Thanx-i'm 85y.o.& tho i was born after the "flapper era",thanks to my beloved mom who was an immigrant flapper from Vienna,I love the music from that era!
1927 was the peak year for twenties dance bands, as this hit song from the "British Whiteman" band: Jack Hylton, shows. I got stranded at the begining bars by a brief crazy trombone statement! The solo trumpet backed by the humming trio large notes is beautiful. A superb arrangement after the vocal and trumpet solo too! It was Philippe Brunn, I suppose. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Rich instrumentation as well, the viola (!?) solo sounds great and the violins and clarinets at the bridge sound glorious in full Whiteman style. I can't stop listening it! And how do they swing! Thank you! The great pictures you uploaded are again postponed. The music is superb in any way. I can compare this one to the "Phantom blues" by Joe Candullo. As always you got a great sound out of your His Master's Voice 78. After this was written I read your comments and I see we are in total agree about this fantastic rendition.
Fantastic music and wonderful array of photos displaying a mix of English elegance and whims. The ladies on the motorcycles at 1:25 certainly exhibit their nonconformity.
Hmm elegancja Francja i szyk w calej krasie na Twoich fotkach więc je podziwiam ,zwlaszcza tw szerokie portki:)Muzycznie dla mnie nie bardzo ..To chyba na bandżi ale nie moje dżwieki...
I wish that time back. So much 🙏

I'm not from that era-- I was born long after it was over-- but I enjoy the music very much! It was cheerful and most of all, FUN!!!

I've loved this for 60 years. I think it's the best British side from the 1920s.
