Hi Pete, I'm from south africa and I can tell you that as soon as your country's currency starts wobbling, the mass adoption of btc in that country is a done deal, look at Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Venezuela etc, the people work it out for themselves, neccesity is the mother of invention, desperate times, desperate measures etc.

I went to your channel coz I wanted to listen to Peter Dunworth and most channels they don't really know what to ask, but you do it very well. But you do most of the talking, let your guest talk more, we would love to listen to their views more. Thank you. I hope there will be a part 2 to this.

In all seriousness I really enjoyed this one. My thinking is very much aligned with Dunworth buts as a former finance bro myself probs expected. It’s also an the use case that makes the most sense to the finance peeps. I’d they can print on top of a base asset they will do it. That brrrrr is addictive.

Familiae monologues are for the non-regular listeners. If you listen to other podcasts, you will notice those hosts do the same. It is the challenge of making a show which is good for people who listen to every episode as well as those tuning in for their first time.

    Trades/BTC = price projection?
Perhaps it will reach $2B a coin when the dollar fails and hyper-inflation ensues.

    Great guest!
I disagree that Europe is heading the same way as Australia with the police.
The police state in Australia is at another level entirely. You can see it with the way police, customs, bouncers treat people and in the way they approach privacy and data issues.
I doubt Europe will get as bad as what Australia currently is. That would be a dim outlook.

@26:50 Things got weird during the interview when it came to the discussion of "National Sorry Day". Not because the guest brought it up, mostly because he pointed out that "20% of the population are first-generation immigrants" and "what do they have to be sorry for?"......This is deeply flawed thinking.
When you immigrate to a country you assume the sins and obligations of that country. Full stop.
For example, anybody who immigrated to America after the 9/11 attacks could not elect to stop their tax dollars from funding the Iraq war simply because they weren't here when those planes brought down the towers In New York.
Germany is another example. They've been paying reparations to Holocaust survivors for decades since WW2. Do you think newly immigrated German citizens could withhold a portion of their taxes on the grounds that they simply weren't there when entire families were being annihilated?
I'm an American and new immigrants here are free to go about their days without considering American chattel slavery and how it shaped the USA today. However, they should understand that this would not be the richest country in the history of the world without CENTURIES of FREE BLACK LABOR. New immigrants don't have to feel "sorry" for Black Americans but they should definitely understand that they wouldn't have a favorable place to immigrate were it not for the subjugation of my direct ancestors.
Ask yourself: Would Australia be what it is today if the indigenous population had not been utterly subjugated and nearly wiped out in some places? It's a miracle that Australia still has an indigenous population. Let's honor the people whose families were destroyed so others could enjoy places like Sydney - one of the wealthiest cities on Earth.

This is the first ever episode I had to abort watching, for the comments around the 29 minute mark. When I lived in Sydney, then Melbun back in 2001, my jaw was on the floor at the open racism towards its Indigenous people. Interesting to see over 20 years later, nothing has changed. A day for Truth and Reconciliation is the the least Australia could do. The fact it’s residents can’t even do that; the ignorance is incredible.
