my father died in 99. i am 63 yo but still cry when i hear this song. It never leaves you and you never get over it but you go on. I took care of my dad for 20 years and watched him go down hill the last 3. I was with him when he died. it did not hit me until months later that he was gone. I knew it but it had not sunk in. would give all i have to spend 1 more day with him.
Oh SHIT!!!!! You listening to music frOM MY NECK OF THE WOODS!!! My dad was a VET and committed suicide when I was 15. I’ve always cried when I heard this song!!! I’m a gardener because of HIM!!!!! BEST MAN I EVER KNEW!! Love y’all Mr. J and family 😢😢 ~Pentaholic from Louisiana
😭😭😭 it’s been almost 30 years since he passed and I think of him EVERYDAY!!! I was a daddy’s girl. I guess that’s why I’m still single? I can’t find a man that can fill his shoes. Daddy issues??? I don’t know 🤷🏼♀️ But I miss him more than anything in this world!!!
I’m 56- lost my dad in ‘09. Every time I hear this song I bawl. Great job reacting to this classic. Another phenomenal tune of this nature is “Living years” by Mike and the Mechanics
You made me cry. Feel the love you have for your parents ❤️ I too have lost both my parents but I am 67 yo and they both lived long lives. But no matter what it is hard. So sorry for your tragic loss.❤
70 year old country gal here. My condolences to anybody that's lost a father or their parent. Like I said I'm 70 years old and I lost my daddy when I was eight years old. Even to this day there are times when~~~ I see kids in the winter having snowball fights with their dad , every time when I go fishing I think of my dad we went fishing all the time. My daddy had me on the back of a horse in front of him before I could even walk and taught me how to ride a horse before I was 2 years old by myself. Every time the old fashioned ice cream truck came around he'd buy me ice cream and if there was any kids there that didn't have the money for some reason or other because of their parents couldn't afford it. I can remember my daddy buying the other kids that couldn't afford it some ice cream because they deserved it being kids. Like I said I'm 70 and hearing this is making me ball like a baby. I know there's a lot of people that didn't have a daddy and I hope that you at least had some father figure to look up to and help you out. 💔💔💔😢😢😢🙏🙏 This ain't a everyday pain but I know it won't go away till the Lord calls me up to heaven to see him. God Bless all of y'all that has lost a parent. Sending much love to ya'll ~ stay safe and take care of yourself and the ones you love.
I know what you mean to exist without our parents. I live to carry on my parents memories and teachings. I hope to pass them to my kids. Great honest reaction . Thank you
I lost dad when I was 15. Mom took it hard and it took years to pull her out of her prescription pain killer addiction. She died last year to adult blood cancer. My prayers go out to everyone that lost parents. It's rough and I'm thinking about you.
You nailed it pal. Like you, I didn't realize how poor we were until I got older. Sorry for your losses. Yeah..it stings. It doesn't let up. (For me) Great work.....!!!
I'm quite a bit older than you, and my Mom and Dad have gone on to another place years ago. I am mostly at peace with that (although it is tough at times). I remember this song from when I was a kid. Ironically, I actually met Mr. Twitty before he was super-super famous, because he was also in the mobile home industry that my Dad worked in. I don't have an opinion of him personally now, other than that I think he has some classics (that I didn't recognize until much later in life). I remember that he offered me dum-dum suckers (unfortunately the only ones left were lemon) when we visited the sales lot. I just went down to the crawdad hole behind his lot in the DFW area while he and Dad discussed mobile-home "business". I wish I had known how famous he would become because I would have asked him to sign one of those dum-dums. Peace, Love!
Thank you for your service and sacrifice, sir. My dad is a Vietnam veteran. He's alive and well. This reminds of him. I grew up with old country and mariachi.
Im so sorry for your loss. I lost my dad on Valentine's Day 2019, He had Leukemia and was my hero. I love this song and always think of him when I hear it.
If you want to experience a love unmatched by even that of your parents, just wait till you find out how much God loves you, its a kind of love that makes everything else completely trivial, even death. Whats best is when you can share the love of God with your family. God builds families, and He already demonstrated His willingness to die for us. Thats the beauty of Christs sacrifice for us.
Idk you but stay strong Bruhh! I’m not saying it gets easier, you just become more numb unfortunately.. Also something that will help, every time there’s a bday for your dad or a fathers type of holiday, do something those days that you would have done with your dad or something that’d make him proud.. that seems to help a lot instead of trying to forget those type of days 🖤🖤
Howdy.... I am 44 and my dad died on Christmas day when I was a freshman in high school... I am sorry you are still so sad.... I hope you have someone to talk to.
Sorry for your loss losing your family is never easy stay strong and make them proud you will see them again in a much better place
