Worse pain I ever felt waking up the next morning.
It’s scary, but it happens. I’ve even seen someone get knocked out simply wrestling from the bottom. But you get your head on the wrong spot with some force and weight, and you can easily lose consciousness. Like others have said, good on the ref for his immediate recognition of the situation.
Nice to see he has so much concern for his fellow wrestler competitor . Its Its okay son ... im sure you still win ! You better or someone else will get the fk knocked out .
There's no way he doesn't have a concussion if you lose Consciousness you're guaranteed to have a concussion you may not have a severe one but you're going to have some form it can be a micro concussion or it could be something as bad as a severe concussion. I played football for 6 years and that's something that was explained to us in detail and that's not well explained to other sports people think just cuz they regain Consciousness and they're able to start wrestling again or get back in the game they're fine but you can still have some form of a concussion you more than likely do a concussion may not come up on an MRI but you still very well can't have one.

If you get knocked out in a wrestling match, the other fighter should be awarded the win and you need to be checked out by a doctor. This is high school for crying out loud.
I agree Bill T. I'm gonna tell my wrestlers unless the ref stops the match, pin the knocked out wrestler. If the ref does stop the match, the conscious wrestler is awarded the win.
@@slicknick8598 Really dumb question but here is how...he slammed him and then laid on top of him with his shoulders down. That's a pin, the ref just needed to slap that count.

Wrestling in the United States suck! Parents sign death agreement for their child to be accepted to participate in tournaments where NO medical personnel is present at all. looked like a pin to me. call it ref !!
Coming from a certified ref, if they are not responsive, we are to stop the match and get help immediately.
Charles Scandone Jr. sounds like a puss move to me you want to give me my pin or you want to get jumped after the tournament
@@hagay8980 I recommend you read the NHFS rule book! Section 8-4-2a through 8-4-2b3. The safety & well being of both participants is paramount. Now, if I was officiating that match, I would have given 2 TD, 4 NF; And the match would have been over by injury def. Now, judging by your response you seem like a low life piece a shit who has no respect for this sport, it’s rules, and the safety & well being of his opponent. I’m also willing to bet that if that injured wrestler had been your child, you’d be the first one yelling at me to stop the match. It’s people like you who give HS sports a bad reputation.
Charles Scandone Jr. I understand the last part about the bad reputation of hs wrestling parents and I now feel some regret for my tone one the comment, but my previous comment was a joke. Also I am currently a wrestler and I am very kind to the officials and my opponents. Finally I recommend not getting into it with people on the internet as I was joking and it is just a waste of time
@@hagay8980 then, next time use an emoji symbol like this: 😋🤪😜. That’s how we can tell it’s a joking manner. As a ref I take the safety of each wrestler I officiate VERY seriously.
Glad the ref pointed to which person needed medical so they didn't treat the wrong person.
…..Never Forget; Kurt Angle won a Gold Medal with a broken freaking neck..
It’s true
@@numbersjj4596 it’s Damn True
This kid forgot, forget what happened to him for a whole 4 minutes.
Good quick reaction by the ref, no charging parent, and most importantly completely unintentional. Unfortunate but is going to happen sometimes.
My uncle was asked to wrestle up a class one night.
His neck was broken in a very similar move.
He died about 6 months later. I never got to meet him.
This really hits home.
Best wishes to the wrestler I hope he’s ok.
That referee was so quick to act. He seen it the moment it happened.
Imagine if this was the mother recording her kid getting knocked out.
It was
Buddy got dropped with a DDT
In wrestling, football, baseball, I never went or meant to hurt anyone.
Yeah, you can see he didn't want to win this way.
If someone on our wrestling team got knocked out like that, they'd call him a fish.
If this is considered graphic content then I’ve already gone too far down the rabbit hole
yeah imagine if in todays time this is what would be considered graphic content lol, the world would be a MUCH better place. but sadly this is nothing. ive seen toddlers fall more "graphic" than this
@@RustyIsScared exactly
I remember this happening to a teammate of mine, he had to be air lifted to the hospital it was pretty bad to see. Safe to say none of us really ever tried a head and arm takedown after that
That's why wrestling is a martial art . Do that in a street fight and lights out for your opponent.
As much as I hate wrestlers in mma.. u definitely got a point there
Not bragging or boasting but I have a crazy story... Over 20 years ago I got in a stupid street fight with a guy outside a frat house. I dropped the guy I was fighting when this wrestler ran up on me, picked me and basically suplexed me. I was lucky enough to land right in a snow pile (I was still dizzy). Unfortunately for the wrestler he hit his head on the lip of the concrete sidewalk, and knocked himself out. He ended up with some bad injuries but I never laid a finger on him.
@@mikeross111 not saying you're lying but 99/100 times that story ends the other way around. You got very lucky my man.
Martial arts and street fight is totally different thing. Steet fight always aim for crotch and back of the head
@@JojohnWick and how will you defend a blast double leg if you have not trained wrestling? Twist his nuts midair before your head slams off the asphalt?
One of the few times slowing down the playback speed to .5 makes the fall astronomically more brutal. You can see just how hard his head hit the ground and the instant whiplash in a fixed position, it honestly highlights how gross this bump is.
still waiting on the graphic content
Exactly.
dude looked super confused that his opponent was just out. I doubt he's ever seen someone go unconscious in a wrestling match.
And that’s graphic?
New video title:
Wrestler Gets Murked (GRAPHIC CONTENT)
I saw it when he was flipped the way he landed , that could easily be a broken neck or fracture. He was trying to keep from getting flipped .
I got slammed on my neck and sprained it. Had to keep wrestling
Crazy how 9y ago this needed *graphic content*. Nowadays 75% of the internet is people getting knocked out
I have so much respect for women who can keep their composure under stress
Ok?
IN MY VIEW
The opposing wrestler looked like he was genuinely shaken when he realized his opponant was unconscience.
wow , whoever labelled this "graphic content" probably hasn't watched the UFC .
Three Stooges are 100% more graphic!
Did the same thing back in highschool and the ref didn't step in I'm not sure he really noticed and my coach was pissed I didn't go for the pin. I had to be the one to stand up and stop. Glad to see this ref did the right thing and the kid noticed too good on them both.
i know a murder when i see one
Why ????😂😂😂😂😂😂💀💀💀💀
😂😂😂😂
He landed on his head he’s fine I’ve felt worse and I’ve seen this al the time where I wrestle, people getting hurt if your too scared to see it then stop being a pussy it’s tough sport
Two years later ...🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀💀
@@jamjam7819 it was on my recommended 😂 so I’ve course youtube is stupid yk not my fault but I wrestle too I’m a took 4th place Nationals and 3rd place at nationals and then 2nd place at nationals
The title should be: "Wrestler Gets Knocked Out (GRAPHIC CONTENT FOR SISSIES)"
Glad to hear hes OK...
It’s been nine years..... how r u
9 long years 😃
I think sometimes people forget that this is just fighting for sport, that protective gear doesn't protect you from everything
My prayers for this young man I hope his spine and his neck are OK..
Une blessure 'comme cela moi j arrête la lutte le corps après sera fragilisé
Love the people in the stands making it a big deal. Those are the parents that have no idea about the sport
yes this wrestler is ok haha. he had a pain in his neck, but by now, he hardly remembers it! haha, get it?! oh geez... hahaaaa......
LMBO
Cringe
I’m sure there were a few idiots out there who wanted to ban HS wrestling because this kid was knocked out. Americans never cease to amaze me with their overreactions.
Good sportsmanship from the top wrestler for stopping when he felt the bottom wrestler go limp
Really glad to hear that!
Definitely sucks, wrestled for 8 years last year of my high school career I volunteer to wrestle 3 classes above my weight class, make it to the quarterfinals, select the bottom position, a dude 3x my size trips me up and I land sideways he lands on top all I hear is a crunch, turns out he shifted my collar bone and I but straight through my lip. Worse pain I ever felt waking up the next morning.
Dude soft as a marshmallow, headgear and a padded mat and he still gets knocked out
It’s scary, but it happens.
My brother and I did wrestling growing up. My brother dislocated a kids shoulder once. He was 12.
Brutal sport.
I got picked up and slammed 3 times in 7th grade and he completely shattered my shoulder . First match my dad ever watched lol brutal sport indeed
As a parent my heart fucken dropped.
Stop using profanity! Thank you!
Medical staff was slowwwww
Thank god he was ok. God bless him.
Why thank god? Didn’t he just let him get knocked out?
me 9 years later ..still waiting for graphic content
💀
Lol.. I'm still trying to see why people said ref did a great job.
Any sane person can see he sleep and would stop action..lol
That’s a DDT, wrong wrestling kid.
But still both of them are very brutal I had to quit amateur wrestling in high school because of bullying
Yeah, was going to say it was almost like an accidental DDT.
This is the reason you are explicitly taught not to suplex someone on their neck/ear.
keep in mind he's wearing a purple vest, and he knocked someone out, HE IS THE MAN BEHIND THE SLAUGHTER
Vest? Where..?
Are they wrestling on a mat or a hardwood gym floor?
It certainly doesn't look like a mat is down.
This dude was lucky if he avoided a concussion that happened to me and i was slamed down and i was out like a light
Omg that was so graphic!!!! I can't believe this video is allowed to be on the Internet lol
Looks like he was dropped on the top of his head. Happened to me once, I wasn't knocked out but boy was I seeing stars. If it don't knock you out, then it will sure keep you on the ground for a little while.
Same. Felt like I was smelling colors for a minute while I got pinned. Lol
Been on both ends of this a couple times on the mat. Wrestling is Beast. Salute
Was this legal?
yes was a legal throw, wasnt a slam, in my state a side body to body throw is legal
legal
what state is that? do you mean like a mat return or a hip toss?
No that's illegal
i was a kid watching saturday night main event wrestling with my brother and landed on my head like that and my whole body went numb but i was still conscience...that was about 40 years ago and i still know that i am very lucky to not have been in a wheelchair the rest of my life
I'm confused. 1) Why wasn't that a pin? 2) That has concussion written all over it - why was this boy allowed / made to continue?!? If you get knocked out in a wrestling match, the other fighter should be awarded the win and you need to be checked out by a doctor. This is high school for crying out loud.
it wasn't a pin cause the stopped the damn match cause the kid got knocked out lmao...
C’mon dude the dude got
Knocked how would that be a pun... use your head
Safety trumps continuing the match (ie the ref looking for/calling a pin). Secondly, they are not "fighters".
Somebody get that ref a beer
That didn’t look like a rough landing?... unless the other wrestler broke his opponents neck?..
He got slammed straight onto his head. Having not only your own bodyweight but another's on top of that landing on your noggin is more than enough to put someone to sleep for a little bit.
It really doesn't take a lot to knock someone out lol
Rewatch that, the landing was pretty brutal
Casual allert
2 body weights landing on your head.
Send me location - lets see how you fare
FINALLY a video on the internet where they didn't shake and pull a KOed guy.
I landed on one of those Mats head first it is not fun
It genuinely doesn’t even look like it hit that hard. Kind of scary that something like that can still knock you out with head protection.
I will give you some expert analysis here.Hes Out!!!
Wrestling in the United States suck! Parents sign death agreement for their child to be accepted to participate in tournaments where NO medical personnel is present at all. My kid was wrestling for a couple of years and I watched several cases of concussions and injuries which, in best cases, parent had to handle themselves, and in worst cases, couches and judges just moved the injured child off the ring to let others continue. I am from Ukraine where each wrestling tournament of any level I attended was accompanied by fully equipped medical team ready to handle any emergency if needed. It is just shame how primitive it is in USA.
Landed on his head knocked himself out
His opponent felt awful. You can tell.
I remember seeing a kids bone sticking out of his arm during a match. that was graphic
The wrestler doesn’t even care his opponent is knocked out or worse .
It kinda looked like the kid in was biting the other kids neck at 0:20
One second in and I already decided the guy in white is the one getting knocked out. The difference in their back posture is incredible.
That's a good way to break another wrestlers neck. Bad form. Smh...
Pretty sure he didn’t do it purposely
Why is that bad form? He was doing what he was trained to do.
I did this once at Lafayette High school in VA. I scooped for a quick pin. And the ref even called the pin. I had no idea he was asleep. I thought he just gave up.
OMG! Graphic, I got PSD now!
My brother was from Indiana and won a crazy ton of medals and was a beast! Then got addicted to drugs and his life became and still is a hot mess. Tragic
Illinois high school team finals 1997. I remember something like this happened at the University of Illinois Field House (I guess we weren't cool enough to get the good stadium on campus).
I rarely if ever saw my dad so upset in my life to the point where he called the hospital and was speaking to the boy's mother. My dad became convinced that the young man had broken his neck. Thankfully it was only a concussion.
