@11:49 What type of screw eyes are those?
@@jeffreyboucher344 they are called hook hangers if I remember I got them from Barlows
@@lureup9973 Thank you, I am just now learning to make lures…particularly glides, after fishing for so many years, and the amount of money I’ve spent on baits, I’ve reached a point where I’d rather learn how to make them lol
@@jeffreyboucher344 I understand… completely 😜👍
You can lube up your stick HAHA......I really miss this guy doing swimbait videos....I sure hope all is well...
@@zandreaeslick1072 all is well, thank you for asking, hoping to get back at someday
Not sure if you are still checking the comments but just wanted to say this is one of the best lure builds I have seen. Just found your channel, not sure of it is still active but would love to see more builds from you. Great stuff!!
@@juderyan1284 thank you for the kind words…I hope to get it going again some day😉👍
@lureup9973 Awesome man, great to hear from you. No pressure, but I'll sub and await a notification of a new build 😉. In the meantime im gonna have to try to make a version of this, my kids will love it. All the best man, just fantastic work 👏
@@juderyan1284 thank you!
Awesome video and glide bait. Just wondering what grit sandpaper you typically use on your belt sander?
@@River_Savage I use 180 grit
Hello! What material did you make it out of? Love it!
@@deneskovecses5656 it’s called pvc board it’s used in construction as an exterior trim board, you can find it at Lowe’s or Home Depot
OK! Ya got me hooked (no pun intended) or maybe it was?!? Chris from Worlds Worst Fishing put me on to your channel, and I'm quite glad he did. Been browsing thru your videos and picking up on things I've done in the past in trying to make swimbaits, and. no I'll not disclose how many there were. Honestly, none of my baits worked. But, this tiny bait has me jacked up. There several lakes near the Lexington area that are absolutely full of shad around that size. Would love to say more, but I gotta get to my shop and start fashioning one of these. THANK YOU!
Thank you for watching
Thank you
What type of course screen are you using
It’s an aluminum mesh used in sculptures to support clay, you can find it at hobby lobby if you are near one
M
What is that rotary bit tool called?
I’m not sure, there is one laying on my bench that is a 1/4” grinding bit, and the smaller steel bit in the dremel tool is similar to a 3/32” end mill
👍👍👍👍👍
Do you have prints of this?
I do not
Hello, excellent job and action, did you decide to make this bait available for sale? Also is your listed email still valid?
Sorry I didn’t, and do not sell lures at all anymore
What material are you making your glidebaits out of?
I build my models from pvc board available at lumber stores like Home Depot and Lowe’s….I pour my production using polyurethane resin with micro balloons
Looks alright! Think i can see a little body roll but that just might not be all that much of a bad thing
Very cool little bait. You are very talented, being able to get that kind of action on such a small bait. Have you fished this bait and if so how did the line and hook eyelets hold on larger fish? Also what thickness pvc board did you use? Looks like 1/4 inch. Very enjoyable and informative video. Thanks
Thank you for the kind words 😁… the only problem I had was distance, it is plenty strong and smallmouth and hybrids love it, I fished it in Tennessee on one of my favorite lakes and it got slammed and I set the hook to hard and broke it off, but I did make one slightly bigger so I could cast it further and have caught lots of fish on it . Oh and I used 3/8” I believe
bravo majstore.
I dont see.
надо еще меньше🥲
Your work and ideas you share are amazing! Iam just learning this great hobby of lure making and your channel is the best .. keep up the good work.. all best from tim in the uk 👍👍
Joe Biden… is that you😂
You got Mama's beautiful smile, thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the kind words
I'll take a baker's dozen please! Lol
Ha ha...me too!
Sick lure man!
Why ya whispering?
Just discovered your channel! Good stuff! Peace from sweden!
Thank you!
Is there a fish paint or does any paint work? I may try to find a airbrush set to make some
I use paint designed for airbrushes, it needs to have fine pigment and a certain viscosity...I use Vallejo
Hey! What's the clay/powder combination you're using as a filler_scultpet? Love the videos man!
I use regular modeling clay and glass microspheres
I also use automotive body filler depending on what you are referring to
Making anymore baits and where do I purchase this at
I’m sorry, not at this time
@lureup9973 do you know when you will start back are just taking a break from it
@@ogjmcnutt9756 yes, I’m remodeling my shop with improved ventilation, I should be back to making lures in a month or so
@lureup9973 nice an nothing like an upgrade to the shop good luck to that an keep accelerating will you lmk once your back at it making baits and etc thanks again an tight lines
Just subscribed. Awesome lure. Just started making some lures and I would love to try one similar to yours.
Nothing like a good topwater bite!
You have much more to see my friend
I’ve seen and built lure since then with much better action…. I was a rookie and in some ways still am👍🥴
After you cut it in half what do you use to connect it back together
Store bought hook hangers from a lure component website… I believe it was lure parts online or Jann’s net craft
What kind of playtime is the tail
The tail is made from.032Lexan(polycarbonate)
How thick is the wood
The wood is a pvc board that is almost 3/4” thick
Thank you
The tumble and roll on it is horrendous! You can get better stability from a $20 savage gear shine glider!
Thank you for the kind and encouraging words, may all that you set your heart to come true
Please leave a link to the video on how you made the master mold magic thinga ma jig
The video titled ultimate wake bait shows how I make molds
Rather than breathing in lead fumes, just cut it. It's extremely soft
Show us what it does at the lake, they’re gonna crush that lure!
Have you ever had an accident with plastisol? I have! And when you do you never shoot plastic without gloves & a face shield again. Its like napalm. One drop goes in your eye, you lose that eye. Sorry to be a bummer. Your lures came out kool! Just learn from my mistake.
It’s very average…
Where can I purchase one at
Thank you!
Your work is very good. We want more videos my friend. Congratulations from Spain.
Can you just make me 5 of those lol and I’ll 💰 loll
Cringe whisper
That one is lethal!
Nothing to add! You were born interrumpted! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
More lessons learned. Thank you. I'm new to this hobby. I've been watching tutorials for about 1 1/2 years and have learned a lot. Thanks to individuals like yourself. I've made about 80 lures so far and none have seen the water past my kitchen sink ! But, soon... All of mine are carved wooden lures. I haven't seen any lure makers use epoxy clay as of yet. This surprises me. I've done a deal of decorative carvings as well as taxidermy in the past, and it fills a lot of voids, literally. It takes some time to harden, but you can sculpt while soft, sand and carve once hardened. Filling voids, left by adding weight, or tearout on carvings, it works great. You could even make fins from it. Apoxy Clay and Magic Sculpt are two that I have used. They last for years. When they become stiff, a few seconds in the microwave will soften them and make them malleable again. Great appreciation my friend. I've been in construction for 50 years. We learn how to disguise our mistakes. ( Well, maybe not "OURS", but those that need to be rectified....) Blessings
Thank you, I think there are many more materials to play with than time to do so, I’ve thought about 5 minute epoxy mixed with sawdust to create a lure but haven’t tried it yet. I’ve even thought about creating my own substance from urethane resin and a floating medium.🥴👍
@@lureup9973 life stems from imagination.... You're planting many seeds...
Love the bait !! Great job ! What do you think about making the head and a thin shoulder section that articulates with with the baitholder attachment and having the plastic portion attach to that ? It may give more motion. ( Not that it needs it.) Haha! Love your videos. Thank you for sharing your creativity !
I like your idea😁👍
