You are a Legendary Lure builder. I found your channel a few months ago and have watched almost all of your videos. You give out some insanely smart tips and techniques on lure building that I plan on bringing into action. Thank you so much and keep up the good work.
Nice build..you have a natural eye for form. I'm glad the weight shift helped the performance. The tow eye location has a huge impact on how well a swimbait swims at low and high retrieve speeds. I'm going to cover the topic on my next vid. Congrats on a very nice lure!
That’s one heck of a bait man, I’ve done some foiled baits but not up to those standards yet. I learn a lot from all these type of videos, keep them coming. Thank you!
THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR IDEAS ON HOW TO SAVE ON RTV , I WAS A BIT CONFUSED WHEN LOOKING FOR THE BUILD OF THE SECOND HALF OF THE MOLD , SHOWING THE KEY WAY SIDE OF THE INSIDE HALF , THEN I REALIZED YOU MUST HAVE CUT ANOTHER FRAME AND POURED THE SECOND HALF . I HOPE I EXPLAINED THAT RIGHT , STILL WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE TROUGH WIRE AND WEIGHT PLACEMENT , IM NEW AT THIS LURE MAKING HOBBY AND AM AMAZED AT THE INGENUITY ALONG WITH YOUR SKILL AND CRAFTSMANSHIP , THANKS
FJR GUY that is correct, I had to edit a lot out in order to get the video short enough ....I like to keep them no more than twenty minutes, so people don’t get bored😬....the reason I made this model with two halves, was because I wanted a body I could use to make several different versions of lures, and I have...I start with the lure already split in half, so to speak, that way I can change where I want weights and wire locations with out modifying the mold....once I have everything the way I like it...I simply make a mold that pours the entire lure at one shot, not two halves, I use small diameter wire to suspend the weights and after I remove the lure from mold I simply pull wires out and fill tiny holes(.020) dia.....the mold when poured has considerations for supporting wire eyelets as well...I use an insert to create pockets for hinges a well....if you would like you can email me and I can send you some pics on my production molds.todd@smacktackle.com
Hi Todd, love the builds. You should really do a video on the weights for lures. I'm new to building and it is the hardest part for me. The foil and Bondo techniques are amazing!
Hello Todd. Very nice work! The videos are well done and entertaining to watch. I like your innovative techniques. You should consider improving the lighting in your shop for better video quality. I'm looking forward to your next video!
Oh no...the bondo was just for the model...although it does stick well to it..when I’m trying to get foil to stick to a finished lure I prime the surface of the lure with paint and then use HVAC duck tape, which is foil with a peel back adhesive...not standard duck tape....it can be found in a Lowe’s or home depot
Wow that video is gold 👌 thank.you for sharing your knowledge 🙏 all the best

Excellent video, new techniques, gorgeous lure!!!! I am happy that more people are making quality lure videos!!!

this is amazing!!!
Emily Fumarola lots of work, but when that bad boy gets crunched by some slouch it will all be worth it!
I love this - so I build swimbaits but have problems getting the foil to stick, even using epoxy etc. It seems that the bondo makes it stick?
sorry - I should have watched all the way through before asking a question...should've realized you were building a mold, great looking lure!

Tennessee Tarpon!
From a kayak! Now THAT would be fun. (You'd get pulled all over the lake by a big Stripper!)
Howie Coleman you know it .....I had a striper pull my old Starcraft over 100 yds one time!
