure if there is a difference) will “mask” and hide their behavior to fit in an I FOR SURE have done this for over 20 years of my life not even knowing that it was Autism. I just though I was weird, sensitive, immature, and anxious lol

I believe I may have autism because I feel as if I do mask a lot of the times. I’m not 100% sure if I have it or not. No one told me I have it but my mom said that I may have it. Kind of feel like I’m going crazy just a tad sometimes trying to figure out if I have it or not. If I do have it then I believe I would be on the more functioning side on the spectrum because I can function just fine and am independent / take care of myself really well not needing to depend on anyone. My mom said I might have Asperger’s. But yes I do hide a lot & I know exactly how you feel…
