I love how, when Jon got Stormy he said 'We won't be using him all the time, he's more a backup.' And now every battle starts with 'Let's just summon Stormy.'
Well he got Stormy early by using the Atronach Forge to write himself a spell tome back when he had so little magicka that one cast pretty much bankrupted him.
He got Stormy, said "We won't use him all the time, just like on occasion" then proceeded to summon him for the _literal first Skeleton_ that he came across... Found it funny when it happened.
Jon, I hate to tell you this, but because Benor has a level cap of 30, he's going to keep getting his shit kicked in as you progress through the game. Also, it's Wuld, not wulf. Also, the black briar lodge is part of a quest, and clearly not a brewery. That was their private property and you just walked in and murdered all their guards and claimed it as your own. So basically, you have become a bandit!
He can compensate somewhat by giving him powerful enchanted weapons. Given he's not using smithing, the un-upgradable Champion's Cudgel would be perfect. Two handed, high base damage, and a ridiculously good Chaos enchantment built in. It's an absolute beast. He needs to start the Dragonborn DLC to reach it, though.
TGCommander That's pretty much all you do as the dragon born. The bandits are all pretty much minding their own business and you come along and murder them. Same with the witches and necromancers. If they're auto-hostile, they deserve what they get.
You walked up to private property, we're warned to leave, and killed everyone in the lodge, who the owner had payed to guard it. You may be in the wrong here.
In this episode Jon: Kills some bandits in a fort, Gets attacked by bears, Makes the bears kill themselves in their own cave, Finds a depressing story about a mine, Pisses off the local crime syndicate by killing their guards and stealing from their ski lodge, Kills some other bandits in a cave, And finally actually gets to Riften.
When you look into how shouts work, dragon Shouts are basically just vocal arguments that create magic because dragons are awesome and Akatosh is cool. So basically every time Jon shouts benor off a ledge or out of a doorway they're having a couple's argument and that's a tiny bit adorable.
Jon, Benor stopped scaling when you hit level 30. Vilkas might be a good replacement, though. He caps at level 50 and prefers two-handed weapons... I think it's about time to pay the companions a visit :)
Hello this is Many a True Nord and welcome to Skyrim, today well... I don't know. My companion is getting a little rusty. She's good with a mace and has magical powers, sure, but to be honest... they get in the way too much and then slow me down. So, the first thing for today's adventure is to put her back where I found her in Morthal, then we'll go hunt some dragons.
You need to download a mod that stops her using shouts on you. You'd think they'd have patched that for the special edition, but sadly not. Also, her pathfinding is awful. She keeps wandering from cave to cave. "Part of me would actually like to see a story of some kind written from Benor's perspective" Check out Jon's reddit page. Someone has a Benor's Diary going. Ten entries so far. It's good fun.
I love how he walks onto private property in the dead of night and when he just straight walks up to the door and is confused on why the guards start attacking him. You are literally a bandit at this point.
I think Jon should use Frosty more often as Benor is not really a tank, with his big two-handed axe, he's more of a damage dealer, and Stormy isn't that tanky. Also Frosty looks so happy when he runs in! If he could talk I'd imagine him yelling "Me help little friends!" as he runs in. :)
You don't need to take any more levels of Sneak, Jon. In Skyrim, there are three ways an NPC can detect your presence - sound, sight and touch. Muffle and Quiet Casting take care of the sound part, an Invisibility spell or potion will take care of the sight part, and not walking into people will take care of touch. Basically, once you have an Invisibility spell (which you should be able to buy right now at the College of Winterhold), your level and ability in Sneak will be utterly irrelevant.
You're technically correct in that the increased light level in the area around him increases his chance of being detected because it is light, but other than the affect on the light level the spell Candlelight doesn't actually have a dedicated penalty to sneak whereas the Pip Boy light being on does in fact give an unlisted Sneak penalty in addition to being easier to detect from the light.
@@thedarkness125 Comment on a comment from over a year ago and I'm not sure what you're saying? Are you trying to correct me, because your statement is the same as the first half of my comment.

Jon: Benor, don't leave me, Benor, seriously, I need your help here, you're actually useful on this occasion everybody else: isn't Benor the one who gets like 75% of the kills?
Might want to take another look at alteration, as you are on the crest of being able to add a new skill set to your repertoire. Mage armor could be useful when you're, say, running from a bandit chief targeting you instead of Benor...or surrounded by wild bears...
Jon - Light levels effect your stealth effectiveness in Skyrim (much easier to sneak in the shadows then in direct light). The spell that conjures a floating light pretty much surrounds you in light... So perhaps you should consider not useing it when you are trying to sneak? :D And just to spell it out for you, yes, the big floating ball of light makes it MUCH harder for you to sneak.
I'm sorry, Jon, but the situation with Benor won't get better unless you get a mod so he has no level cap. Or you could get a stronger companion, marry benor, adopt some kid and leave him as a stay-at-home dad while you and the new guy/gal go adventuring, I guess.
Well, that's just the perfect excuse for Jon to go to Solstheim, isn't it? ^^ actually, it's probably too early, maybe he should get a houscarl meanwhile (levelcap at 50)
You should definitely get a house in riften. Honeymede is literally the best house in the game (at least in my opinion), and you could easily walk over to the orphanage and get some kids so you can get the mothers love buff, which would be great for your build (25% extra healing from spells and potions).
This great journey to Riften that took weeks is confusing to me because Jon had already been to Riften to speak with Vex for Ranmir in Winterhold's Inn about Isabella.
MATN playthroughs in a nutshell. The only thing you can consistently count on from Jon is how much he contradicts himself and doubles back on things he's already done thereby extending the playthrough out of sheer force of negative perception.
So this time you drag Benor along for an extended session of animal cruelty that you call a picnic, violently invading someone's summer home because you heard they had beer and assaulting some homeless people living in a cave because you decided they were bandits. When you met Benor he was really worried about some horrible necromancer in his family crypt. I don't think inviting Jon into the crypt was the SOLUTION to "there's a horrible necromancer in there". Not the best judge of character, our Benor.

Jon, about the gems: While quest items have weight that weight isen't added as long as the item is tagged as a quest item. So they in reality have zero weight. (Off course thats in the unmodded game, i don't keep tabs on the changes in the unoffical patch, but it sometimes changes the weirdest things).

Fort Greenwall becomes a Stormcloak fort when you start the civil war quest, it makes sense as it's the main supply route between Windhelm and Riften, two Stormcloak towns. But it's generic bandits until you start the quest I guess.
Minsc And Boo Nope, unless one would use console commands. But you can only raise the level to a set number. Jon simply has to switch to another follower with a higher cap.
In other words, Jon's gonna need to start solving his own problems, and pick a lane; rather than being a Summoner/White mage/Illusion specialist/Sneaky beaky (thief)
You actually can use console commands to modify an NPC's level cap without altering their current level. To use it, target the NPC, then enter "setlevel 1000 0 1 81." This sets them to level up with the player all the way to 81, the vanilla level cap. J'zargo and a few others already level up that way. Farkas and Aela will automatically match level with the player when they turn into werewolves during their scripted events, including going over their original level cap if you wait to do those missions.
"One day me and you, we should settle down" - Why do I get the feeling that saying that is the equivalent of being one day away from retirement or showing pictures of your kids in an action movie?
I actually like the ebony war axe. Of all of the one handed weapons it and the steel war axe look the most realistic. The ebony mace just looks cartoony to me.
Jon, you really need to invest in some Flesh spells. They're in the Alteration school and are called things like Stoneflesh etc. They're a squishy mage's best friend, seriously.
There's a nice shortcut from the back of Helgen through the mountain, pass by Haemar's Shame for a Daedric artifact, come out a little south of Ivarstead. It's far easier to deal with ice trolls than making the giant westward loop up to Riften if you really want to start the Thieves Guild questline ASAP.
The Blackbriars are a powerful family in Riften and the lodge you stumbled on has to do with getting the deed to Frost (a white horse) I think it's part of the thieves guild quests or maybe just a side quest. Maven Blackbriar's son is in jail in Riften and is involved somehow. I also think the cave with all the bears is populated with giants as part of becoming the champion of Morketh the orc god.
Jon you need to remember to sheathe your weapon if you start a fight you dont want or cant win (and generally you should sheathe your hands so you wont keep bein startled by them, also increases your perception lol). Also if you need to tell Benor to go somewhere you should use the command option instead.
You do know Jon that you could just enchant a weapon with either soul trap or even fiery soul trap instead of using the bound sword. The fiery soul trap enchantment can be disenchanted from the Steel Battleaxe of Fiery Souls found in Ironbind Barrow
Jon............Jon.................You looked directly at some LEEKS and didn't take them or even acknowledge them. I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed.
a 1-second paralyze enchantment can put enemies on the ground, and It takes more than 1-second for the target to stand back up again imp stool, mora tapinella & canis root makes a good poison the shield you get from kesh at peryite shrine can block dragon breath attacks & spells
Orcs in the realm of the elder scrolls are a breed of elf. Mer means elf, Orsimer is just a type of elf. Same with Dwemer, which roughly transelates into deep elf.
The reason Stormy doesn't summon sometimes is because Jon has the atronach stone buff on (or at least he did a few videos ago). Summons count as if they were being cast on the player, so the absorb effect of the stone can absorb the summon and it gets cancelled.
39:17 - If by "sweet" and "adorable" you mean horribly tragic and senseless in a way that makes you contemplate the nature of existence.... then yeah, sure... "sweet"
An interesting glitch that I found is that if you turn away from what you are trying to climb and jump while walking backwards, you can climb almost anything that isn't normally climbable
Jon, you attacked the Black-Briar Lodge on of the homes of the Black-Briars, not the Black-Briar Meadery that is in Riften. You approached the guards with weapons drawn and you wonder why they attacked you on sight, they are paid to keep anyone but a Black-Briar from approaching the place.
So at this point, Jon has completely forgot about the sanguine rose? I mean, it could've done some good work against that Marauder. Also, can I get a series death count after this episode?
The rumble could have been just rocks falling in the cave. Usually they're scenery ones so don't worry about a random avalanche from rocks unless its a trap.

Jon, Quest Items don't weigh anything in your inventory. That's why things like the Dragonstone's 25 weight don't usually create horror stories.
Assassins Blade is so much fun, especially if you have the Dark Brotherhood gloves. 30x damage for a high quality dagger can one-shot almost anything.

John, you trespassed on Maven Blackbriars' land. They were only doing their job.
Jon just murdered the don's men and robbed her house.
Jon you can get unique dialogue in the thieves guilds quest if you get caught stealing the necklace.
I love that if you listen really closely when Jon isn't saying anything you can hear his computer running
Fortunately it's not as loud as Dan's. His rig sounds like a jet engine.
The Blackbriars are a powerful family in Riften and the lodge you stumbled on has to do with getting the deed to Frost (a white horse) I think it's part of the thieves guild quests or maybe just a side quest. Maven Blackbriar's son is in jail in Riften and is involved somehow. I also think the cave with all the bears is populated with giants as part of becoming the champion of Morketh the orc god.
the ebony war axe is probably the most realistic axe in the game
Yes, put the spike in their eyeball holes
Jon you need to remember to sheathe your weapon if you start a fight you dont want or cant win (and generally you should sheathe your hands so you wont keep bein startled by them, also increases your perception lol). Also if you need to tell Benor to go somewhere you should use the command option instead.
You do know Jon that you could just enchant a weapon with either soul trap or even fiery soul trap instead of using the bound sword. The fiery soul trap enchantment can be disenchanted from the Steel Battleaxe of Fiery Souls found in Ironbind Barrow
When Jon decides to break in to Maven Black-Briar's house and says he isn't at fault.
Forget care bears, Jon's newest invention is "neutral to me bears"
I think the reason for the rumble pack ... well... rumbling is that cave is a quest cave that changes and contains many big things.
Jon............Jon.................You looked directly at some LEEKS and didn't take them or even acknowledge them. I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed.
I'm starting to think this series should be called "Skyrim: The Bear Is Still Around!"
I am enjoying your LP keep up the good work
"I need to increase my sneak skill. I've been detected alot."
By no means is candlelight is also a factor lol.
a 1-second paralyze enchantment can put enemies on the ground, and It takes more than 1-second for the target to stand back up again
imp stool, mora tapinella & canis root makes a good poison
the shield you get from kesh at peryite shrine can block dragon breath attacks & spells
"sweet"
Bear....the word still echoes in the deepest corners of my mind
when is the Jon-Benor wedding and are we all invited
*RAR.* -I'll be around for it whether he likes it or not.-
The Bear but what if he fear's you
*Rar?* -"Fear's" me? I... I have no idea what you're talking about...- *conspicuously glances away*
he can get married in Riften
An interesting glitch that I found is that if you turn away from what you are trying to climb and jump while walking backwards, you can climb almost anything that isn't normally climbable
That staff of paralysis would have been very useful for the Bandit Marauder of doom and decapitations.
the fact that you never uses the sanguine rose is infuriating Jon
BENOR! HE CHOPPED MY HEAD OFF!
Is it just me or has Benor contracted vampirism, can't help but think those eyes don't look right.
