So all I have to do is to be able to sing 5 times louder than I do, develop a really controlled vibrato, learn to belt with the vibrato and learn and be confident enough to put loads of character in for June on top of 5 A Levels, grade 5 theory and grade 6 singing to be the best Gertrude ever.... This girl is the best gertrude I have seen she inspired me to go for gertrude in my school play and I hope I am as good as her. She seems very passionate about theater like me and just seeing her on youtube was the BEST!

Ben Reynolds sorry if I am late.... just have fun with it! Find all the ways you can relate with Gertrude and put yourself kind of into the character. Also, use a higher pitched character voice to make her sound more childish. Sing your heart out! Hope the shown went well! :)

My school is doing this and I auditioned for Gertrude (we had to sing from 0:49 to 1:54 ) and they gave me the Sour Kangaroo... I love the part but it seems like they always put you in whatever they think your personality is. At my theater they always either give me the blonde or the crazy one. They seem to think I can only to broad characters which is a bit annoying, but whatever.
