❣ Thanks Vienna for sharing! I've already seen some people from Germany commenting and like them I hope we have a chance to avoid a big step back in the upcoming elections over here.
These are in fact challenging times - and it is very supporting to hear that it is important to stay curious - cause there are so many also great things happening and there is community. I think we need to listen to the worries of the people and take time while at the same time still make sure we expect them to respect personally boundaries.
I think it needs a lot of talking and listening. I hope during the next fpur years you in the US will find people who are looking at things from other perspectives and at the same time are like we willing to broaden their view - get (back) into an exchange of thoughts. And I hope we manage to do so hear in our now starting resp. full ongoing election campaigns.
Thanks that we are having you and once more thanks, that you shared your thoughts. Big hug back
    🤗
PS: for those in Germany: I found Robert Habeck's candidate speech very re-assuring and inspiring. It is one hour though but I found it wothwhile: One of the key motivational sentences: "You got to swim/move or you will drown..." ua-cam.com/video/2ZBEaSH1UMI/v-deo.html

The most divisive thing about us is how divisive we are toward each other. The only things to fear and hate are fear and hate themselves, especially in a social media driven world where people look to a screen more than what's around them.

thank you for sharing your perspective. i had not heard of that interpretation of that top-versus-down ballot results before. it is very intriguing, and i can see some truth in it. it gives me lots to think about.

I have read and thought about many reasons why the election turned out the way it did. Not enough time for Harris' campaign, focus on the wrong topics, a votership that couldn't be bothered to educate itself about what the candidates truly stand for, a lack of interest in facts, voter fatigue and many more that I don't dare state from my observation post on the other side of the Atlantic. Your assessment fits right in, so thank you for your insight!
Of course, we have our own problems here in Germany as well, so the situation is not completely unfamiliar, although it got turned up to eleven in the US.
What we all can do is to stay true to our convictions and not despair and staying curious is definitely a good way to go about it. Luckily, I am a bit of an optimist anyway. My hope from over here in Europe is that we've got you as well. I know I do.

First of all, really surprised and pleased to see this randomly come across my YT feed... I'm one of those people still listening to Gravity lol... Secondly, there are many reasons bring discussed for the results of this election, but I think the bottom line is that Trump beat two women candidates, and lost to a white male opponent. I think the economy and immigration have been smokescreen excuses for people to vote for Trump. Unfortunately for many Americans, voting for a black woman for President was just a bridge too far... Hillary and Kamala have put some more cracks into that reinforced glass ceiling...

I saw a few people being interviewed and say why they wouldn't vote Kamala, and I remember two or so of them quite literally saying they don't want a woman because women allegedly are more emotional and that she might drop an atomic bomb because of that...
Yeah, right, and Trump is a textbook example of pure sanity or what? How many wars are raging right now in the world and how many of these are being led by men? How many male vs. female dictators have there been in history? If you ask me the world doesn't need less but more women in charge.
But what is there even to be expected from such stupid people? They love to hate all non-CIS people too even though my experience at least is that those too are way more friendly than many toxic CIS males. These notions of exaggerated masculinity are harmful. But since men rule the world they will have their way.
And I'm saying this as a CIS male. Not that it should truly matter as I'm mostly spitting facts.

VT, Ty for ur perspective. I have been sharing spark /comfort/ and two truths the last few days. It has been resonating in a lot of hearts. It is amazing that you came back, to music , composed and released these when u did.
Today we hold 2 truths. We cry and ponder. We need to share and be with our communities. Support them and them us. Then when we heal and get strong again……we’ve got work to do! Thanks for getting us! We’ve got you.

I'm fully expecting the heavily right-winged party AfD in my own country (Germany) to be super strong during the next elections. I can see some of the points some who vote for these kind of people are making, but what they have to say on other topics or they way they are doing it I find absolutely terrible.
I guess you have to be "curious" and all that because otherwise you might utterly despair, but from what I know you are or used to be very into environmental questions and staying true to oneself in case of Trump of AfD means to blatantly lie about climate change. Just the other day I told a work colleague that people shouldn't cry and complain about what happened in Spain recently then, because every credible scientist in the world is saying that these occurences are going to happen more often, they have been saying this for decades, it's right there on the wall for everyone with half a brain to read, yet look where we are, not even close to what we should or could be doing and with Trump and the likes it's only gonna get worse.
In light of that I find it hard to be optimistic or "curious". I'm not sure if I want to see where we're heading although I guess with my 35 years I still have to wait a bit before I can say bye bye to this f*cked up world.
Clearly a majority of people hasn't yet realized the severity of things, while the same people are simultaenously hurting minorities like LGBTQ that at least in my surroundings have never hurt a fly. The priorities of many are either totally off or they are accepting these terrible notions for the sake of some other real worries they have and that I would normally acknowledge if not for the remaining bullsh*t that comes out of their mouths. Because it is exactly that.
Maybe opposing politicians should not hold back on this, if you ask me they are way too friendly and diplomatic about this all, Trump to my knowledge never has been and it helped him win these elections, so maybe it's time democrats or whoever take notes and just do it as he does - with endless lies and hate. Because clearly that's the way to go and the means justify the outcome.

As a Republican who is pleased with the results I encourage you to stay true. To heal our country from what has been we need to question things on both sides. Our perspectives don't need to be adversarial. And I encourage debate. That is actual America.

don’t forget that some of the best Democrats in the country are standing behind Trump. Tulsi and RFK would’ve had my vote.
