Thanks for what you do man! It's been a great help for us, and we are finally getting some good results. Another thing worth mentioning is that there is usually some bleed into other platforms. We only advertise for Spotify, but we've also gained over 100 UA-cam subs in the last month, maybe a little more than 100 Instagram followers, and same for Facebook likes, and even a bunch of Shazams and Apple Music streams. All of this with only advertising for Spotify. If they like you, they'll definitely seek you out everywhere else.
I ran a follower campaign for a while, got up to around 2,000 followers. I found that it made little to no difference to the streams of the next track I released, after quadrupling my follower count on Spotify
I din't have much luck with Spotify Play listing either. I'll try the FB method, do you have a video that walks people thought the process of how to set up FB ads for Spotify?
Greetings! If am releasing songs every-month.. do i have to create a campaign for each songs or i can use same campaign that i used before but different ads inside the campaign for each releases?
Hi Tom, I have a question about the make it/take it approach ... are you taking a successful ad set within a campaign for Song A and then adding an ad for Song B to that ad set to see how it does? Or are you duplicating that successful ad set in a new campaign for Song B and comparing performance to see which one to continue? Maybe I missed the boat on that one ... I duplicate ad sets (settings) that work well for new song campaigns, and test 5-6 creatives. When I heard you mention the make it/take it is sounded like the songs were going into a steel cage death match! Thank you for the really helpful videos, really great stuff!
That $2500 is spent over the course of almost 9 months at $10. You can definitely get results with just $100. It simply won't be quite as extensive. But still much better than playlisting!
Ah ok now it makes more sense to me. Dude i run facebook ads (conversion) but i got poor results... like 80 cents per conversation. I watched your video about conversation but still cant get it, can you another video with some details on how to get conversation down.? Thanks
I started with my own growth campaign after you mentioned it in one of your other videos ... Or was it a live session? Doesn't matter. I don't have such a low cost per conversion like you. I'll keep going optimising 💪 And my following on Spotify is indeed growing - that's awesome 😎👍 thanks for giving me that one starting hint! 😉
It takes a while to get the optimization. My cost per conversion has been slowly coming dow over almost 2 months since I've been doing this. Started out at about 60 cents per, and it's almost at 30 cents per conversion now, and my new ad set has been running about 15 cents per conversion so that should bring the average down a lot over time. It takes a while for Facebook to finally learn who to find. Stick with it!
@@chinazoofficialszn I do $10 for the constant follower campaign that’s always running. When I release something new it really depends on what I feel like doing at the time. Usually it’s more than $10 a day though.
@@electivetheatre that’s dope, I got a new song last Friday currently pushing it with 10$, I tried $20 and it keeps bringing very high Cpc , but when I reduced to 10 it brings almost same number of people with lesser cpc. Like how many followers do you average a day?? I’m really thinking about setting this up. Cos more followers means some day you can release a song with putting in your own money and your followers streams alone will trigger them algorithm.
@@chinazoofficialszn I usually see between 10-20 followers a day right now. Still experimenting with all of the ads and optimizing, so hopefully eventually I get more for less.
Hi, Just curious if you ever had your ad account disabled? I had mine disabled after my very first ads, and FB wouldn't re-activate it. Very frustrating! So now looking into using a friend's FB account possibly..
Thanks for sharing this, Tom. Did you say you are budgeting $10 per day? Secondly, what have you learned about how to optimize the ad itself….what to show in the ad to generate clicks?
I tested music videos and track art. I found that despite the dynamic nature of a music video if its not the same imagery as the art work for the song/artist it can reduce clicks. Try both see what works, there's no set way of split testing.
Yeah, I’m spending $10 per day every day. @Three Thieves is right, definitely try different things to see what works. For me, a simple ad with the cover art, text that says “Listen on Spotify” and text that says “Swipe Up” has worked beautifully.
Thats great, man! I havent completely understood how you make this campaign though. As I understand it you make the regular campaign for the song, after the events you generate lookalike audiences and then you use those lookalikes and add them to this growth campaign? So the difference is that the growth campaign contains the most succesful ads from regular campaigns but targeted to a broader audience (in this case trigger cities expanded)? Thx!
Hi Tom. I'm using your suggestion of retargeting people who clicked before. I'm simultaneously running another ad targeting people interested in my genre and in my area. Facebook is giving me a notification saying that I should combine my audiences into one. Any experience with this? I don't want to just retarget people in my area, and I also don't want to not target anyone in my area. Have you seen this before? Thanks
In the past I noticed you do trigger countries of your top 30 countries that listen, while expanded means all spotify countries. Are those top 2 performing adsets the trigger or expanded? (it says both in the name) Please do a breakdown of these top 2 performing adsets.
Ok ,we're all good for this but you didn't explain exactly what you were targeting, the ad itself so...i don't think it's a totally useful video. anyway thank you for sharing it
@@tomdupreeiii I set it up last night using the cities you mentioned in another video and today the ad set is getting 10 cent conversions as opposed to the 22 cent from the existing ad set. both are using lookalike audiences. Excellent. Thanks dude.

thanks mate. really appreciate what you are doing. keep it rolling
Say for 6000 followers how much of those say listen to your release radar on release day? I find it's only about 10%
Great breakdown My bro thank you
So glad you dig it!
thank you tom. we did the same and have over 3000 followers.
Show us the step by step set up for the ad set winners!!

Great work, man! Was wondering: do you ever use Spotify's native ad platform? Would love a video on your experiences with that.
I haven't tested it yet. I've heard too many bad stories from others, so I haven't felt the need to try it. Maybe in the future.
