Lyman's band sounded very different from the other bands which is why I liked a lot of his records. They didn't call it the Roaring 20s for nothing. This was party music back in that day.
The more and more I listen to this song and this era the more I hear it echoing in the 7os… Must be the up-tempo and heavy use of strings... there was a 2os/3os revival in the early/mid 7os.
Yes there was. It seems that past eras from the '20s to the '50s were rediscovered in the early 1970s. Films like "Paper Moon" & later "American Graffitti" helped that happen.
