It s not that appreciated in general by 'cultivated' people, you, know, because it promotes 'bad things' :)) Although the musical both vocal and instrumental talent of those singers is admitted. @ The Kingdom of Dacia was a real thing, however, the Romans invaded it and inter-bred with Dacians...but then again, Romans conquered their other colonies, so does anyone really originate from latins? It just means we speak a language that is in the same group with other latin languages... I read once some time ago that Trajan was quoted in saying "...going back to the old land..." or something the like, when refering to taking over Dacia...so who knows? Maybe Romans came from Dacians? I wouldn't be surprised... Also, Lil Potato said "romanian" not "romanians"...which means the language originates from Latin... While that is not entirely correct (because it is not pure latin), it is close enough, roughly 60-70% of Romanian is of Latin origin...
Florin Salam sings something called manele and they are not appreciated by many people in Romania. It's mostly about rich people showing everyone how "important and cool" they are.
@Canibalu12 INFINITE RRomani people (gyp_sies), are by no means Romanian, they are Indian...And they were the lowest on the spiritual rank in India (refering to their religion), they were people handling the worst jobs (de_ad bodies/cleaning up etc.) and the jobs were passed down from generation to generation. Now, the other people had as less interaction as possible with them and would not even touch them in some cases I believe, because they were viewed as "muddied spirits" even though they were necessary. If you were born in one of them families, you would get upset too at this. So, a lot of people from that certain position just migrated to the Middle East, where they learned some of the language and did what they could to survive (yes, that includes stea ling, or trading, things like that), at some point they migrated to Europe and settled in the Eastern side. Fast forward to now, they can be technically viewed as Romanian...even though they have their own flag, secret language (you will not find a dictionary of it or anywhere to learn it but from them...and the language changes mostly from place to place, meaning gyp_sies from Poland don't speak the same language as Romanian ones etc.) and culture. Also, gyp_sies are not "black". And they are not treated badly because of their skin or heritage...they are treated bad because they treat natives and people from outside the country like cr_ap, and then we get put in the same pot as them. Seriously, you would not believe how fast people change their expression when I tell them I am Romanian...Or how many times I got called a "gyp_sy" because of them... Sure, there are exceptions, no doubt about it, your heritage has nothing to do with how you are as a person. But I have observed that ones in the "satra" (which is the name for a "flock of gyp_sies", pronounced "sha-truh") are the most vio_lent and crooked of the bunch. This is because in the satra, they live like nomads...and they follow "tradition" (which could include forced marriages depending on the area)...they view school as something for suc_kers, value gold a lot and other precious metals/money, dress like a walking stereo_type etc...I mean, they still use horses to pull a "carriage" for fu_ck's sake, on the public road, imagine how that makes our nation look....But RRomani people that are not from a satra, and have broken the loop, are ok people (which is not surprising, I mean, we are all humans, race has no play in how you act) . Now, this is not some red_neck speech about "Da_mn *_ethnic group_* act like *_stereo_type_*"...I mean, they came to us, and done us wrong on so many levels, and because of them, I and other Romanians living outside the country get treated like sh_it... This, is a heads-up for the next time you see the news and get us confused with them. Edit: UA-cam won't post my comment probably because it has some "offensive" words, so i had to get inventive.
Micro 13 you must learn to live together. They are not going anywhere. It’s just like the jews and palestinians or the Mexicans in USA, or Africans in France, or Muslims in Italy, or Muslims in China, or French in Canada, and so on and so on every nation has immigrants from other places - morally it is wrong to judge these people and assume they are bad. The world is a melting pot~every year we get more diverse.

Yes, Romanian is absolutely a LATIN LANGUAGE, there is nothing to argue. It's grammar is based on Latin, we still have the Latin case declensions that other Latin languages lost, the overwhelming majority of the vocabulary being of Latin origin. The most closely related language to Romanian is Italian (70% lexical similarity), followed by Spanish. If anybody has any doubts, let's compare the phrase ''You are my friend'': Latin: Tu mea amicae es. Romanian: Tu esti amica mea. Italian: Tu sei mio amico. Spanish: Tu eres mi amiga. And since all the recommendations you got so far are made up of only questionable mainstream music and ''manele'', here are some more refined suggestions: Coma - Cel mai frumos loc de pamant (Alternative Rock) ua-cam.com/video/L4DD8gftwN8/v-deo.html Subcarpati - Muntele Nu Plange (They make hip-hop inspired by Romanian Folk music and they often sample it, in this particular song, the girls sings in Aromanian, a dialect of Romanian spoken in Albania, Greece and Macedonia) ua-cam.com/video/NpVDySKjHjQ/v-deo.html The Mono Jacks - Un sfert de secunda (Indie) ua-cam.com/video/R00nymdAWhg/v-deo.html

Si istoric are sens, slavii au venit abia in sec 7-8 in Balcani.

Romanian is a Romance language. Italian, French, Spanish, Portugese are similar. So there are words that are similar. Reason why the Romanian is the way it is as the language is nowhere near the languages in western europe (Italy, France, Portugal, Spain). So Romanian has some Balkan influence. :) Thought that might happen Brian.

Romanian is a Latin based language. As far as lexical influences, most of it comes from Latin and French. But since Italian and Spanish are also Latin languages you will notice many similarity's between Romanian and French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.

As a linguist I can definitely say that Romanian is a Latin rooted language, as is Portuguese, Spanish and Italian! And we do have loads of words resembling English (see the Roman conquest of Britain) ❤️
No we, but English (and many others) have lots of words resembling Romanian or other Romance languages. Cânele are coadă, nu coada are câne. Most of English word, resembling Romanian ones, are of Latin origin, entered via French language. When Britain was Roman, the [Anglo-Saxono-Jute] ancestors of the English people were somewhere in Jutland peninsula of Denmark.

Oh my goodness, I can t belive it. Actually, Saint Tropez is not in Romania. The first genre that you listened to is called 'manele' and is associated to gipsies. It s not that appreciated in general by 'cultivated' people, you, know, because it promotes 'bad things' :)) Although the musical both vocal and instrumental talent of those singers is admitted. That s the essential I wanted to say, I am sorry for the eventual mistakes, my English is still perfecting :))) PS:The genre is associated with the balkanik music and culture, you know, Albania, those rhythms. And yes, the Romanian language is Latin, associated with French, Italian, Spanish. Many greetings, you do a great job!

The tipe of music like FLORIN SALALAM is called in romanian MANEA!
Im from romania:/
This is because in the satra, they live like nomads...and they follow "tradition" (which could include forced marriages depending on the area)...they view school as something for suc_kers, value gold a lot and other precious metals/money, dress like a walking stereo_type etc...I mean, they still use horses to pull a "carriage" for fu_ck's sake, on the public road, imagine how that makes our nation look....But RRomani people that are not from a satra, and have broken the loop, are ok people (which is not surprising, I mean, we are all humans, race has no play in how you act)
.
If anybody has any doubts, let's compare the phrase ''You are my friend'':
Latin: Tu mea amicae es.
Romanian: Tu esti amica mea.
Italian: Tu sei mio amico.
Spanish: Tu eres mi amiga.
And since all the recommendations you got so far are made up of only questionable mainstream music and ''manele'', here are some more refined suggestions:

Si istoric are sens, slavii au venit abia in sec 7-8 in Balcani.
