What a freaking ride this video was. I learned of Tectone through Asmon and I don't play Gacha so I really only know whatever teccy brings things up in the episodes of Steak and Eggs that I watch. Was getting a good laugh at the recent Honkai insanity and saw this suggested. Expected it to be some type of silly drama like current Honkai spewing not a harrowing tale of betrayal and trauma. Writing this halfway through might update with an edit.
I truly started watching from the Brax vs Ratsu drama, and boy oh boy what a ride it was. The most infuriating thing of that all is how Ratsu somehow still managed to crawl out of it, albeit not unscathed, after being exposed pretty much in all fronts

This video makes me realize one thing, I had always been wondering why I like Tectone's content eventhough I absolutely hate dramas. As someone who started watching Tectone, probably around not even a year ago - this video helped give insight into a lot of things and context on his past. What I'll always find entertaining about Tectone is that he's very unique in the space that he decides to surround a majority of his content around. Gacha CCs will always be trying to give updates on the game, the best builds, maybe chase a drama here and there - or just videos on the game itself, and rarely discuss others. The issue is that a lot of people try to keep their content surrounding only the game, or only the people that play said game. How many videos are made in different channels, exposing "X person did this" "X person is a.." "why X person is bad"? There's a lot of people who, like Tectone said - will try to punch upward in order to get a break of views. Or on the other side of the spectrum, you've got people who don't want to get into conflict and just want to keep their content about the game they enjoy - the drama can be put to the side for them because they don't want any part in it - getting involved would just be detrimental or break the idea of a "non problematic content creator". The players of these games, the content creators of these games, they're all walking on eggshells when it comes to opinions on either the game or the community. You'll be figuratively crucified for speaking bad about a fictional character, and praised for harassing a real human being - but that's where the uniqueness of Tectone comes in. He'll say what he wants to, and he'll speak badly about anyone who deserves it. Holding people accountable is mixed up with just hating on someone for the hell of it - that line people can't see is something that Tectone isn't afraid to cross. He makes content on the game, the community, and rarely takes a look back on it and whole-heartedly regrets what he did. He's not afraid to go against the majority of people and take a stance on something that everyone disagrees with, if he truly does believe in his stance. Even after getting his life and relationships with people messed up by others, he's still making content and still openly despising the people that contributed to that loss and opportunities. There's no tucking the tail and running away, he's still just going and rolling with the punches - growing as a person and acknowledging his faults in the past while still being bombastic and fun because there's really no one else as open and extreme as him, and that's what makes a lot of the content entertaining. It's sad that not being afraid to say what you want to is praised as the outstanding feature to have rather than the standard, but that's just how the internet is. Opinions are regarded as the worst thing you can hold because people don't want to be seen as wrong and can barely comprehend the idea of someone sharing an opposing opinion. Though it's not limited to Gacha games, it's probably the most prevalent because the truth is a lot of people who play these games aren't the most sociable and open, with a majority being introverts - and these communities just further nail in the idea that you shouldn't speak up if it's against the majority. Tectone is a breath of fresh air when it comes to content creation, I'd say. He's someone who'll say what he wants, and have an opinion with no reason to apologize for simply being able to think for himself. He's still extreme and aggressive at times, but I think it's easy enough to determine when something is satire and when it's not. That's who you gotta be to keep things fresh and entertaining, and while he can be a massive troll at times (like with Soul), it's all for the entertainment because he's still having fun making content. I'd rather take a loudmouth bald man who has no filter compared to a content creator that gives you the facade of someone who would never dare touch drama and bend to the will of their own audience. It had energy issues (random energy per pulse hit), which is why it's weak, at C0 you can only summon 1 pillar. In the end, the community at large pushed for one of the last few good changes in Genshin Impact, which was to buff both Zhongli and Geo. Zhongli, in total, was buffed twice. You are one of the few GI creators who rallied for Genshin to change even as recent as last year when the 3 wishes anniversary gift, which baffles me to this day why you would rather keep Zhongli the way he was at the time. Maybe I'm misremember your motivations at the time, since you were still whaling Genshin back then.

I think the saddest part of the Jin jinx and tuner drama is that it started off as a pretty academic conversation. They could have heard the criticism, realized they were wrong, and retested with another persons point of view. @vegitohaze2081 i didn't know anything about this guy until the asmongold video on the brax/atsu drama. the closest game i've ever played to a gacha would be lineage or lost ark. i have no dog in the fight period. i took away relatively the same position Riker did for the Atsu thing, which is what I think was the most grievous of all the drama arcs. so as a person who never knew about it as well and took away the same thing, i now like Tectone in the respect that i would have done the damn same in his shoes.

In context, the clipped comment made it look like I trying to go to war on Dreamy's side about Provenance. In reality, I was a subscriber to Tectone's youtube channel who was just knit picking a specific statement that Tectone made, which contradicted his other statements. Never watched a Dreamy video in my life. At most, I've seen a clip here and there that was contained in other youtubers' drama videos.
Also, about Yun Jin. I'm Chinese, and I agree that the clip you were looping sounded like a fire truck. Or an ambulance. In general, Chinese opera sounds like a cat being skinned alive. It's not racist to point that out.

What a freaking ride this video was. I learned of Tectone through Asmon and I don't play Gacha so I really only know whatever teccy brings things up in the episodes of Steak and Eggs that I watch. Was getting a good laugh at the recent Honkai insanity and saw this suggested. Expected it to be some type of silly drama like current Honkai spewing not a harrowing tale of betrayal and trauma. Writing this halfway through might update with an edit.

This video makes me realize one thing, I had always been wondering why I like Tectone's content eventhough I absolutely hate dramas. I hate tv show dramas, I hate celebrities and politics dramas, I hate dramas on social medias, even on reddit. But I'm quite addicted to Tectone's contents. Now I'm understand why. I love the tectone lore and your content as I’ve been watching for years. Aswell as I love watching retrospective videos like this because I love learning about my favorite creators and the bs they’ve been through. Like dsp for example. I do not like him but the amount of shit that guy has said, been through and done in the past 15 years is absolutely wild I think you’re up there with him in the most hated people on the internet, though your content is better the amount of drama is insane for significantly less time on the internet.
When someone accues will ill intent and say "do your own research/look into it yourself" their essitenally saying "Im too dumb to figure out whats going own" or "IK its bullshit but I also know yall will just take my word instead of looking into it yourself"
As someone who started watching Tectone, probably around not even a year ago - this video helped give insight into a lot of things and context on his past. What I'll always find entertaining about Tectone is that he's very unique in the space that he decides to surround a majority of his content around. Gacha CCs will always be trying to give updates on the game, the best builds, maybe chase a drama here and there - or just videos on the game itself, and rarely discuss others. The issue is that a lot of people try to keep their content surrounding only the game, or only the people that play said game. How many videos are made in different channels, exposing "X person did this" "X person is a.." "why X person is bad"? There's a lot of people who, like Tectone said - will try to punch upward in order to get a break of views. Or on the other side of the spectrum, you've got people who don't want to get into conflict and just want to keep their content about the game they enjoy - the drama can be put to the side for them because they don't want any part in it - getting involved would just be detrimental or break the idea of a "non problematic content creator".
The players of these games, the content creators of these games, they're all walking on eggshells when it comes to opinions on either the game or the community. You'll be figuratively crucified for speaking bad about a fictional character, and praised for harassing a real human being - but that's where the uniqueness of Tectone comes in. He'll say what he wants to, and he'll speak badly about anyone who deserves it. Holding people accountable is mixed up with just hating on someone for the hell of it - that line people can't see is something that Tectone isn't afraid to cross. He makes content on the game, the community, and rarely takes a look back on it and whole-heartedly regrets what he did. He's not afraid to go against the majority of people and take a stance on something that everyone disagrees with, if he truly does believe in his stance. Even after getting his life and relationships with people messed up by others, he's still making content and still openly despising the people that contributed to that loss and opportunities. There's no tucking the tail and running away, he's still just going and rolling with the punches - growing as a person and acknowledging his faults in the past while still being bombastic and fun because there's really no one else as open and extreme as him, and that's what makes a lot of the content entertaining.
It's sad that not being afraid to say what you want to is praised as the outstanding feature to have rather than the standard, but that's just how the internet is. Opinions are regarded as the worst thing you can hold because people don't want to be seen as wrong and can barely comprehend the idea of someone sharing an opposing opinion. Though it's not limited to Gacha games, it's probably the most prevalent because the truth is a lot of people who play these games aren't the most sociable and open, with a majority being introverts - and these communities just further nail in the idea that you shouldn't speak up if it's against the majority. Tectone is a breath of fresh air when it comes to content creation, I'd say. He's someone who'll say what he wants, and have an opinion with no reason to apologize for simply being able to think for himself. He's still extreme and aggressive at times, but I think it's easy enough to determine when something is satire and when it's not. That's who you gotta be to keep things fresh and entertaining, and while he can be a massive troll at times (like with Soul), it's all for the entertainment because he's still having fun making content.
I'd rather take a loudmouth bald man who has no filter compared to a content creator that gives you the facade of someone who would never dare touch drama and bend to the will of their own audience.

Having HP% on v1 Zhongli barely mattered compared to just having a half built C0 Bennett and calling it a day.
One of the main pain points of Zhongli back then was he E. It had energy issues (random energy per pulse hit), which is why it's weak, at C0 you can only summon 1 pillar.
In the end, the community at large pushed for one of the last few good changes in Genshin Impact, which was to buff both Zhongli and Geo. Zhongli, in total, was buffed twice.
You are one of the few GI creators who rallied for Genshin to change even as recent as last year when the 3 wishes anniversary gift, which baffles me to this day why you would rather keep Zhongli the way he was at the time.
Maybe I'm misremember your motivations at the time, since you were still whaling Genshin back then.

I think the saddest part of the Jin jinx and tuner drama is that it started off as a pretty academic conversation. They could have heard the criticism, realized they were wrong, and retested with another persons point of view. But instead they got butt hurt that someone was saying they were wrong and created discourse in the community and turned audiences against each other. Now instead of talking about how to make characters better and fostering a discussion, all anyone cares about is how the drama unfolded. Very disappointing.

Ah Genshin Zhongli's bad build drama. It definitely wasn't everyone had their own truth. As one make unorthodox build. I had to disagree to "everyone have their own truth". Because I made HP healing Jean and Gacha Heizou. And the drawback meticulous. Because both are expensive. Because for Jean, I have to use limited weapon that won't available again. And for Heizou I have use 120 (60 wishes equivelent) starglitter for a bi-monthly available weapon.
And we don't talk about artifacts. Jean is okay for that build. 40k+ hp, 2.6k atk, 180 ER. Heizou in other hand. It could be better.
