I think it's a big ask to try and get someone to play KCD1 at this stage. KCD2 Looks very similar, just deeper and more user friendly. So why play 100 hours in an old janky game when a new fancy one does everything that old game does but better? Watching a story recap only takes 10 minutes. @@somerando1073
I was bad at KC:D1 combat too, but I figured out how to cheese well enough to complete the game. Move backwards kiting them, and just every now and then stop with a thrust. They run onto your sword then you start backing up again. I HIGHLY recommend going back and giving it another chance. Even aside from combat, they game has SO MUCH to offer. It is THE BEST game I have EVER played.
Me and some Colleagues of the IFZ in Munich worked behind the Scenes on the Historical Stuff and Facts in the Game, so i'd absolutely love Jon doing a Playthrough of this Prost & Cheers from the Snow-Covered Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps
As also a Morrowboomer who also loves KC:D, the combat is VERY different between the two. Diametrically opposite, really. Morrowind is nearly 100% character skill to attack well, while KC:D is nearly 100% player skill.
I think you'd enjoy this after a live stream or two, getting pointers from the community will get you on the right path, then you can decide if it's worth dedicating a series bc I'm sure it'd be a long one
I just bought the original Kingdom Come Deliverance last week. Haven't played it yet though. I don't why why I keep buying games I don't have time to play.
The first game had the best bug I ever had in a video game. It just happened only once, and I was never able to figure out what caused it, but early on after I loaded the game, i dunno why but it was like the clothing system failed to load so everybody was just buck nude. It even happened during the cutscenes. It was still early in the game, at the one castle you fled to after the prologue and it was the scene where the Hungarian army (forgive the lack of names, I forgot its been years) shows up outside the walls and the castle lord and his troops are on the wall talking to them.... but everybody on our side was buck nude. It was just so unexpected and to then have it jump into a high tension cutscene with both armies squaring off but our side was just a bunch of naked hairy old men standing around on the walls was just too much, I was laughing so hard for like an hour.
The combat got me at first too. Took a while to really understand it. You just have to think of real life and not like basically every other RPG ever. You wouldn’t go wildly swinging at someone trying to kill them who is also trying to kill you. In real life, with an actual sword, you might take 1-2 hits before you’re bleeding out and/or dead. Play it safe, watch their strikes and counter with one hit. Or cheese and back up slowly and thrust when they approach/rush towards you,
I'll be honest, when she mentioned her husband had gone missing in the forest... I honestly thought she was referring to the horse rider whom Jon had watched get killed before taking his horse. Game looks promising. I too would not mind a series on this game.
I would happily watch more of this. The tactile alchemy stood out, and I desperately want to know where Mutt is. Shame that so far they've really strung you along as far as where the dog is hiding.
Have to say I felt the same about the combat in the first game. I've been instructed since that it actually get easier to play as you progress in level. Kind of a cool system if that's true of these games.
Jon, if you ever try KCD1 again, make sure you do the training with the Captain at Rattay. Without that, there are core parts of the combat system that are locked off making things much harder.
Combat is supposed to be similar but easier to grasp. The original game it took awhile to get into the swing of things for me and I never did quite finish it. I am hopeful this game is even better and based upon the early reviews it seems to be almost universally praised which is a good sign.

I really wanted to love the first game. I just couldn't get through the first proper fighting mission where you had to deal with bandits or whatever at a mine in the hills (if I remember correctly, it's been a while) no matter what I tried 😂😢
John John Johm, pls play the first on hardcore difficult and make series on it , i know the combat is clunky but hold on with it you'll get use to it ,try using game pad for melee combat only it make things simpler.

Fun Fact: Lead Dev is in bed with neo nazis because he got upset when people corrected his understanding of diversity in the region, as it was depicted slightly inaccurately in the first game.
Thankfully the culture war fanatics have turned on him and the game because there is an OPTIONAL gay path and a high born arab (I think) trader (I think) in the metropolis.
Day 314 of requesting Age of Mythology. This video is a true Bohemian Rhapsody of canine ownership and sausage. Sausage is delicious, by the way, which is why nearly every culture eventually adds it to their menu as soon as they know it's an option. Also, I love how British all the Bohemians sound.
I honestly hate when people in videogames speak English with a strong foreign accent (Assassin's Creed does this all the time). It doesn't help my immersion at all.
what i like is consistancy, in the death of stalin all of the "political" russians have british or american accents, otherwise the soldiary and other people have russian accents
The Gold Edition is $80 USD, the regular edition is $60. I might play the first game and see if I like it, but I probably won't, I think I panic more than Jon does.
I do hope Jon makes this a series.
I was really sad he never made a series about the first one, but hopefully he does for the sequel.
Looks like it would be entertaining
Definitely Series material!
I would prefer he go give the first one another try, so he can fully appreciate what's going on in 2 and do 2 a bit later down the road.

Jon: "Lets get down to business"
My stupid brain: "TO DEFEAT, THE HUNS!"
I mean, given the game is ultimately about beating the Hungarians, that's pretty close.

KCD 2: My dog feels quite hungry.
I was 100% expecting the huntman to be the dude Jon killed for the bow
I get the point, Jon is going to embark on a new career as a haberdasher and then he can sell fabulous hats and avoid getting eaten by wolves.
PLEASE make this a series Jon! ❤
Jon thank you for not spoiling the story. I’m looking forward to playing it and thoroughly enjoyed this video
Same. I would like it if he gave the first one another go.
So amazing that Jon decided to play the game :) I am determined to buy it but the decision will be much easier after watching an unbiased review :)
I honestly don't think it gets any more unbiased than Jon, he's oftentimes my benchmark as well.
the amount of love put into this game is obvious. this is a studio that deserves to be supported.
I really thought the huntsman thats gone missing towards the end was going to be the one that Jon...liberated...the bow from earlier 😂
"I didn't have my sword out, that's not fair" after Jon sneak attacks a man for his Bow and clothes the irony 😊

This game looks fantastic, I can see I'm going to sink way too many hours into this.
It's funny how Jon didn't click with the combat but he's doing a long ass LP of Morrowind.
And I'm speaking as a Morrowboomer who loves Morrowind!
As also a Morrowboomer who also loves KC:D, the combat is VERY different between the two. Diametrically opposite, really. Morrowind is nearly 100% character skill to attack well, while KC:D is nearly 100% player skill.
I didn't know you even played the first one, Jon. Time to dive into the archives (after this)
it was a one off episode.

Well, supporting a studio who makes good games is not the worst way you can spend your money.
Mutt becomes the final boss and leads an army of wolves.

If Jon makes this a series, he might go down the path of evil Henry and might doom 1403 Bohemia all by himself. And Jon would enjoy it.
Please bring this back! I love the ambience and detail
I second this! It's so gorgeous, I'd love to just bask in the world for a little longer!
I cannot believe you got your hands on this early Jon - the jeleousy we all feel right now

Definitely make it a series!
It'd be funny if it turned out that really was his dog, and you get him back by calmly approaching the pack, rather than attacking them.
Imagine - a game that teaches Jon consequences for just brandishing weapons around town! 😂
Yes, Jon, I’d love to see this as a series. The first one was amazing to me, glad to see more of this one once it becomes available.
I would love to see this as a series
Jon, a series? A series Jon?
I remember when Jon had standards and only committed crimes for fancy hats.
"Release the sausages." Kier Starmer
I´m totally open for more Henry shinanigans. Please bring it back!
I can only conclude that they make crows meaner and craftier in Bohemia, going by the contents of the nest.
There's a cave behind the bushes that has some special dice in it that you can grab before starting the game with the guy
ty bro, first thing I'll be doing when it releases
im impressed jon got a hang of the combat, my style was to use a mace and shield and bonk everyone
They really should call this game

Henry looks more and more like Arnold the Terminator

It's the Lord of the Rings technique.
