All of you saying this in BMT, it's not, read the title... "Air Force Academy" smartest dudes and dudettes around. They aren't there to be killers, but to be leaders of the best damn military around.
Yeah, not a lot of folks on here can connect those dots. They don't realize that this is a 4-year academic institution.
Matthew - totally true.
Guys talking smack of course they have dorms since its also a college where a cadet takes a four year college course
There is a difference between intimidation and annoyance.
airforce is still my dream even how hard is it
Dude the usaf is not hard its like school if u want to see hard go watch USMC BOOT CAMP day 1 message back when seen message
haha, i'm the only kid in home , i don't wanna join Marine
@Christopher Smith omg I commented that 6 years ago, and I joined Army, now i am already ETSd , the flashbacks... hahaha
@@jixingbian4911 an update
@@jixingbian4911Good job! How are you now? It's good?
This isn't Air Force basic. These are school kids being prepped to become future officers, with different arrangements being made. Most enlisted personnel go through Lackland AFB in Texas and are thrown in a room with 40-60 other guys.
thank each and every one of you brave men and women for joining the military thank you from the bottom of my heart ,im a airforce vet
I plan on joining after high school, can't wait!
Good luck to you. Be safe.
+Josh Eckman Applying in two years
+Oumar Traore Same here. See you there!
Josh Eckman See you there. We are so going to make a great officer
+Josh Eckman
hey bro do they give scholarships to get there
It's not fun but VERY real and the lessons you learn there is something that will follow you the rest of your life . 73
This is a 5th-grade field trip compared to the Marine Corps boot camp.
+audacityknight This is the Air Force Academy, not supposed to be Marine Corps training.
That's what I'm saying Devil! I'm crying at this video!
LOL!
Who cares? for all you know maybe a drone will save your life if you're enlisted. #sameteam #usa
+Rylee Hunsaker I don't think he was saying (possible tho) tht they are less important. I think he was jus saying Marine training is worse
4 years of this I couldn’t imagine it definitely breaks a ton of people down mentally
Getting accepted into this place is tough as a nail.
Nobody's ever truly "prepared". Its going to be tough regardless of how ready you think you are.
I'm a falcon scholar the 2013 year. Feeling so blessed to be joining the c/o 2018. This video makes me all the more motivated.
Read the title, folks. This is the Academy, not enlisted BMT. These folks aren't learning everything over a few weeks, they have four years to become great.
I thank you for your service sir, yes, it is easy in a way, but it depends on what they are training for.
This is too bananas, I’d quit minute 1.
No other service/branch in the world can compare to this!!! This is the most elite force in the world.
All of them said "Do solemnly swear or affirm"
Airmen you're supposed to be the smart ones..
I thank you for your service. I agree to make this more difficult.
With all due respect sir, just remember who was flying in with the A-10s when you and your comrades needed it most...
I'm not here to talk shit or anything or to say my basic was harder or easier, but i remember my first day of army basic, and we did nothing like this, but we did get really proficient at the push up.
My mom used to wake up louder than that!!!
That's pretty cool they get those small rooms to them selves. I also think it's an officer training camp as well. No enlisted.
Thank you for your comment but most of those flying during Vietnam were trained by the Navy though I new most B52 Pilots were Air Force officers who had my Highest respect but they all were hero's in my book.
Can,t wait to go to air force acedemy and be air force pilot
That AFB is in Colorado Springs! That's how and where Officers are trained.
hmmm... this seems much tougher than what i expected. i had no ideea that they even teach you "military" table manners.
+Spicy Projects The Acadamy expects every cadet to be intelligent, have good manners, and respect
For anyone who has been accepted to the Air Force Academy, can you give me some tips on what is required so that I can have a high chance of being accepted because I am very interested in applying for this Academy.
I thought that Air Force was laid back... 😂😂😂
It's basic training. Other branches have one big room with every recruit on bunk beds spaced 2 feet apart until he/she graduates. (that's what danny meant)
Wow... why did i bother going to Parris Island? I am amazed at how relaxed this looks.
Stephen 1982 yeah they have it nice
Thats a very in-depth eating technique/drill :O
Looking forward to this.
+Robert Shaw Same
this...is...adorable.
I think that is be laughing when they yell at me then I'd cry myself to sleep oh well I can't un- enlist lmfao
I'm prior enlisted now in the ROTC. I went to Lackland Air Force Base for DLI and to stayed in the 4th floor of the Army private barracks. Since we are junior officers we had more freedom than privates so we can walk around the base and do stuff privates can't do, some of my buddies and I had the curiosity of how basic training for the Air Force is so we passed by their barracks and wow, those aren't barracks, those looked like departments, with elevators, their own DEFAC they trained really late (army standarts) and have a lot of freedom too. To be honest, I would love to have a basic trainig like them they are really chilled there.
Josh Martz I guess it's because the planes do all the stuff on the airforce, not the soldiers.
+Josh Martz We didn't get to use the elevators. Those are for the MTIs; not the trainees. You train in the morning in the Summer; later in the Winter. Did you see the flags? It is San Antone, they have to be careful with a lot of stuff, the Air Force has had many trainees die from not paying attention to the weather with PT. Every squadron has a DEFAC, not one DEFAC for the whole base. The AF has only one training base for all of the Airmen-to-be. And as for freedom? Later in BMT you get base lib but not starting off. We have to earn everything that is given to us. I will say this though, it is chiller than the others but tough none-the-less.
+Lancelvts .Maximvs Right, that's what every Airman does: jack shit right? Every job in the Air Force is meaningless and only the jets do anything worthwhile, right?
D'Jamena this is the U.S. Air Force Academy not BMT. This is the University of the Air Force where people will get college degrees and a commission upon graduation. Notice the name tag has the year of graduation on it. Also, the barets and collar chevrons I believe are seniors.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the AFA not boot camp?
Wow, I almost fell asleep. Go watch some Marine first day of Basic Training to get some motivation.
Semper Fi...
No
they stand around guarding shit they don't need motivation...
I figured the marines were worse. Thinking about joining them.
Taylor Clay Well, you don't really join the Air Force Academy. It's a school.
This is a service academy, not regular basic training. Marine Corps officers go through the Naval Academy. You should take a look at their first day....very similar to this video.
I can't wait to go and then after 4 years hopefully get a pilot slot!!!!
R u a pilot now
2003 remember it like it was yesterday
First scene with the yelling in the hallways is barely just like any other field day inspection in the marine corps...just...lol
Can't wait
I'm in Army JROTC. Joined the Raider team to prep myself for the Air Force. Starting to think Raider team is overkill.
im in colorgaurd JROTC for Airforce in my school. and yes you're right lol. But I love the colorgaurd and the Airforce JROTC program and can't wait to attend AFA when I graduate!
honestly, i'd prefer this BMT... Maybe it's gotten easier since i've been through... I mean sure they're getting picked on a little more, "your going to sit on the front 1/3 of your chair", but after they make past the first part, it gets way easier.
I cant wait!!!
Cool caps mates.
Its like CAWG Encampment just a little longer
Sir This Is Just an Academy then they have to go to the BMT...Yes i have noticed what you said about the trining and i think they have to change it cuz its true combat it's a different thing. Cadet Corales Here Sir.
I would love nothing more in terms of my academics than to actually be a cadet in the AF Academy... Too bad I didn't have the grades for it.
I suppose I can work my ass off and attempt to get a bootstrap program into an ROTC college.
Airforce is much easier than the army. In the airforce they treat you like a human being if you will.
I joined the air force back in '09, went enlisted and wow this seems super laxed compared to bmt. Practically no yelling or hardcore ti's around, which is what they need.
They use to have TI's, Then becoming a TI got a lot harder and more selective which made TI's a low resource, using more veteran cadets which learn from the TI's is more efficient.
Heh sorry for any disrespect but the make 2009 seem like ages ago
That was when we had buck sergeants and senior airmen got out as a sergeant
I'm probably going to get ripped to shit for asking this, but what is the job name of the people that have blue berets?
Im a drum.major at my school. I understand all the marching commands ^.^
The Air Force Academy is entirely different than basic training for the enlisted side of the house.
Lol my couzin just came back from Air Force BOOTCAMP and he said it was a joke 😂 and yes the pjs do come save the marines but that's all they have that's bad ass xD
I am interested in it.
How do they have uniforms with nametapes on day 1?
+cryangallegos Given, not earned.
this is so easy!
I personally got the chance to work with the USAF and they were very good at doing their job... However, why does this video seem so cute? Its like watching little puppies playing in a play pen.
3:25 Tom Hanks
the ones with special combat positions do have tougher training just so you know. We don't all go on the front lines, the Air Force uses their men and women as backup for you guys. I respect the marines more than any other branch though just so you know. Good day to you.

Biggest "Holy shit" feeling ever. Stupid belts were always slowest part
I can join to USAFAcademy and live in US Air Force Base at once ?
I live in Europe-Slovakia.
I just from a marine boot camp video and this is like the marines vacation training
+J.Fragoso Its the Air Force Academy. Its not training where you can just train then graduate after months. This is the academy where they have to stay there for a few years and learn leadership, get stronger, get an education and transform into an officer
My Mom was a Marine
J.Fragoso these are the future officers of the usaf, not enlisted bootcamp, this is a 4 year institute
Parade rest? I think you meant hest
I think you clicked on the wrong video buddy. This is Air Force Academy basic training, not Buddhist Academy basic training.
This is where I need to be
THIS is why I didn't go to any of the "kiddie schools". I went to an adult school to get my Engineering Degrees & Commission.
2:12, parade hest?
Nice hats!!
I would hate being woken up like I’d scream myself
I want to join from Philippines
I would have loved for a girl to wake me up in Basic
speechless
John Walsh Its the Air Force Academy . And female instructors in 'basic' aren't girls perse .
this looks more like a frat band camp
ohh man, this is intense.
Why does the academy training seem more laid back than regular BMT?
Wish I had my own room when I was in Marine Corps bootcamp....
How dare you insult The Long Blue Line! How about walking up to a USAFA grad and saying such things and insult it again, especially as an enlisted man.
Was fun, good idea
are you even in the military?
It's the Academy, not the enlisted BMT.
this is what i went through at rtfl 5
After the first year, it gets a lot easier
Dude this is the Air Force Academy, ONE venue used to become an officer. This is just for them to get their commission and 4 year education. If these people get a job that has anything to do with combat, they will have extensive training for those careers after they earn their commission.
It's like pilots. They get a commission then go to flight school. Officers in other combat roles are the same - they get their combat-specific traininga fter their commission. So don't worry.
i guess you didn't notice that whole day one thing in the title of the video. I'm concerned with the training of the marines if they aren't vigilant enough to notice the largest words on a screen
LMAO!!!! Soooooo hard. Face your dinner plate! omg
H O L Y SHIT! That was hillarious
Well first off this is an officer's academy.
All of these cadets will still have to go through Basic Military Training as far as I understand.
Secondly, as the title of the video says, this is only day 1.
I'm sure it gets a bit tougher.
I leave for basic training Monday lol wish me luck
you don't need luck it's the air force
+Raymond Coronado. savage
WTF, are those dorm rooms??
It's a college still.
Wow....must be nice
you have to understand that the airforce doesn't do on the ground military operations that often...they have to know how to kill from the sky so its different
don't ever say stuff like that cuz these same people will watching your back in combat and u will be grateful that they joined the airforce
If you were in the military, you wouldn't be dissing other branches. Our branches need each other to survive.
and they actually get to finish a meal
I tried to sign up for this. He said I was declined due to DUI. Guess I'll sit at home on youtube because I was 21 and drove intoxicated once.
i mean most ppl dont even wanna do this
+Senseblend You can possibly get a waiver,so don't give up
Though its cool that this is in Hampton Roads
Is that a part of Colorado Springs?
+Bryon Letterman no it's in Virginia, I guess they all look similar
Nik P it's in Colorado springs
it was supposed to be sure. i don't know what i was thinking when i put shore. XD
So many people comment on these videos of training talking about how they'd never take shit from the instructors. Go sign those forms and prove it, see how that works out for you.
what the hell? I'll never join something like this.
