Marley Bird, you are awesome! Thank you for clear details and helpful tips. I’ve been making these socks for 3 years and they turn out perfect every time.

Just finished my first ever pair of socks thanks to you! The first sock definitely has cleaner sc2tog stitches on the toe, but the second sock has significantly better seams. But, they're both incredibly comfy!
It definitely takes a lot of patience to do these things, but it's so worth it for that feeling of pride when I'm done. Thanks for the incredibly helpful video!
Definitely the best part is how your instructions for working into the side of the piece, for when going from the cuff to the leg and for making the instep, make it clear that we don't need an EXACT spacing of stitches. Made it a lot easier for me to figure out how to start the sections!

Marley Bird, I just LOVE your videos. They are easy to follow and you do a wonderful job presenting them. Also, you have a lovely smile. I've noticed that you eyes smile right along with your facial expressions.

Thank goodness I found your video. I picked this pattern to attempt my first pair of socks. My first sock was a disaster once I got to the instep part. I've started the other sock and I realize I've already made the mistake of not being on the right side for the ankle part. I will be pulling those rows out and joining the ribbing the right way. I will be following this video for each part of the sock. I know now that my second sock will turn out correct. Thank you!

I was able to follow your instructions for my first pair of socks when a written pattern was not clear and Mikey [sorry] went too quickly even with replays. Your hints about where precisely to put markers, changing plain colors for each section and filling in holes in shaping the heel were so helpful!! I’m ready to finish my socks. Thanks!

I chose this pattern to crochet my very first pair of socks... *EVER* !!!
So far, so good! I *LOVE* how clear her voice is and how she gives very clear instructions. It also helps that she uses yarn in one bright color, uses a bigger hook, and works slowly so I can see what she is doing! I *SINCERELY APPRECIATE THAT* !!!
I will share how my socks came out, and how the process went (for a crochet newbie) when I've completed the project. As I can tell, so far, this is a *FANTASTIC* tutorial for beginners! I will let you know if I still feel the same way when I'm done!!!

BEST instruction, impressive: clear and slow, with differentiating colors! I'm lefthanded and thus, since childhood, always head scratching....not this time!
Lots of socks for friends from now on. Can you show us a knitted heel and toe? Thank you!

Thank you so much for this informative and easy to follow instructional video! Also thank you for pointing out the issue with ending the ribbing on a wrong side row and the little tips about how to line up the long crochets & avoid holes in the heel! I ordered some beautiful undyed wool blend proper weight yarn to make some warm socks for my husband to keep his feet warm at work. ^_^ Can't wait to crochet some beautiful socks with you as soon as the yarn arrives! :D

I've been fascinated with the idea of making socks for years now but I didn't understand what part of the sock they were talking about so I never tried it. Now I can't wait 😍 to get started on my first pair! Thanks for doing this and after awhile will you do a more involved pattern?

I’ve been crocheting for some years now but am just now getting brave enough to try socks.. That heel area has been confusing so I started researching just ‘heel’ tips- love your site, but never noticed until this video that your ‘yarn overs’ are really yarn ‘unders’..I’m curious as to why you are doing that in a teaching video because that technique is usually used in amigurumi, or wherever you want ‘tighter’ stitches.. Is your aim for our stitches to be tighter- or is it just what you have become accustomed to doing? Anyway, I thought I would mention it because this is a teaching video, and I thought it would be confusing to someone trying to learn if you are doing a yarn under when you keep saying ‘yarn over’..
Anyway- thank you for your videos- just thought I would mention this..

I always have to do more stitches than necessary in this pattern because the ankle is almost always too small 😓 when i finally get to the heel turn I get confused on how many stitches i’m supposed to do because I’m not following the pattern anymore.

'Foot' section pattern question: Will it work if for the 'foot' section if I just do SC's only for the entire foot' section rounds and leave out the SL ST/CH 1 join part of these rounds?

    • @KyleeLangford
      @KyleeLangford 26 днів тому

I just found this tutorial and I am having the same question. How did yours turn out? The SL is confusing me. The first single crochet is getting farther and farther than the starting point and I don’t know if that’s right.

I'm lost on the 'Shape Heel' part. I am making the men's size so I hae 14 stitches for the 1st row of the 'Shape Heel'. For the 2nd row, I only sc in each of 3 sts and the sc2tog twice. Is this correct for the larger size? I would have expected more than 3 sts.
Is this possibly an error in the pattern? I've frogged the heel 5 times!

I don’t know how this happened. But I’ve been following along your directions: and I’ve been making a mens size 10. And I’m about 4 inches into the foot part towards the toe- had someone with size 6 feet try it on- and it wouldn’t fit AT ALL.
What did I do wrong? 😢😥😭😭😭😭

Okay, this is my first truly “harder” pattern. When I doing my rounds around the heel from 49sts to decrease to 35sts... I’m doing two decreases but when I could my final sts for my rows I am getting only one less stitch... I HAVE to be doing something wrong. It should be 1st row-49 then next 47 next 45, 43, and so on until 35 right?? 🤦🏻‍♀️

@@californiapoppy A tad late, but just place a marker in your first sc and in your last sc, that way you never get lost. Although you may have already figured it out!
