I finally found this game after all these years. My dad had a big box copy of this and I was always afraid to play it back in 99, but the only thing I could remember about it was that one of the discs had a taxi cab on the front. Found it by trolling through the multi disc game list on TvTropes. Holy hell this brings back memories
This really is an awesome FMV adventure - it's straight futuristic cyberpunk a la Johnny Mnemonic and Blade Runner, and it does it exceeding well. If you like Cryo's games, this will be right up your alley. A healthy dose of expensive CG and hammy acting make it the equivalent of a late 80s Cannon film on the 90s PC - I highly recommend it!
I actually bought a sealed copy of this a few years ago on ebay and played through it since I always wanted to in the 90s. I have to say though, it is clear that the makers either ran out of time or money halfway through. It comes with this very cool manual complete with a great back story BUT it all amounts to nothing. And it starts out decently enough but you quickly realize that it only has a couple locations to visit and they are almost "devoid" of people. There was so much potential here and they clearly just ran out or gas, time or money. But anyway thanks for the video. I'm a big fan of your channel.
Yeah I thought the exact same thing. It could have been a lot better if it didn't feel as weirdly abridged as is does. At least it ends before it gets boring though! And thanks, I appreciate it!
Now THIS is the original Cyberpunk 2077 except it's better written. I absolutely love this gritty and dirty look at the future. It's a bit harder than this play through makes it look. I tried it myself and I failed at parts I shouldn't have failed at including the beginning in the hospital and getting ripped apart by the cyberdogs.
There are still some new FMV games coming out, one was released on Steam not long ago if I recall, the real issue is their production costs were always a double-whammy, because you were paying for actors and locations and costumes as well as the programming and digital art. The "best" ones definitely use bottle sets (everything FMV happens in an office or other indoor location with limited to no camera moves)-- like Spycraft, for example, or the intro scenes to missions from the Red Alert series. The other problem is so many truly AWFUL games came out that it poisoned the genre in the eyes of many gamers.
anyone played this recently using the work around file from the sound update? its supposed to help with the loading disc 2 bug but its just making the insert disc animation play over and over and not actually loading

+NintendoComplete This reminds me of the space rpg you played a couple of months ago, with the cool robots, and the nice cg graphics :D

The classic FMV game Night Trap is actually getting a re-release on PS4 and Xbox later this year. Should be fun

This was the first game that my PC was not good enough for. Could never get it to run.
from 1990-2000 there seemed to be a lot of adventure games like Myst where you solved puzzles. I played some of them in my childhood days.
cyberpunk new gameplay looks good
My buddy Dave once made an Angel Devoid joke 5 years after the fact, and I laughed.
