Am a kiwi retiree now living in rural Thailand but since 9 yrs of age wanted to go to sea. Sadly my eyesight prevented and officer cadetship so took another tack. Seriosuly attempted to get my wife and kids to help he achieve my longstanding ambition by building a yacht with a close fried who shared my vision. unfortunately the bos and my wif atr ultra susceptible to sea-sickness t so those plans finally quashed. I am reliving my dream vicariously through you. by taking on such an epic undertaking with limited experience from captaining a Salthouse is giving my 73 rs old eyes something great to behold. you're a kiwi legend bro.
Hey thanks so much. we love making each episode. only yesterday I watch one of our earlier episodes and had already forgotten so much. The channel provides a timeless record of our adventure. Others enjoying it and through their feedback supporting us has become an unexpected delight. We appreciate all the feedback good and bad
You guys can literally only be Kiwis. 😂 Even if there wasn’t the accent, your attitudes, the banter and
ribbing are just so NewZild. I’ve already sent links to my Kiwi friends. Found you last night and have already binge-watched up to 51. I am so in awe of your enthusiasm and bravery at undertaking
*Purchasing the first boat of a new design
*Starting the boating experience in new, very foreign waters.
I’m blown away at your intrepidness and adventurousness. I’ll be watching you avidly from here on in. Don’t change anything about yourselves - I love it.
P.S. Watching from Matakana, north of AKL.
The most important thing is that Fiona and you are happy with your purchase and it works as intended ..... nothing else matters. I smile constantly while viewing your vids ... great entertainment keep it up please.
We are thrilled and confident she is seaworthy and well built from what we have experienced so far - we are so lucky.
This is fast becoming the best boating channel out there. Just love the banter and the warts and all approach ... it feels like we are on this epic trip with you.
Yes it is. I like the natural aspect to it. Not like some "know it all" boating and yachting channels. This channel is good stuff.
Well we just put it out there like it is…shorter episodes will be good once we catch up….wont be long
Mmmmmm……certainly not know it all!
Mark is quite the character, and he's having allot of fun which is infectious. I can't put my finger on it, as I follow a few boaters, but this channel is above and beyond all those.
You seem surprised by all the interest. I believe the fact that you are Hull #1 of a Norharvn gets a lot of initial attention, it did for me. But what really makes it enjoyable is the honesty and likability of you guys. I love that you are not scripting anything, but just documenting your adventure. The authenticity is really appealing. Hope to see you out on the water one day.
Thanks so much…just being us and trying to keep a record…gets a bit addictive though I must admit
I've never laughed during an oil change but I did this time. Best entertainment I've had in a bit. Great video.
So pleased such a boring subject made you laugh
Me too and please Mark fill the new filter with new oil before screwing it on.
Got that message loud and clear
I’ve seen so many new boats with lots of problems. It’s the nature of boating it seems. That why people say the word boat stands for Break Out Another Thousand.
Glad the stabilizers are working now. 👍👍
100% agree
Mmm
Thoroughly enjoyed this video. I sharn’t add my four pence worth of advice, the early birds beat me to it. Glad that the list of things to do is reduced to routine maintenance. Take care and safe travels.
Cheers….the list is now almost non existent…we can start concentrating on routine matters and building knowledge and experience
Hello, greetings from Belgian, ex KiWi, ex Fijian ow living in Rochester, MN, USA. IR Rated private pilot. Just watched this video. It may have been suggested already. But, I would strongly advise you to make a 😢dedicated snubber. Loops at both bitter ends, shackle or chain hook in the middle. Makes anchoring so much easier and faster. Some boaters have two snubbers. A heavy weather one when you are expecting a blow, and a normal weather one used 95% of the time. I appreciate you guys are still learning, but a dedicated snubber would make this so much easier. You can prep it ahead of time. Feed it through the hawsepipe, loop over the cleats feed it over the pulpit, clamp it on the chain, a few extra feet of chain to take up the strain and Bob’s your uncle. It takes longer to explain than to do.
Love your videos! Keep up the great work. Dreaming of picking up my own Nordy in Turkey.
Yes we have been advised to do that on a number of occasions…just want to get our length sorted before we go there. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Smoothies with Mark! I love it. Happy yo hear your ticking boxes with the repairs
Yip almost on top of everything
Good evening from Scotland. Another fantastic video and two days early. A real treat. Your boat handing skills are really coming on. Reversing in with you back to the controls, very impressive. Remember everyday is a school day.
You both are looking more and more comfortable on the boat and life at sea.
Thank you so much…next video almost finished!! We feel we are getting there but won’t get too confident….arrived at the quay yesterday with the anchor back in it housing…….was bringing it in not letting it out. I think due to the fact I was standing back to the controls…..I want to persevere as you get such a better perspective that way but it is harder…needs to become instinctive.
Great, very interesting video that I recommend to all boat and navigation lovers to watch. I love how you have dealt with the initial problems and I admire the support given by Nordhavn. I didn't expect anything less, but when you see it come true you admire the brand more. Your travel plan and the energy with which you face it is admirable. If the videos continue to be this entertaining, I wish you many, many followers and success.
Thanks so much we just put it out there when and how it happens
Docking like a boss Mark! Nice job!!
Thanks so much…still making mistakes though
My first comment, to let you know how much I am enjoying your family adventure and how grateful we are for you sharing it with us all. As always I am sure you will get the usual trolls and negativity but please ignore/block these as necessary and do not let them get to you. Please just keep being your natural interesting selves. Thanks again and bon voyage!
Wow thanks so much and welcome
Love, love loving this. Always best to fill the filter with oil before putting it on. Keep em comin.
Thanks for the tip and will do
Well done with the videos of your adventures in hull 1#. It’s a known fact in the merchant marine the busiest ships engineers are on the new builds.
Indeed
Good morning from the states. Another excellent video. And you are getting so much better operating your boat. It’s nice to see the confidence that you and your family are building operating your vessel. And your patience dealing with all the problems of a hall one build is awesome. Again, awesome video and thank you for sharing. Bless you and your family. Safe travels.
Thanks so much for your support. Working hard at trying to make each episode better
Another great video! Great to see all the repairs are finally complete. You are definitely improving in all of your skills.
Thanks so much
Mantus bridles are awesome. Never let me down.
Will look thanks
The Mantus chain hook is a god send. Give it a look. Great video keep them coming
I'll check it out!
Love to see you here in Alaska!!!
On our bucket list
As I watch you change oil filter I can’t help but offer so alternative removal wrench options. I would send picts if I knew how. One is a loop that clamps down as you turn it and opens when you release pressure. The other is a set of slip lock pliers specifically for filters. The last is one that fits the shape of the bottom of the filet that is turned by either a ratchet handle of wrench. I listed them in order of preference for me.
Don’t have to do too many changes but will keep my eye out…thanks
So love watching more of Mark and Fiona’s excellent adventure! Got so much accomplished there in Athens…..now onward….can’t wait to see all of your many ports of call….it’s going to be fascinating, funny and freaking awesome! Love your videos and so appreciative that you are sharing so much of it with us…be safe…..till next time…❤⚓️
Love your positivity…makes the world go round
Great film Mark & co, good to see all sorted and the suppliers have taken care of you. Berthing like a pro now! Nice plan for trip home. loads of spots in NW Scotland and Ireland, All the way up the Norwegian coats to 80deg is stunning . Could spend 5 yrs up hear and see 10% of it. Wishing you all the best of luck
That sounds cool…personally I would love to get up to Tromso…likely would mean another year
Just another great video. So glad MOST if not all of the nagging mechanical issues got resolved. Thank you for explaining clearly why you were not terribly surprised by the teething problems and why many of them were not a fault of the build process -- I was one of the people who questioned that and now I understand that overall the boat is fine. I am very impressed at how all the firms involved -- the components people and the yard itself -- have responded quickly and fully to get everything working perfectly.
Thanks so much for the feedback. If we had stayed closer it would have been much easier….all part of the adventure
Just Loving this. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
A Nordhavn Dreamer here, just love your channel and the "come watch us learn and grow" approach. I realize it is very far off, but when traveling down the US East coast, stop into Charleston, SC and we'll show you some southern hospitality. Might even have our own Nordhavn by then. Best wishes and safe travels
How cool, stay in touch
Hahaha Repair number 6 "OH MY GOD".... hahaha you had to squeeze into that space, I'm happy you didn't got stuck! 😄
You and me both!
fantastic you are very very honest and entertaining keep it up and yes mums we lovem
Don’t we just….lots to be grateful for
Great film you guys...love the itinerary look forward to this voyage and I hope you will take us all the way with you......😊😊
Certainly will
Loving the vids . .
The Panama Canal and the big ocean crossing are memories of our childhood . . Having done Auckland London return 67 68 .
Looking forward to the next 5 years . . Lol
Take care .
Bye from NZ🍻👋🇳🇿twa
Yes it will be interesting to see if crossing an ocean on a 51 vessel is a good or bad experience
@@AwanuiNZ Al Grover crossed the Atlantic with a 35ft outboard motor boat.. in a hurricane. Crossing in a Nordhavn is cheating.
Congratulations on 5k subscribers team! Thoroughly enjoying the content!
Yip Pat rather surprised I have to say…all good for you?
@@AwanuiNZwe are doing very well! Looking forward to that marine electronics video 😂
Really like your channel - boating concerns and repair - a bit of land sightseeing and much appreciate seeing your life ( eating, chatting, cooking ) enjoying the inside of your beautiful yacht.
Thanks so much we love making them
We love Fiona and Renee Mark.
We love sharing
Well done again, look forward to your adventures dropping now, keep them coming.
More to come!
love watching, your a great host !
Thanks so much we enjoy making them

Another superb video guys, thanks
Cool ta…another one out any day…catching up!
I’m watching from Hamilton Scotland 👍
How cool…..so looking forward to Scotland…….never visited….any good pubs?
Such a pleasure to watch. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Our pleasure!
Your attitude towards the issues you have encountered is admirable. I think Nordhavn would consider you to be the ideal customer for Hull Nr 1
I hope so. They have been very supportive
I think you’ve taken delivery of a boat in excellent shape, I’m watching a channel where they’ve taken delivery of a new yacht and they’ve been out of the water for more than a year trying to fix the problems by themselves and they’re getting pretty much ignored by the manufacturer.
Thank goodness that is being recognised. Nordhavn and boat builder have been onto any issue, covered costs and very responsive. Couple of biggies more bad luck than anything everything else minor and expected
you dont need to explain to us,you are the man they need to impress!
I guess so
When changing the oil in your generator and you re-add the amount of oil required with a new filter, the dipstick will read slightly over full and won’t give the correct reading until the engine is started and the new filter fills with oil. You need to check the oil AFTER you start the engine. If the oil level is still high or low then you remove or add some. On a small filter like yours i would put the amount in for the crankcase, start the engine, and then add whatever the filter causes the level to fall to. Good luck!
Got it…thank you….pretty obvious when you think about it huh?
If you haven’t done much of these types of maintenance in the past, it’s a learning curve. We can tell that you are putting a lot of thought into how to go about maintenance, and doing a very good job. Make sure to check on the filter often when you first start running the generator or any engine with screw on filters. Over the years I have found that screw on filters could be a little loose and leak or develop pinhole as in the sidewalls of the filter after being under pressure with warm oil. It’s not a crime to check for leaks or drips more often after maintenance. It beats waiting for a leak to signal you by a sensor shutting down the engine under low oil pressure/. By then you have one hell of a mess. Good luck!
Don't miss the most beatiful coastline in the world, western and northern Norway.
May just have to include eh?
@@AwanuiNZ Think so!
Good practice to fill the filter with clean oil before fitting
Yip got that
I have that exact suction pump and that pump works perfect. For everything a few pumps and it empties what you working on. 🧜♂️👍🇺🇸
Cool thanks for touching base
Great video, learning lots from you. Any chance you can show a mid mooring from start to finish, apologies if you have already done this in a previous video. Keep up the great work 🏴🥃
Absolutely want to but difficult with just the two of us on Board…..Will give it our best shot as soon as we can. Check out previous video as it covers quite a bit. We have learnt more since which we can update.
The dinner part was the best. 😂
Cool it was very nice.
For attaching the snubber I’d be inclined to put it through the metal loop coming from the bow side (so the snubber line is on the correct side then you can connect it to the chain easily on the horizontal surface and it will run down back through the metal loop when you release the chain. You could also make a dedicated snubber line of the correct length so all you have to do is attach both ends and deploy it.
Tried that but it put a lot of pressure on the edge of the loop…we will do that with the lines just wanting to sort exactly what is the best length first
No that's not how you do it oo special one.
Arm chair sailer.
Just love you both and the plans you have in your like , sit back and enjoy 🌷🌷🌷👏🌹🌹❤️❤️.."Kevin ..Ohope NZ

@@AwanuiNZ Of course.
Love the video
Great informative engine maintenance tips
Excellent maneuverer at the slip Love it "more of that"
Keep them coming please.
Another out tomorrow
Looking forward to see you coming to the Faroe Islands. Would love to meet you, and show you around 🇫🇴
Wow stay in touch thanks so much
I would change those zincs, cheap insurance, once they start to go it won't take long for the rest. If you got the threaded part along with the zinc, that is costly. but the zinc part of it has threads on it and you reuse the bolt head part and screw in the zinc part. Then you just buy the zinc part separate. Hope this makes sense.
Absolutely it does. I did not know that. Thanks so much we will take the new heads and get screw in spares…great advice
When you do an oil change with filter replacement, start the engine after filling. The filter takes a few 100 ml of oil. Recheck the level then.
I came here to say that Mark that oil filter holds I think 200 mill ...this is also on any of your engines, change filter fill with oil run then check again as oil as filter will be full now. using old oil on filter o ring just using something that you are throwing away..you can use new oil makes no difference..I serviced 100s of engines trucks bob cats excavators ride one mowers
Great tipsmthanks
Magic thanks and will do
@@AwanuiNZ Not sure if you have done a coolant change yet. Make sure you read the manufacturer's instructions on that. Some engines need the cooling system to be bled of air. You can think its full but have an airlock resulting in overheating. Not all engines but some.
Thank you and no not yet
Greetings from Oklahoma City.
I have been enjoying remarkably your videos. I wait every Saturday for your new episode.
I wish both of you all the best in your amazing journey !!
Thank you so much we love making them and sharing.
Awesome video guys.Great entertainment .Really look forward to each new episode
Coming out today!
As an ex professional mariner and subsequently a yachtsman , I can say that all sea-going vessels require pretty well continuous maintenance and repair . The main culprits are vibration and the ‘working ‘ of a vessels hull in a seaway. Nuts, bolts and screws become loose, piping suffers from fatigue and pipe clips stretch, so they need tightening every so often. Your experience is completely normal for a ‘first off the line’ untried vessel. I now live in Canada, but spent many happy times in N.Z. Including learning to fly in Tauranga and Dunedin In the 1950-60s , so am really enjoying watching your experiences.
Thank you so much. I thought I was going mad as to me nothing really untoward has happened other than maybe heading away from Istanbul too quickly but that’s on me. She feels strong and honestly is beautifully put together. I watched the workers for nearly three months and they took so much pride in what they did….they cared, were careful and absolutely did not rush. I think for Hull No.1 there were very few teething problems and all have been resolved…..I think!
Thanks for showing everything so that we're able to see what's involved in owning a yacht and what you're responsible to do. If I haven't said it before, all your footage is top notch. Are you using a go pro camera? Keep up the great work. I love the yacht too! Jim
It is an Action Cam mini 4
look forward to seeing you in the Scottish Canals. I currently am resident on the Caledonian Canal.
That would be great
Surprising how many issues with such a new boat.
Honestly not really it is hull no.1. Teething problems that could not have been foreseen
Absolutely. There’s always going to be some issues with a new boat. Each build will be a bit different and each will have its own set of challenges to overcome. Part of the process.
Totally agree
What a shame ,all these problems with a new Nordhaven.Good luck with the boat ,have a god trip.
We will and thanks
Hi Mark

Another episode!! Yes - and I loved it.... a very interesting itinerary you have ahead of you.... truly world exploring. I like you commenting on the overall status of your perception on a Nordhavn hull no. 1 - and it makes sense - and comfort to know the level of support you are getting. And your captaincy is quickly improving , docking stern to with your back to the controls?! nice. Mark, you are quickly becoming to Nordhavn N51 what James Knight is for previous Nordhavn's... you are literally making an How - to owners video guide on maintenance ! Again the same nice mix of daily life onboard a boat, and technical/sailing perspectives.... thank you! And your subscription numbers will surely increase hugely through your endeavor ... Btw... what drone did you use in the previous episode ?? All the best to you both...
Thanks so much for such positive comments and your support. DJI mini4 pro
Your living my dream
We just had to do it
Love your vids. You've just confirmed to me that smoothies are for those who are nutritionally confused of have lost the ability to chew.
Not far from the truth. I don’t eat much fruit so it is one way to improve my diet
🤣
love it!
Thank you we so appreciate positive feedback
Mark can get a nice shackle with a retained pin its easier for the snubber than trying to hold tension as you do your acrobatics.. make snubber line longer and let 3 or 4 m of chain loose out behind the snubber will act as a shock absorber..
Send me a picture and thanks
If you come to Bergen in Norway, you must visit Trekroneren. I think you'll like that.
Would love to visit Norway…likely means another year
Mark when your daughter comes onboard, it seems like she is the Captain and you get demoted to first officer for the time she is onboard. You are now the releaving Captain until she rejoins. She is sharp, witty and intelligent. Only joking you are the big boss all the time, sorry rephrase you are big boss sometimes, your wife is big boss 😂😂😂. Only having some fun. You are one great family.
Hahaha…only one person in charge here!!
And fast!
@@AwanuiNZ😆 🤣 😂 ❤
Better is to fill the new filter with new oil before placing , in that way you will have direct oil pressure when staring after the oil change and it looks to me that the first bit of dirty oil coming out was bit white /yellow frothy that means water in the carter, condense or head gasket leakage , keep an eye on the coolant tank/usage
Check if the boat is 100% galvanic isolated from shore power( isolation transformer ! and do not connect the shore earth connection to the boat earth connection ) also an active corosion protection woiuld be great for shaft props an engines !
Best is to have a 2 by 2 feet copper plate on the outside of the boat with the boat earth connected for lightning protection i would put a active lightning protector in the mast also connected independently to this earth plate, the boat have a GRP hull and a lot of costly electronics/ control systems .
But read up about this, i,m just spewing out some info from memory .
Wow that’s a lot to take in…I will do some investigating
@@AwanuiNZ Please do so , to protect your engines and all equipment what take outside water in, if not you will look at a tremendous cost and work later, if you have a sea chest it is not really difficulty and expensive.
Hi Fiona and Mark. Stu here fellow Kiwi and boatie Loving the vids. Good on ya for sharing your journey. Certainly a beautiful part of the world you’re in at the moment. We heading off on a cruise in July leaving Greece heading through Adriatic and end in Venice. Then next cruise Venice through med to Barcelona 5th August May see you on our travels. Enjoy Adriatic and I look forward to next ships log vid
Wow what a trip. Yip this part of the world is amazing…almost too good to leave. Bloody Schengen rules!
Hi Mark. Thank you for the video. Nice marina and nice restaurant. Glad you enjoyed that meal. I have a sweet tooth and I would of had 3 of your wifes desserts for my meal. 😂😂That looked so delicious. One for starter, one for main, then one for dessert. Must be a steep learning curve for you but seems like you doing great. It is also good to have dealing with companies that supply good support to the customer. This provides piece of mind for you. A motorised boat has so many components, and gadgets, and computer chips, and other things. You are the Captain, Chief Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Plumber, smoothie maker and doing a great job. 👏👏When I was a Captain on large commercial ship's I had Engineers, Electrical engineers and other staff to take care of many of the problems onboard my ship. You are the master of everything onboard. Your wife and daughter also play vital supporting roles.
Happy times.
Cheers from Durban, South Africa. 🛥🫡👏🙏🏄♂️👍
Thanks Brian. Yippee it’s a fulltime job but loving it
I don't know how you so skillfully dock in such tight quarters. I expect it was much easier parking your Boeing 777. I love your Nordhavn. It seems the perfect size for a couple to live aboard and have occasional guests. Be safe ... from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Believe me it is easier than it looks….my biggest fear now is docking alongside. The boat is extremely manoeuvrable and you soon get the hang of it with a little practice. Everyone helps over here. Having said that I arrived at the dock yesterday with a clunk as the anchor arrived back in its park on the boat! I had been bringing it back in as I backed rather than feeding it out!
You are the Master, sir!
Will take that but not sure quite there yet!
I think putting out shorter videos is a great idea. I find hour videos take a lot of watching. I was thinking the other day that half an hour a time would be great. If people want longer they can save them up and binge watch them.
Also you make me jealous watching you eat your dinner. I reckon I put on a kg just watching you😂👍
If only I could! Videos will get shorter…trying to catch up with where we are. About two weeks behind
Mark, I love your attitude. Good to see you actually doing the maintenance yourself. By being "hands on" you'll learn where all the items are located and how to service them.
Thanks…honestly I do not think we could afford this boat if that were not the case
Great job. Hopes mechanical issues are done by now.
Noticed also your filled washing machine in the engine room not turning. Take attention to the fact that you can create a laundry fire if those clothes came in contact with different type of oils or cleaning chemicals. This happens because of gradual increase in temperature ( oxidation ) of flammable materials, even to the point of ignition. The process is a chemical reaction in which heat is generated. So never leave clothes for a longer period in a closed washing machine.
Ok will work on that
Mark, a zip lock bag is good to use for filter changes.
Thanks Wayne…will keep my eye out
Before you do final check on oil level, run the generator for few minutes and than check. You have installed dry filter and it will soak some oil .
Thanks so much got that message loud and clear
It seems Mark, that you don't mind being ripped off when buying your supplies. 400 euros for some oil and filters is unbelievable. If you maybe planned ahead say, about a month before your maintenance tasks and ordered online from ebay/amazon, even with freight to whatever country you're in, this stuff would be half the price. Another tip for your anchor bridle - clip onto the chain then adjust and cleat off your port and starboard ropes first so the bridle is centered on the bow then let your chain out till it goes slack on the windlass, job done.
It’s so hard over here. Anything you get sent gets stuck in customs and one hell of a problem getting cleared. Sometimes you have no choice but to bite the bullet…it hurt. It the job got done
Will we see a Greek Salad Smoothie at Kaitoke Country Gardens?
Would be a sell out!
Stableizer was made on a Friday afternoon. You sure are a patient man. I hope you can make it to nz. That's a long way. I'm watching the whole way. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. And great drone shots too.🧜♂️👍🫠❤️🇺🇸 cocoa,fl. USA.
Thanks so much…glad to have you with us.
Great videos Mark! Made better by the fact that if I ever come into enough money to buy and run a boat my dream was Nordhaven 475. I’ll keep you company on your amazing journey. Jeff, Greatstone-on-sea, Kent
Thanks Jeff. I love the 475
Getting more seaman like.
Thank goodness for that!
Good job Mark ! You use the controls , not the wheel in the haouber.
Getting there
It would be great after Oban if you went t Crinin and through the Crinin canal to Ardrishag and into Tarbert, please a wee heads up so i could give you a wave.
Wow will look at it
Prime the oil filter with oil and take a little oil on your finger and rub it around the gasket on top of the oil filter so you don't tear it when you re installed the new one
Will do
When you were running on one engine did you find that you were able to maintain your speed. If you do that all the way back home you will like have a backup always waiting. Have a good day.🧜♂️👍🇺🇸
Yip worked well. Problem is there are no shaft brakes so prop spinning continuously. Also hydraulic PTO on Starboard engine which would mean we were always running that engine
@@AwanuiNZSo was it cheaper on one engine?
So they have the wrong props on?
The other prop is still spinning?
When they reinstall the bolts for the motor mounts haven't put some blue lock tight on the threads that should keep him from warning the back out
Suggested that but they rejected the idea for some reason
Try and find an old Scottish tv show called The Vital Spark and a song Called The Crinin canal for me,happy sailing.
I will
I would be really interested to know how often you do which maintenance. Perhaps you could say something about this in a video. Thank you
Will do!
I have a feeling that bearings in the stabilizer has actually destroyed the races inside and they probably are gonna have to replace the bearing and races in them but they have to really pull the thing apart and literally feel the race and feel the ball bearings to make sure there's no pitting or gouging
I will follow up with ABT
Just want to say thank you for sharing your boat and journey with us. Your doing what allot wish they could do. I can't begin to tell you how fascinating it is to see reality vrs my idea of what it's like to run a boat like this. I'm looking forward to the large passages, Panama Canal, and Alaska! - It's also interesting that there are a few former Pilots now boating on the tube. I think it's because pilot disciplines translate so well with cruising. Charting, Check list, etc. So I'm subbed! Your going to be a star, and UA-cam cash will certainly help fund the operation.
We just love making and sharing the videos. Best is the comments which have been both encouraging and very helpfull
Another great episode. You have the perfect attitude to all the problems. We have never owned a new boat but more than one 2nd hand one, and despite the best inspects by surveyors and engineers they all had problems. The big difference is you have the full factory backing and warranty on all your beautiful new systems. I must say my wife and I have been super impressed in the way all the suppliers have responded to your problems to.
Finally a thought…we see lots of people struggling to get on and off using your Passerelle. Would it be possible to fit folding or plug in removable S/S handrails to one side? Seems to us it would make it a lot safer and more user friendly.
Your plans for shorter videos sound great for you both to. It should give you much more time to enjoy yourselves cruising and exploring the Med. looking forward to every one…Cheers from Tasmania.
Thanks so much and totally agree. Thanks for thensuggestion
Hi Mark you would be better off snub lining straight over the fairlead and back to the winch if you can and are able to then still let out a bit of chain ae cheers Kev it’s just so you don’t get the noise of the chain tight on the fairlead at night ae 👍✋not sure about the smoothie bro 😝
I was looking at it again Mark it won’t work what I was saying unless you can stop the windlass top where you can only tie off to spinning and may be able to by loosening the nut in the middle so it doesn’t spin ? Maybe cheers Kev 👍😀
@@KevinPurserright Kevin so speak English……got lost in all the terminology! Describe it in plain English as I am not sure exactly what you mean…..others have recommended similar with just as much jargon in there so lost I am sorry.
??
Sorry meolm8 are you using the snub so you don’t hear the chain at night ? I’m just use to running my snub straight over the bowsprit is that better lol 😂 don’t want to muck ya up 👍
Buy yourself a cheap boogie board and when you have to put the bride on to the anchor and have to lay across the anchor bow sprint you could put that boogie board down and not have to light on that metal might be much more comfortable to put the piece on
Yip it’s not easy
