Wow, stunning. Looks exactly like a live red belly dace. Some of your best work to date. Your skills keep improving over the years. Awesome work like always. 👍
I’ve search far and wide for the Lure Sander 3000 with no success. You must have the only one left in the world and i am convinced it must be your secret to making outstanding baits. Great work as always, keeps me motivated to keep improving.
Another gorgeous bait and instructive video, Mikko. I particularly appreciated the fact that you didn't speed up or skip over stages that you have done hundreds of times. Although, as a longtime follower, I am familiar with most of your techniques, the "newcomers" aren't, and they're the ones who have pushed subscriptions above 50K. The tip about using spring steel for the wire harness because it better holds its shape was a really good one. Thanks. Now if you'd just take my advice about testing lures in a local swimming pool instead of your bathtub . . . Hah! All the best, Chris
Nice work Mikko. I think epoxy resin is the most beautiful finish for a lure and make it sparkle, but this finish is also beautiful. I admire every video you make and dream of becoming as good as you are.
I love the scale variance on this one...the fillet style on the bottom and more traditional scales on the top. It's very convincing...I used to catch them often in the river in my hometown when I was a kid. One of the prettiest "minnow" type fish I used to find.
There are two patterns that I really love. This is one of them. The other is that of a Great Lakes Smelt. They're beautiful. You did a remarkable job. I would love to have a diver like in this pattern.
I found a short cut on making scales , using the angled stencil you use i mark off then use a leather punch i notched out. Thanks for all you do it helps me a LOT
Colors look amazing on this one! Sometimes I think the shine of epoxy can be a bit much on certain lures, but it’s hard to beat the protection it provides. I recently tried finishing with a matte spray on top of epoxy and I liked the results.
Hello Mikko.. greetings from Peru 👋👋👋.... it has passed a little long time since last time I wrote you. Once again, I enjoyed a lot your video, and as usual, I admire your incredible work, patience, and details. You know something, in my current project I was wondering how to get more or less the same colours effect that you had in the back of your lure, but I didn't know how to do it. Luckily after watching your painting work I've got tons of ideas... I loved the washed effect and I will try to find something similar to the Varathane spray ...thanks!!!. It is incredible, because it was a coincidence with what I began to do last week. I started to make four juveniles fishes for trouts... all last previous lures that was making in the last months were small and tiny lures for trouts (fantasie and natural colouring), but none of them with a look of a Juvenile look (maybe you can give a look and your recommendations will be more than welcome 😄. Last Saturday I completed the first one. It was an articulated one. Given the small size, it was very hard to do it but I've got a lot of fun. This Attila had 5.5mm long, 6gr of weight, and I used a pass through wire for the main articulation (it was nothing easy to get the right assembling)... I tested it in the pool and the lure's action and swim was incredible. I will try to make a video of it. well thank you for sharing your work, take care!!!👋👋👋 PS...Mikko something I forgot to tell you... instead using the bandsaw to do the groove for the wiring, try to find a Japanese saw I bought long time ago in Amazon, the brand is Vaughan... I had mine more than 10 years and it works really well as the first day. I'm not sure if Amazon still have them available.Bye...
Beautiful bait. Have you ever seen one in the wild. None here in NJ. I know they are endangered in many areas. Males only have a red belly during spawn from what I have read. The lure you made is extremely large compared to how large they actually grow. I love the shape and the paint job on this.
Good job!! Great skills!!! Fantastic details!!! Very good looking!!! It’s a shame, but fishes really don’t care about it…. Here in Brasil, I do my own lures with wood and epoxy resin. It do not look as good as yours but I get a plenty of big peacock bass - Tucunaré - with them.
I think the epoxy coat reduces the action on lures, at least when I try the ones I make before epoxy they tend to swim better . Don’t know if you feel the same.
To celebrate 50k subscribers maybe you need to make a lure where you fill in the remainder of the ballast hole with "supergluebakingsoda" then you can seal it with super glue and then do "fun facts" on the fish your lure is modeled after
Hey love the videos been watching you for a long time and I was wondering if I send you a little 3 or 4 inch bluegill shaped piece of balsa could you make a swimbait out of it and paint it and if you can do I need to pay you for it.
You are by far the OG Master...Baiter...this is phenomenal

Mikko it’s Bruce (Bruce Lures). Great job on this lure my friend. You always inspire me.

And six month later the giant pike project became true xD amazing work as always!
Nice work Mikko.

Whew! There for a minute I thought you were going to try and carve each scal . . . . .. . . whoa!!!!!

Very nice work! You do some very detailed and skilled lure builds!
I ripped a bait in half doing exactly that I glued it back together but it wasn’t pretty until I painted it Oh and awesome paint job 🤙🏼
I found a short cut on making scales , using the angled stencil you use i mark off then use a leather punch i notched out. Thanks for all you do it helps me a LOT
Ah watching your Videos while making lures myself 😂👌
Great looking bait! Love the paint scheme.

2000 grit wet dry sand paper will give a matte finish.
Brilliant paint job on them lures mate 🎣👌
Looks amazing! You have more patients than me, that's alot of tiny carving with the scales. Great job.
You're definitely going to catch something with that action; very nice.
It's rilly amazing 2 witness yr craftsmanship. Genius work 👏 🙌 👌

That is one bad ass bait!!! Great colors!!!
Yes please, will be amazing for mangrove jack over here in Aus!!! I need two
Great job,amazing lures.👏👏👏
You’re beyond good man!

I haven't seen one live and yes I'm aware that my lure is like a jumbo specimen compared to the real thing
Look at those shinny tools.
I love you work! How the fins just show up…. Carving secret? 🤔😉
Its not a secret. I do them excatly the same way as every other detail
Love how you mark the middle 1:50. Gonna try that for sure!
Good job!! Great skills!!! Fantastic details!!! Very good looking!!!

Awesome job - once again. And looking forward to your Pike (in the near future!? ;-) ).
love your lures good job.
AWSOME baits as always
I think the epoxy coat reduces the action on lures, at least when I try the ones I make before epoxy they tend to swim better . Don’t know if you feel the same.
It really depends on the lure type i think
Also use less ballast.
@@thatsmallrockshop I’m still a rookie at this 😅😅
I am running out of superlatives for Mikko so i'll just say not too shabby .
Hi dude u are great lure builder.I want to ask if you have ever built a small popper 40mm like DUO poco poco.
Pokey tool is the proper term and don't let anyone tell you different!
Man u r sick....Top skills mate
Incredible craftmanship, how many hours does it take you to make one lure?
A few days
Lure sander 3000🤯 wow where can I find one of those? My local elbow grease expo I hope stocks them!
Another awesome job😊 👌👏
Definitely lost some brain cells lollll that's me
👍👍👍👍👍
You know what I’m going to ask: the soundtrack for the carving?
I think i was listening to alot of AC/DC when i was carving.
Do you ever fish with light gear? i would love to see you make a micro crankbait of some kind
I do love fishing with ultra light gear so there is a high chance i will do some micro lures
Is it possible to get a rattle system inside your wood baits. ? I know the store bought are usually plastic with rattles and wood are rattle less
I dont see why not. I did it on the previous project
Where can I buy these works of art?
To celebrate 50k subscribers maybe you need to make a lure where you fill in the remainder of the ballast hole with "supergluebakingsoda" then you can seal it with super glue and then do "fun facts" on the fish your lure is modeled after
Классная работа, супер! Выложите пожалуйста чертежи 🙂
Hi . What's the angle of the lip?
Thank you
On this one it was about 45°
@@SolarfallBaits thank you 😊
Is the wood you are using balsa wood mate?
No its not balsa wood. I used basswood for this one. Im pretty sure I mentioned that in the video. 😉
Another great bait, good video.
Nice work...from indonesia😍
Hi, could i ask you what needle size you use for your airbrush? Thank you :)
0.18mm most of the times
Not bad for a rookie..👍👍👍👍👍
Wow this is awesome
Thanks for checking out the video
Just wondering, why does almost no one make masters of polymerclay?
Hey love the videos been watching you for a long time and I was wondering if I send you a little 3 or 4 inch bluegill shaped piece of balsa could you make a swimbait out of it and paint it and if you can do I need to pay you for it.
Where do you get the patterns of the fish you carve
I just go internet and do a little bit of googling and skech a lure on paper
Perfeito trabalho,top show
Trust me, acrylic clearcoat after a while starts to crack, usa an epoxy clearcoat or a uv coat, it's better
Your probably right about that.
@@SolarfallBaits i sent u a dm on instagram showing you what happens with the spray thing, i'm stillbaits
Oh hell yea!
Excelente
Top!🤩🇧🇷
Wow
pokey tool sounds better (awl said).
Очень круто 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😃
