@@roems6396 Pretty girls can also have insecurity feelings. I've heard interviews and read autobiographies of attractive entertainers who told about their feelings of being insecure, afraid that someone wouldn't like them. It's pretty universal and affects different people to a greater or lesser degree.

It is for her. Sure, attractive people can relate to this song, but she can’t? So that’s one of the reasons. She’s never felt insecure while looking at someone she cared about but who didn’t notice her.

This is the story behind this song according to this young lady that knew it"
    Sofia
    1 year ago (edited)
He wrote this song about a crush (I mean he was completely in love) he had in college, she was the most beautiful girl and he felt he was too ugly for her, like out of her league, so one day he got a little bit tipsy to have confidence and confess but she got scared of him and run.
Later when this song got popular and they did a concert for mtv or something, that girl went and he got so emotional and kinda cried, his vocal wasn't the best in that concert but for a lot of people that was the best performance because of the emotions he transmitted

This song is about a girl at university who Thom liked but she never noticed him. Apparently years later she turned up to a Radiohead concert, Thom heard she was there and was so nervous
bye the way this the first time they played it Radiohead - Creep (Reading 1994 is the best video)

  • @TheAgentAssassin
    @TheAgentAssassin Рік тому +76

This song was inspired by Thom's (the singer) obsession with a stranger. He was infatuated with a woman who was out of his league, who he'd never met but frequently saw in bars, and he found himself following her around. When he finally got himself drunk enough to build up the courage to confess his obsession, she freaked out.
He felt like a "creep" and a "weirdo" and felt like he wasn't good looking enough or good enough for her.
Technically though I don't think anyone is out of anyone's league. Love is love

while it may be true, its the exception most of the time the "Hot Chick" is dating the Chiseled GQ Guy or QB or Both in the terms of Tom Brady, Brady dated more Hot chicks , all 9s or 10s .... as famous as this guy is if its between him and Brady , Brady taking the Girl / the Girl is picking "Brady"/ the Guy like Tom Brady 999 out of 1000, thats what the song is about

"I don't care if it hurts, I want the perfect body I want the perfect soul". Thom Yorke was born with a severe lazy eye - his eye would hardly open. He endured many painful operations😢 growing up but back then they were unable to fix it and it still doesn't fully open. He went to a private boys school and never fitted in with the other boys being artistic and musical - you can imagine how he was made to feel with a slight disfigurement. He has a nice face anyway and the eye thing gives an interesting unique look kind of like having a small scar❤️ it didn't hold him back that's for sure! This song is such a classic so many people can identify with feeling different and out of place when young and Thom always has the ability to put so much emotion in his voice.

Amazing. No matter what reaction I observe to this song, everyone has a blank expression on their face. The essence of the song is not about him considering himself garbage, but rather that she is perfect and no matter what he does or how he looks, he will be unworthy of her. It's not about his low self-esteem, it's about her being the ideal.

    Lyrics
    When you were here before
Couldn't look you in the eye
    You're just like an angel
    Your skin makes me cry
    You float like a feather
    In a beautiful world
    I wish I was special
    You're so fuckin' special
    But I'm a creep
    I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doin' here?
    I don't belong here
I don't care if it hurts
    I wanna have control
    I want a perfect body
    I want a perfect soul
    I want you to notice
    When I'm not around
    So fuckin' special
    I wish I was special
    But I'm a creep
    I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doin' here?
    I don't belong here
She's running out the door (run)
    She's running out
    She run, run, run, run
    Run
    Whatever makes you happy
    Whatever you want
    You're so fuckin' special
    I wish I was special
    But I'm a creep
    I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doin' here?
    I don't belong here
    I don't belong here

Some people are scared of this song because the word creep has several meanings. There is a meaning - “pervert”, and there is simply a “boring person”. So, those people who think that the song is about a "pervert" do not understand this song and interpret the lyrics as something negative.

Oh yeah, and also, it's more or less just a song about someone feeling insecure. I mean songs have been written about that forever but this was kind of in a more modern feeling, but I would say an earlier version of this that is still quite modern would be that post-punk band called The Offspring, and it's I think either from their first album or maybe it's their third album, but it's early on.
It was one of their early hits and they went on to have several more, and it's a song called, Self-esteem. This is totally 90s music and I love this band, although they weren't all that great live, but they were incredible in the studio:
    m.ua-cam.com/video/EtNZnhxWLHo/v-deo.html
And this was an early hit about a guy that doesn't have much self-esteem and he's just telling you that directly, and he lets this girl that he's head over heels with get to him and she uses him whenever she needs him and then throws hum away and all that.
And it's a bit melodramatic but it's really fun. So Radiohead had this massive hit with this song Creep a bit later in time, which kind of captures the same feeling; it just does it in this ethereal and haunting way, which I feel gets a bit lost in this super up-tempo live version of it.

He sees somebody special, even perfect, that he wants. He has these thoughts or visions of being with her; giving her anything she wants. But he himself sees himself as a creep...a weirdo. He doesn't even belong there, much less being able to get the girl.

He's in love with a beautiful girl, but feels that he's way out of her league. The ending is sad when a girl with him gets up and runs out of the door... running, running, running.

He’s just saying he’s not special to the girl he’s attracted to. It’s just alot of men feel that. Just life. Happens to men more than once. Twice maybe lots of times.

'Creep' is basically about a guy who admires a girl from afar, but doesn't have the nerve to approach her... so he comes off as a 'creep' to her...
Radiohead released this single in 1993 from their first album 'Pablo honey'... this was around the 90's 'grunge rock' era, when Nirvana and Pearl Jam were dominating the rock scene.
Radiohead emerged from the UK w/ Thom Yorke (vocals & guitar) and recorded an album in a similar style of 'grunge rock'... but they evolved over the next 2 albums w/ more electronic beats and keyboards w/ 'The Bends' (1995) and 'OK Computer' (1997)... Radiohead developed a more abstract sound... Songs like 'Karma police'... 'High and dry'... 'No surprises'...
Later songs (after 2000) became more experimental, like - 'Idioteque'... 'There, there'... 'Pyramid song'... 'Daydreaming'
