Actually this seems more like an attempt to keep the stories under wraps. Characters like Gale or Shadowheart have potentially very spoilery story arcs especially Gale whose whole debacle seems to have a very important part in the story and is still very mysterious. By comparisons Astarion's arc seems very independant from the actual plot.

Now that i took a closer look I realized that Astarion and Wyll are wearing the Watch's armor, who are a group of baldurian guardsmen standing watch in the upper city.
I think gale is karsus. I laid out my own proof awhile ago on my theory on the proper reddit. And regardless of some rude naysayers i will go down with the ship. If i'm right then i will be satisfied, if i'm wrong i will be satisfied.

I wonder if the tadpole has nuked his vampire immortality? Or it could just be a conversation in game I've already missed. There are so many branches, even after playing for 60 hours I'm still finding stuff I haven't heard.
I caught the aging thing too, I don't know if there's anything to it since iirc it only gets mentioned twice and it sounds like he's responding to the PC calling him an "aging" something, like "you sound like an aging granny" or w/e. But maybe there's some knock-on effect of suppressed vampiric weaknesses?
Actually, I'm pretty sure it belongs to the "mirror scene" which currently doesn't seem to be in game. He seems to be looking at himself in a handmirror or something, and he asks the PC "what they see when they look at him". They can kinda poke fun at him and tell him he "isn't aging gracefully" and then he's like 'exCUSE MEEE' so that's where his response to 'aging' comes from.
Yeah we'd found out about Helia being a werewolf, it's actually the description of her Origin tag - "Helia, the werewolf companion." Nice to hear they're working on the future companions though.
It's a shame they seem to be going with that angle, just feels very fanfic trope to me. Could just be a line recorded for her as an origin though, in case the player decides to turn away from Shar.
They can also happen if you take him to kill the goblins, and he dies in the process. It's easier than one might think, because he doesn't recover HP after resting.
