Hey guys. Just in case you are having issues connecting your MIDI with a USB (As I did for a long period of time). One very simple thing fixed everything... Use USB 2 ports for some reason it didn't want to work with USB 3 ports. I hope this helps someone...

Hmm, i'm currently looking to record some drums on some songs. I've managed to get the input from the set through the usb midi, but is there a way for me to get the song playing through the module and my phones for monitoring purposes? I'm currently only packing Reaper, so no EzDrummer or any of the sort. Thanks in advance!
You can have the song playing in reaper along side your drums or I'm sure you can probably plug your phone into the module. Not really sure what else to suggest sorry I couldn't be more helpful! :)

Can you help me, please? I bought the same drum kit last week. It works fine but when i connect the drums with cakewalk and use sd3 or ezdrummer, sometimes the pads trigger some strange samples... in some cases when i play the snare pad, it works fine but randomly it plays a kick or a tom sample... do you know how to solve this problem?? In the video are you conecting the drums to your daw using the usb port or with the midi out?? Tks

Great tutorial! My only issue is that when I try to select the ASIO , it says that no ASIO drivers are found. How can I fix this? Thanks.

Hey man, i have a question. Maybe some questions. When i use reaper with superior drummer, i set midi in and midi out and superior drummer recognizes the hits in the pad and makes sound, but the problema is that the sound comes out of the computer, and not out of the speakers that the drums are connected to. It does not change the sound of the drums, only makes sound on the computer. Shouldnt the midi out make it sound through the speakers where the module is connected through? Hope you understand me. Thanks!
Hey, So what I think the problem is, you need to go into reapers settings and set the output to the speaker you want. You can get to the settings by pressing CTRL P.

Hello i followed your instructions it works. The problem is that with asio4all i get 5ms latency which is great but my overall volume is very low . Do you have any idea how to fix that?
Hmm that's strange, is the master volume on your DAW up enough? Is the track your vst is on turned up? I'm not really sure what suggest tbh, sorry I couldn't be more help :/

I'm having a problem with my Alesis Surge module with the Reaper DAW. I can connect the module to my laptop, start Reaper, get it all set up with the VST drum plugin.......I get a signal from the pads/module but the signal cuts out maybe 30 seconds after the module being connected with the VST. At that point, there is no response from the pads of the kit. What technical problem is this and how can I solve it?

Hi do you get the sound returning from your pc to the module? I have this kit but when I'm using ezdrummer I have to plug headphones into the pc. Just wondering if I'm doing something wrong?
Hey yeah you have to plug a USB cable from the module to your laptop. Make sure you have asio4all installed and choose that from your DAW. I explain everything you need to do in this video, so if you're unsure give the video a watch. Hope this helps! :)

@@Jimmyoldfield hi yes and but can't seem to get to work. Did you have to download drivers for the kit? I will try it with a daw at the weekend see if it works then. On another note do you have any problems with your high hat ? I can't seem to get mine to do the semi open sound
@@jasonbond7877 That's quite strange, it should work with Ezdrummer even without a DAW. Have you downloaded Asio4all? :)
Also I no longer have this kit but I don't remember having any trouble with the hi hat but then I never tried to get a semi open sound, Sorry I could be more helpful.
When I put enable output from device it shows to me a message saying: The following MIDI outputs could not be opened: e-drum. What sould i do?

Hi Jimmy, I have the 850 as well and thinking about using ezdrummer as I don't really like the 850 kit presets. Will ezdrummer improve the sound a lot?
Hey, for sure! If you look up some demo's of ez drummer 2 and the expansions you can decide if the sound is for you or not. Hope this helps! :)

I've got an issue. I connect my kit to my laptop and after a few seconds, it's like it disconnects from it. It still says it's connected but nothing works. Does anyone have the same issue?

Hey guys, I am new to e drums, is it possible to export custom sample/userkits to a usb that I can plug into mps 850?
Hey thanks for watching, yeah you can import one shot samples to the the module. One shot means one type of velocity, for example you could have a one shot that Is hard hit or you could have a one shot that is a soft hit if you get what I mean? :)
Is it me or is everyone so cryptic when it comes to drum software, eg. Everyone talks DAW and VST but never the brand names? OK so I paused and saw you use something called reaper, would be nice to have mentioned on the video. Sorry to be rude.
