I understand your frustration with repeated items, but still there are a lot of new subscribers who didn't get the chance to receive items in prior boxes. I remember how sad I felt when I finally got my Illumicrate sub and they've announced no more Rossiethorns88 mugs, which I looked forward to the most :< The same goes for the photo album - I haven't received the first one from Illumi, which was georgous, so I'm glad to have this one :) For me, I don't mind getting more of the same, if the quality is there. I'd rather have a million mugs, which I can swap and sell the rest for a good price, than some foresaken food bag clips or other unique trash items ^^
The waitlist is honestly also so short, if you got some items once and don't want more you can just switch to book only.
Babel was really good. That ending. I also enjoyed Yellowface. I just got The Poppy War on audio, and I think it'll be good based on Kuang's other writings. I was slightly upset that June for both Owl Crate and Illimictate was the same book and thay I didnt know in time to skip a month.
I don't have Fairyloot, but those extras. Love the embroidery kit (I really enjoyed the Heartless Hunter) and the glass thermos.

I agree I wouldn't reverse Honey Witch's dust jacket, but credit to FL for putting the name of the book on the spine so it is actually usable!
OC and their mugs! I feel like all the book boxes are kind of in a rut with their items. So many repeats and honestly, there don't have to be! There are so many ideas out there that haven't been used much if at all. I did switch from items to book only a few months ago and have not regretted it at all. But I appreciate you opening them so I see what they had!
Are you thinking of getting any of Owlcrate's new quarterly subs? I'm hoping with an official romantasy box, their other subs will not have as much romance in them as they have been recently.

I thought for sure I'd like owlcrate version more (simply because I knew illumicrate was just gonna do a color swap), but I was wrong. I really love the colors illumicrate did for the color swap and the edges are beautiful. Owlcrate is nice, I like that they gave it an entirely new cover, but it feels more middle grade than anything.
OMG I’m in the same boat as you for the romantasy. I also skipped one. Also wish I skipped this months. I do sorta want next months. But over all. I’m very much not into this sub. But also I don’t know wanna feel the fomo cuz fairyloot does knock out some stunning editions.
And 100% with you I don’t want a hardcover edition of KU!
With the Owl Crate "Of Jade and Dragons" they were going for Bronze rather than gold. So dark color and dark metallic.
Love the Crimson Moth Embroidery kit! Definitely want more of those from Owlcrate, since they are only one I am subscribed to.
I agree with the romantasy books being real long series, but Nectar of the Wicked is only a duology which is a nice break :)

I watched a video earlier today. The person was in the UK, and she was sat outside. It looked so nice, with the grass and green leaves, and I won't even go to the mailbox till the sun goes down. 😂

I had white the glue or something on the back of my owlcrate book too. I had about 5 to 7 splotches I took a long time to get off. Honestly I have not been happy with owl crates since I started my subscription. I haven't cancelled because of their unlimited skips but i am definitely considering it.
I was so confused what they were! Mine was like a chunk that dented into the book
one thing that bothers me of the Darkness Within Us fairyloot book is that the female protagonist seems to have been whitewashed on the end pages and the back of the hardcover. the reversible jacket, the tarot cards, the spoiler card, and the bookmark all show her to be a dark skinned woman of color with tighter curls in her hair, but the book illustrations itself show a fair skinned/white woman with looser, wavy hair. so someone wasn't on the same page, and i think it's whoever greenlit the whitewashed images.
That is incredibly frustrating and shouldn't happen. I'm curious if the artist really read the book or just got a description from Fairyloot. I had no idea what the characters were supposed to look like so that's disappointing. I'll definitely be looking into that more and I'll scrutinize it more when I read it

I don't have much thoughts about the first few books.
"Nectar of the Wicked" looks good; "Honey Witch" is gorgeous, but I'm not really interested in either of them.
I'm waiting for Owlcrate's "Of Jade and Dragons", and I really love how it looks, but it seems it wasn't send to me yet. I think the original cover has a little bit too much colours; I like the Illumicrate's recolour more than the original (+ I really love Illumicrate's hardcover).
None of my LL arrived yet either (because of customs). Maybe tomorrow. It seems like they're being send from one customs building to another.
The glass bottle is really nice.
I couldn't really get into the first book in "The Darkness Within Us" world. The main character was annoying at the very begining, and I just couldn't continue.
The book looks really pretty but, as @ezool18 pointed out, the character has much lighter skin on endpapers, than on any other art.
Edit: My LL June box has come. The box itself looks like customs played football with it. But the book is okay! A noticable dent on the hardcover, but it will be covered with the dustjacket.
Edit 2: And the May box also has arrived! This one was in better condition. Now I'm only waiting for Owlcrate.
Okay that makes me feel so much better that your LL FINALLY showed up. Hopefully all future ones are a lot quicker with less annoyances.

I stopped getting the items from illumicrate because it was getting to be the same items. Thank you for not reading the description I watch like 5-6 of these videos a month to support all the creators and I don't like skipping through stuff and giving everybody the watch time they need.
Honestly I'm planning on skipping owlcrate everytime they put out a mug, cause no.
Book boxes have become quite catered to one gender, glad I don't get them any more. Love the water bottle though. I can never have enough mugs either!
I don't think they do items, but broken binding seems more catered towards men Or neutral gender. I don't buy from them very often because the shipping to the US is expensive, but they do sciFi special editions and their fantasy is definitely more game of thrones than cruel prince.
Owlcrate? I see no Owls here? Didnt your parent take you to a zoo, alot...I MEAN A REAL LOT...just guessing of course. I expected to see owls...YD
